Item Riesgo de trastorno de conducta alimentaria (TCA) y hábitos alimentarios en estudiantes de la carrera de Nutrición y Dietética de la Universidad de Cuenca en el periodo 2024-2025(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-03-06) Chabla Santos, Paola Estefania; Maruri Cabrera, Janys Nicole; Piedra Carrión, María JoséThe idealization of thinness and discrimination against obesity are two factores that have led some individuales to modificaciones their eating habits, resorting to restrictive diets, fasting, and weight-loss products, or, in other cases, to overeating and selective eating behaviors. The primary objective of this research is to describe the risk level of developing an eating disorder (ED) and the eating habits among university students in the Nutrition and Dietetics program at the University of Cuenca during the 2024-2025 academic period. This study employs a quantitative approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design and descriptive scope. The population consisted of 102 male and female students. The instruments used included the Eating Attitudes test (EAT-26) in its condensed version and the University Students Eating Habits Questionnaire (ECHAES). The results revealed that 53.92% of the participants exhibited a risk level for developing an ED, while 46.08% showed no risk. Regarding eating habits, the majority (67.65%) demonstrated adequate behaviors and habits, 28.43% showed healthy habits and 3.92% exhibited deficient eating behaviors and habits. In conclusion, the findings of this research highlight the importance of preventive and educational strategies to improve dietary health within this group.
