Item Rasgos de personalidad y su relación con el Síndrome de Burnout en estudiantes de la carrera de Medicina de la Universidad de Cuenca, periodo 2022 - 2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-10-26) Arévalo Sarmiento, Astrit del Rocío; Morales Quizhpi, Juana AgustinaThe study of personality and Burnout Syndrome (BS) are recurring topics in mental health that require comprehensive attention to promote the well-being of individuals and ensure an appropriate environment for professional growth and success. The general objective of this research is to determine the relationship between personality traits and Burnout Syndrome in students of the ninth cycle of the redesigning curriculum of the medical career at the University of Cuenca. It is a quantitative approach study, with a non-experimental, transversal and descriptive design. The five-factor reduced NEO inventory (NEO-FFI) was used to assess personality in 52 undergraduate medical students of the University of Cuenca, with an average age of 22.4 years. Also, the Maslach Burnout Inventory Student Survey (MBI-SS) was used to determine the presence of SB. The results show that the predominant personality trait among students presenting SB is neuroticism, which places them in a risk category in terms of mental health. Therefore, it is necessary to implement psychoeducational interventions that strengthen formative and reflective competencies, which are key indicators of well-being during the training of future professionals in the health field.Item Síndrome de Burnout en el personal docente de la Unidad Educativa Federico González Suárez en el período 2024-2025(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-02-21) Vargas Pirca, Gabriela Alexandra; Quito Tamariz, Nathalia Juliana; Santos Morocho, José LuisBurnout syndrome in teachers is the result of mismanagement of stressors within educational institutions, which leads to physical, psychological or behavioral disorders. The objective of the study was to determine the prevalence of Burnout Syndrome in the teaching staff of the Federico González Suárez Educational Unit in the city of Alausí. In this quantitative research, with descriptive scope and non-experimental cross-sectional design, 66 teachers participated. Information was collected through a sociodemographic form and the Maslach Burnout Inventory. Data analysis was carried out with SPSS V-29.0, with p-value, absolute frequencies, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and percentages. The results showed that the prevalence of burnout syndrome is low at 4.5% (N=3), but 21.2% (N=14) are at possible risk of suffering from the syndrome. With respect to workload, teachers with a higher number of courses present slightly higher levels of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment (M=14.00; M=4.75; M=45.00).Item Síndrome de burnout y variables sociodemográficas en educadores de niños/niñas con y sin necesidades educativas especiales en instituciones de Cuenca, en el período 2022-2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-07-24) Gárate Rodas, María Paula; Uyaguari Guartatanga, Paulette del Cisne; Duque Espinoza, Paola VanessaBurnout Syndrome is a response to chronic stress in the workplace, since they work with groups of students who demand more attention. Several studies have shown that it can affect mental health, quality of life and even put it at risk, whose main features are emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and decreased personal performance. The general objective of this research was to describe burnout according to sociodemographic characteristics in educators of children with special educational needs and educators of regular children in institutions of the city of Cuenca in the period 2022-2023. The study had a quantitative approach with descriptive scope, non-experimental design, and cross-section. This research had 60 educators belonging to the Carlos Crespi Educational Unit (30), Center for Integral Development and Organizational Training CEDICA (7) and the Institute of Cerebral Palsy of Azuay IPCA (23) and the instruments that were applied, were the sociodemographic record and the Maslach Burnout Inventory Educators Survery Questionnaire (MBI-ES). The results showed that the levels of burnout in teachers of children with special educational needs are higher than teachers of regular children and it was the male sex who presented higher levels of burnout in relation to the dimension of emotional exhaustion compared to women, finally, older teachers presented less burnout.
