Resilience, understood as the ability to overcome adversity, and emotional intelligence, which involves identifying, understanding, and regulating emotions, are essential for psychological well-being in emerging adulthood. The general objective was to describe the levels of resilience and the dimensions of emotional intelligence in the studied population. A quantitative methodology with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design was used, applying the RS-14 Resilience Scale and the TMMS-24 questionnaire, complemented by a sociodemographic record. A total of 266 students were selected through random sampling, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics with the SPSS software. The results showed that 77.1% of participants had high or very high levels of resilience, while 9.1% presented low or very low levels. Regarding emotional intelligence, gender differences were identified: women excelled in emotional attention and repair but faced challenges in regulation. Students in advanced academic cycles and urban areas demonstrated better competencies in both variables. It is concluded that resilience and emotional intelligence are interdependent and essential for academic well-being. However, some vulnerable groups require specific interventions. These findings provide a basis for designing support programs that promote effective coping strategies and emotional development in university students.
