Item Niveles de asertividad sexual en estudiantes de la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad de Cuenca en el periodo septiembre 2023 - febrero 2024(2024-02-19) Fajardo Morocho, Tania Isabel; Reyes Bravo, Kelly Nahomi; López Alvarado, Silvia LucíaSexual assertiveness is a fundamental construct in human sexuality, enabling individuals to effectively communicate their thoughts, needs, desires, and preferences regarding sexual activity. This research aimed to describe the levels of AS in students from the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Cuenca. The researchers conducted a quantitative study with a descriptive scope, employing the Sexual Assertiveness Scale (SAS) and the Sexual Assertiveness Questionnaire (SAQ-W). The population consisted of 121 participants from the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Cuenca (71.90% females and 28.10% males), aged between 19 and 34 years. Results indicated differences between men and women in levels of sexual assertiveness based on the SAQ-W attitudinal domain (dimensions of sexual agency and communication). While no gender differences were found in other dimensions of this construct, slight variations in scores were observed. These findings underscore the importance of ongoing research in this field to enhance sexual health care, both in university settings and society.
