Item Actualización del inventario de atractivos turísticos del cantón Biblián, provincia del Cañar con la metodología del Ministerio de Turismo(2020-01-20) Díaz Pacheco, Andrea Sofía; Rivera Palaguachi, Micaela Tatiana; Sánchez Rodas, Lourdes MonserrathThe Municipal and Metropolitan Decentralized Autonomous Governments (GADs), within the framework of tourism activities development, in their constitution, are responsible for developing and updating the inventory of tourist attractions, so under the authorization of Lic. Danilo Barreto, director of the Department of Community Development of Biblián, this work entitled "Updating the inventory of tourist attractions of Biblián canton, Cañar province" to carried out with the purpose of registering and generating a tool for future projects aimed at strengthening and boosting tourism activity in canton Cañar" with the purpose of registering and generating a tool for future projects aimed at strengthening and boosting tourism activity in the canton. This intervention project was carried out considering the criteria set forth in the Methodology for the Hierarchization of Attractions and Generation of Tourist Spaces of Ecuador proposed by the Ministry of Tourism. The Decentralized Autonomous Municipal Government of Biblián identified 33 tourist resources, which, after the application of the methodology resulted in 18 tourist attractions, of which 12 are categorized as cultural manifestations and 6 as natural attractions. Thus, the canton has been determined as an area and potential tourist center due to the conditions it presents, which are detailed on maps drawn with ArcGIS software version 10.4.1, as well as in the attached inventory sheets.Item Análisis de cinco escuelas de español y su relación con el desarrollo turístico de la ciudad de Cuenca en el período 2005-2010(2012) Romero Tapia, Luis Enrique; Sánchez Rodas, Lourdes MonserrathItem Análisis de la dinámica de alojamiento en quintas vacacionales: Yunguilla - Santa Isabel(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-02-16) Chacón Jara, Nube Yessenia; Panamá Laso, Jennifer Carolina; Sánchez Rodas, Lourdes MonserrathThe Yunquilla Valley, characterized by its warm climate, sugarcane plantations, the sugarcane mill and its beautiful natural attractions; it has become a place demanded by locals and foreigners to build modern holiday quintas. However, these holiday homes have gradually taken on other uses; going from being residential houses to a new type of tourist accommodation. That is why, this research aims to provide a complete analysis of the dynamics of accommodation in holiday quintas of Yunguilla-Santa Isabel. This study had a mixed approach; the first part obeyed a qualitative approach of exploratory scope aimed at determining the causes of irregularity. The second phase obeyed a quantitative approach of exploratory-descriptive scope, aimed at characterizing the functioning of the holiday quintas through variables collected in a database. Subsequently, based on the results obtained, a comparative analysis was established between a quinta and a formal establishment. As a result of the study, the first chapter concludes with seven causes of informality: citizen culture, distrust of the country's institutions, economic needs, bureaucracy, lack of incentives, tax evasion and lack of capacity to exercise the activity. In the second chapter, after the analysis of 57 quintas, a general description of each one is presented, its operation dynamics, georeferencing and identification of the people involved in its operational processes. A tourist’s perception of a service is of great importance in order to know if these are of quality given that good services eventually lead to the growth of tourism because a satisfied customer always comes back and recommends what they have received. In the city of Cuenca several services are provided to tourists, among them, tours provided in the English language. In this research project,tourists were asked about their perception when receiving a guided tour in English by a tour guide that works for the Pool of Operators South Explorer Group. Through surveys, tourists answered questions about the level of English they perceive the tour guide has, specifically in the areas of oral expression, listening comprehension and oral interaction and how this influences the tourist’s experience. The work consists of three chapters, the first of which discloses the global, national and local activity of tourism emphasizing the increasing number of visitors and the countries from which most of them are from. The second chapter contains the classification of travel agencies and requirements by law the guide has in order to provide servicein the country, as well as the history of the Pool of Operators South Explorer Group. Also analyzed is the profile of tourists who use the services of these specific agencies and a profile of the guides who work for the Pool. Chapter three contains the results of the surveys answered by the tourists and the guides. Performing this research has met the objectives, initially identifying the main social networks using foreigners visiting Cuenca, resulting: Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.In addition, the use of social networks by hosting companies it showed that, photographs of facilities persuades tourists, relevant information on activities within the city is requested by visitors and show the facilities and prices accommodations are first seeking by tourists in social networks during planning the trip. Therefore, strategies and tactics proposed using Marketing 2.0, which facilitate an organization within establishments that provide accommodation and want to improve their presence on social networks and websites to get the attention of foreign tourists visiting the city of Cuenca.Item Análisis de la satisfacción de los usuarios de alojamientos en modalidad Airbnb dentro de la ciudad de Cuenca, Ecuador(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-10-25) García Bermeo, Briana Estefanía; González González, Fátima Monserrat; Sánchez Rodas, Lourdes MonserrathThe objective of this study is to analyze the level of satisfaction of the users of the different accommodations in Airbnb mode present in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. For its preparation, a mixed methodology was used, consisting of quantitative and qualitative elements, which were developed in three stages. The first stage consisted of the collection of data derived from two websites: AirDNA and Airbnb. Subsequently, a quantitative analysis of the numerical variables was carried out through descriptive statistical methods and correlations of variables. In the final stage, the comments issued by Airbnb users were analyzed, using a word cloud with the terms that were most frequently presented, as well as an evaluation of the feelings perceived in the different reviews. As a result, the tendency of users to choose accommodations located in central areas and close to the main tourist attractions of the city, among other factors, stands out. The sentiment analysis indicates that 93% of user’s express positive feelings and are willing to use Airbnb services again in the city of Cuenca, on the other hand, 7% of users expressed negative feelings showing their dissatisfaction with the services provided and are not interested in using them again. Implementation of sustainability in the touristic activity has helped to service providers and tourists opt for a high conscious mentality, not only regard to the environmental but also in the sociocultural and economic, which together are a balanced pattern development and everyone benefits. The document of "Tourism Practices Guide" developed by the Rainforest Alliance, has been important for the analysis. Within this document are exposed best practices that relate to each aspect of sustainability. The research is qualitative in nature of a descriptive nature, using a narrative analysis of eleven selected dual agencies. To this end, the pandemic scenario was described, resilience dynamics were explored, and the incremental and radical innovation factors of dual travel agencies were identified. It was determined that, although the dual agencies demonstrated a high adaptability towards the crisis, most of them implemented strategies that in Schumpeter's words are an incremental innovation, because this process is more profitable from the economic and periodic perspective. On the other hand, the smallest part of the study group focused on radical innovation, contributing with new tools such as e-Marketing, personalized service and the use of new platforms. It is recognized that people's trends globally are constantly changing, especially after the impact of the pandemic, the behavior and way of carrying out daily activities was modified, as a result of this was the way of acquiring goods and services, so the main objective of this research is based on determining the relationship between the channels of purchase of air tickets and the current preferences of its users. To this end, information was collected through structured interviews with industry stakeholders and surveys conducted with passengers at the airport in Cuenca, Ecuador. The nature of the research problem and the proposed objectives led to the combination of bibliographic-documentary research with a mixed methodology that integrates quantitative and qualitative techniques. This made it possible to characterize the actors according to their purchasing preferences in online and offline channels. The results of the study reveal the impact of new technologies on the acquisition of airline tickets, as well as the focus on personalization of the service. In addition, it identifies the main characteristics to which users give the highest priority when purchasing a ticket, allowing companies in the tourism sector to seek to understand and satisfy the needs of their customers. The constant growth of the touristic activity has done that new pleasures and preferences arise, not only in terms about inbound tourism but outbound tourism too. This is the reason why the creation of a tourist profile is necessary to know the preferences, expectations and needs of tourists. Therefore, the present investigation has been divided into three chapters. The first chapter is about the forms of tourism, the outbound tourism in the world and then in Ecuador, operation and touristic intermediation regulation and finally the definition on destination. In the second chapter will be carried out the respective analysis according to the surveys made the international travel agencies IATA in the city of Cuenca. This topic will include the next aspects: socio-demographic, pleasures and preferences, modality of travel, main destinations, motivations, and months of greatest demand. The I-tur, does not have a manual of procedures to perform different activities, such as; providing tourist information, booking of tourist services, processing information for tourism statistics, supporting tourists, and others. In order to know the current situation of the I-Tur, a crossed SWOT technique was used, where the main activities that a procedure requires are identified. Then the processes were developed, which will enable the staff and interns to improve the response time.Item Manual Técnico de operación de sistemas de reserva y ventas dirigido a agencias de viajes internacionales no IATA de la ciudad de Cuenca(2019-08-02) Gálvez Guillén, Claudia Soraya; Sánchez Rodas, Lourdes MonserrathThe present intervention work consist in the proporsal of a technical manual for operation of computer booking systems and sales directed to non-IATA international travel agencies in the city of Cuenca In the work, information about the history of travel agencies in presented, the operation of reservation systems and sales that are handled within them; and finally, it also presents a manual, which meets the needs of those working in a travel agency, whit relevant content as: GDS, Amadeus, hotels, cruises, theme parks, advice on visas, travel insurance, car rental and sales over the internet. The methodology used was the qualitative method with the implementation interviews with counters agents, managers and wholesalers of tourism. As a result, it was observed that the technical manual is indispensable for the training of new staff, for the development of activities of the current staff, for the trainees carrying out their pre professional practices, and as a tool for knowledge updating.Item Perfil de los visitantes que escogen a Cuenca – Ecuador como un destino de turismo idiomático(2015) Campoverde Urgilés, Cristina Eulalia; Landi Pauta, María Inés; Sánchez Rodas, Lourdes MonserrathCuenca is one of the main tourist cities, due to fact that it has many attractions; undoubtedly, the most interesting are the cultural attractions, these attractions, make it a perfect city to visit and the declarations made by UNESCO in 2001, as a World Heritage city, provide added value for visitors. In the past 20 years,Cuenca has been considered for learning the language and for the cultural richness that Cuenca has. Language tourism or the study of the language, in this case Spanish, has increased dramatically in the entire world, for this reason the present research aims to find out information about of students who visit Cuenca. To reach this objective.This research has been divided into three chapters. The first chapter will focus briefly on the history of language tourism and history of the city of Cuenca. The second chapter will focus on analysis about socio- demography, motivations, preferences, trends and seasonality of the demand for language tourism. To obtain this information the researchers applied surveys to the students from spanish language school such us: Estudio Sampere, CEDEI (Centro de Estudios Iberoamericanos), Amauta Spanish School, Simón Bolivar Spanish School, Yanapuma Spanish School and the Spanish Program for foreing people that the Lenguage Institute at University has. In the final chapter the researchers will define the profile of students taking language tourism in the city of Cuenca. At the end, the conclusions reached during its development will be describe.
