Abstract
The Tourist Information Centre I-Tur of Cuenca city is a public entity that receives a large influx of foreign and domestic visitors every day; these visitors are the ones who request information of different kind. The I-tur, does not have a manual of procedures to perform different activities, such as; providing tourist information, booking of tourist services, processing information for tourism statistics, supporting tourists, and others. In order to know the current situation of the I-Tur, a crossed SWOT technique was used, where the main activities that a procedure requires are identified. Then the processes were developed, which will enable the staff and interns to improve the response time.
Resumen
El Centro de Información Turística i-Tur de la ciudad de Cuenca, entidad pública, diariamente recibe una gran afluencia de visitantes, nacionales y extranjeros; quienes solicitan información de diferente índole. El I-Tur, no cuenta con un manual de procedimientos para realizar las diferentes actividades, tales como: suministrar información turística, reserva de servicios turísticos, procesar información para estadísticas turísticas, apoyo a turistas, entre otros. Para conocer la situación actual del I-Tur, se aplicó la técnica del FODA cruzado, en donde se identificaron las principales actividades que requieren un procedimiento, luego se elaboraron los procesos, lo cual permitirá al personal y pasantes mejorar el tiempo de respuesta.
