Item Niveles de estrés académico en estudiantes de tercero de bachillerato de Unidades Educativas Particulares de la ciudad Cuenca- Ecuador en el período lectivo 2024-2025(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-02-19) Parra Rivadeneira, Stephany Dayanna; Bernal Sarmiento, Luis AlbertoAcademic stress is a growing problem that affects both academic performance and the mental health of students. Previous research has found high levels of stress in university students; however, there is a lack of studies addressing this issue in late adolescence, especially due to the demands and concerns of this stage. Therefore, the objective of this research was to determine the levels of academic stress perceived by 68 students aged 16 to 18 who are in their third year of high school at Unidad Educativa Particular Porvenir and Unidad Educativa American School during the 2024–2025 academic year. The approach used in the study was quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional. The Systemic Cognitive Inventory for the Study of Academic Stress (SISCO SV-21) by Barraza was applied, complemented with a sociodemographic form. Furthermore, this study provided relevant information about academic stress levels, identifying a moderate level of stress in this research. The results aim to contribute to future research on larger populations and serve as a precedent for professionals in educational institutions to prevent and improve optimal academic performance.
