Since the importance of researching obesity and the health problems caused by lack of physical activity has been evidenced in recent years, including especially young people with Down syndrome, as they are a group of people with permanent special educational needs. For this reason, the objective of this study is to analyze the effects of the implementation of a popular dance program on the physical and anthropometric conditions of young people with Down Syndrome, at the Agustín Cueva Tamariz Special Educational Unit, in the city of Cuenca. Since the execution of a folk dance program helps these people maintain an optimal state of health, performing physical activity through movement and body expression, in this way it is a matter of reducing the levels of sedentary lifestyle and certain diseases associated with their condition. For this reason, an experimental study was carried out, where 21 children and young people, 13 men (41.9%) and 8 women (25.8%) with Down syndrome aged between 12 and 18 years were evaluated through a folk dance program, applying a pre and post program evaluation that allows knowing its anthropometric measures, resistance, strength, reaction capacity and physical condition. For the folk dance program a demonstrative teaching method was used and to obtain the body mass index (BMI), wingspan (EGD), waist circumference (CCi) and hip circumference (CCa) the method described by the World Health Organization (WHO). Therefore, the Harvard test was used as the only instrument, with the purpose of knowing the maximum aerobic capacity and the level of global physical condition of the participants. The materials to identify both the physical effects and the anthropometric variables were a height rod, tape measure, scale and a 38-centimeter bench to collect anthropometric data such as: height, weight, span, waisthip diameter and the application of the test. In this way, the data of the participants could be taken before and after the programItem Implementación de un programa de ejercicios físicos para mejorar el desarrollo de las habilidades motrices y condición física en niños en confinamiento(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-01-04) Naula Chimbo, Johny Segundo; Tacuri Peláez, Elsa LeonorThe present degree work called "IMPLEMENTATION OF A PHYSICAL EXERCISE PROGRAM TO IMPROVE THE DEVELOPMENT OF MOTOR SKILLS AND PHYSICAL CONDITION IN CHILDREN IN CONFINEMENT" has the objective to implement a program of exercises directed at the development of motor skills and physical condition in children during confinement due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The present study of type quasi- experimental it had the first stage, with the evaluation of motor skills and physical condition through a pretest, addressed to children from six to ten years old belonging to six different families; This intervention was carried out virtually two days a week with a duration of sixty minutes and for a period of three months, with scheduled activities emphasizing the deficiencies detected in the pretest; subsequently the post-test was developed, finally a comparative analysis between the pre-test and post-test was carried out. The results obtained in the pretest of basic motor skills were 73.33%, which corresponds to the general average; while the general average of the basic motor skills of the post-test amounted to 83.15%, with regard to physical capacities, significant improvements were evidenced in the musculoskeletal capacity of the lower body, motor capacity and aerobic capacity of children who were study participants. In conclusion, a program of physical exercises aimed at working on motor skills and physical condition in children in confinement is even more effective if it is developed in a systematic and orderly manner based on the results of a pretest. Finally, it is recommended to implement a program of physical exercises with greater duration and weekly frequency.Item Influencia de la actividad física sobre la fuerza y equilibrio en adultos mayores”. Furthermore, it is positive into the internal facts in function of the basic psychological needs and the sort of behavior regulation to determine the type of motivation and to achieve the highest level of self- determined motivation in children and teenagers. However, some practices and mistaken methodologies tend to frustrate the basic psychological needs specially in these ages provoking rejection, physical practice neglect and demotivation. In light of these facts, it was evidenced that motivational teaching intervention strategies influence positively in the self-determined students’ behavior and the importance of the teacher guidance and presence in during the PS classes to the acquisition of active and healthy life habits. To analyze the perception of physical education classes, motivation and the level of physical activity post pandemic in students of the unified general high school of the Gabriel Cevallos Educational Unit. The sample consisted of a total of 65 students (28 females and 37 males), ME = 16 years of age belonging to 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of BGU. The research is non-experimental with a descriptive cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach. The SPSS v25 statistical program was used for data analysis; with the parametric statistical T-test for paired data. To calculate the descriptive statistics, the perception of the PE classes was measured using the Instrument for Measuring Satisfaction with PE classes (I.M.S.E.F). To measure the level of motivation, the Basic Psychological Needs Scale (BPN) adapted to PE was used, taking into account that the selfdetermination theory considers that the three basic and universal psychological needs of autonomy, competence and relationship with others directly influence student motivation. Deci and Ryan (2000). In addition, the International PA Questionnaire (IPAQ) was used to measure levels of PA. The results regarding the NPB satisfaction level and the relationship with PA level showed that students of the two genders with higher NPB satisfaction levels are those who have a level considered high in PA. On the other hand, with respect to the relationship between the perception of the PE classes and the level of PA, it was evidenced that the satisfaction with the sports activities and with the teacher, the women with a low level of PA are more satisfied, while the women with a moderate level of PA have the lowest degree of satisfaction with the sports activities and with the teacher. In the case of men, they are the most satisfied with the sports activities, the content and the teacher, having a high level of PA. In conclusion, students who had a higher level of PA had higher levels of motivation and satisfaction with the classes.Item Programa de actividad física moderada en centro de salud del Cantón El Tambo en adultos mayores hipertensos y diabéticos para prevenir complicaciones cardiovasculares(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-07-24) Cajilema Acero, Edwin Fernando; Cobos Bermeo, Nelson AlbinoPhysical activity has an essential role in the elderly’s life quality.
