Abstract
Tourism is one of the main economic activities that, worldwide, has grown exponentially, opening venues to generate a series of new services that aim at satisfying the needs of consumers. Therefore, the ‘free walking tour’ becomes a new alternative that allows tourists to visit sites of major interest without costs involved. Thus, the ‘free walking tour’ is a new alternative to do cultural tourism and has been incorporated into the touristic offer for the city of Cuenca. The research herein analyzes the ‘free walking tour’ option in the city of Cuenca, its main characteristics, the profile of the tourists who use the ´free walking tour’ as well as the customer satisfaction level with such option.
Resumen
El turismo es una de las principales actividades económicas que a nivel mundial ha crecido de manera exponencial abriendo espacios para que se creen una serie de nuevos servicios para ayudar a satisfacer las necesidades de los consumidores. De esta manera, el free walking tour surge como nueva alternativa que permite a los turistas visitar los sitios de mayor interés a través de recorridos gratuitos. Es así que el free walking tour es una nueva alternativa de turismo cultural que ha sido incorporada a la oferta turística de la ciudad de Cuenca. El siguiente estudio presenta un análisis del free walking tour de la ciudad de Cuenca, sus principales características, el perfil del turista que utiliza el free walking tour y su nivel de satisfacción con el mismo.
