Item Niveles de adicción a las redes sociales e insatisfacción por la imagen corporal en estudiantes de la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad de Cuenca, período 2024-2025(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-02-18) Barbecho Barbecho, Ariel Alejandro; Freire Valdiviezo, Paulo AndrésSocial media has become a fundamental communication tool in everyday life, with millions of active users across various platforms. Although it has improved connectivity and interaction, excessive use can promote ideals and representations of body image that negatively affect self-esteem. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between social media use and body image dissatisfaction. This research adopted a quantitative approach with a descriptive and correlational design. The sample consisted of 211 students from the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Cuenca, aged between 19 and 25 years, during the 2024-2025 period. Data collection was carried out using the Social Media Addiction Questionnaire (ARS) and the Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ). The results indicated that participants showed low levels of both social media addiction and body image dissatisfaction, as well as a moderate correlation between the two variables.
