Said information was provided by the cooperatives of public transport, which operates in the bus station of Cuenca through the digital means period 2017-2018. The research work has been conducted because it was observed that there is a carelessness in the diffusion of touristic information by the transport cooperatives that operate in the bus station. This investigation is relevant because the bus station is the main entrance and exit for national and international tourists to the city of Cuenca. Taking into consideration that the new technologies in the touristic field are at a global level is important, because nowadays tourist frequently use this type of transport. For the development of the present investigation, data was collected regarding the number of cooperatives, destinations, costs, frequencies, schedules, days of operation and estimated time captured in a matrix. Then, the evaluation of the perception of the tourist information in the digital media was carried out using surveys with quantitative date. Finally, parameters for the evaluation of touristic information were established to later translate it in a matrix for the evaluation of the digital media used by the public transport cooperatives that operate in the bus station.Item Análisis de las habilidades blandas en hoteles de categoría 4 estrellas de la ciudad de Cuenca periodo febrero-agosto 2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-10-24) Barros Sarango, Kathya Michelle; Lupercio Jarama, Daniela Priscila; Delgado Oleas, Nancy KarlaMajor technological advances are changing the way we relate to others. It has gradually ceased to relate directly to people to replace them with interaction with digital devices, software or applications. Great changes can be evidenced in human relationships, that is why, at present, soft skills take greater importance in various areas, both in the labor field and in social and academic life. These skills refer to personal and social attributes that allow us to interact effectively with others, establish strong relationships, and adapt to different situations. In the labor context, soft skills are highly valued by companies. As the work environment becomes more collaborative and team-oriented, skills such as effective communication, leadership ability, problem solving, empathy, and adaptability are considered critical to career success. These skills enable employees to build positive relationships with co-workers, customers, and superiors, and contribute to the company's growth and productivity. We are in a century of many economic changes, which requires being more competitive, generating new challenges for companies, and in turn, requiring more skills and capabilities from their employees. For the development of this project, it was proposed as the main objective to carry out an analysis of the main soft skills, in employees, of 4-star category hotels in the city of Cuenca, allowing to identify those skills that, within the industry, take greater relevance for an employer and how they help employees to perform in their working life effectively, aiming at the development of the emotional, interpersonal side and interaction within a society. To achieve the purpose, a market study was developed, with the use of surveys applied to employees and the use of interviews aimed at employers, allowing us to know how important soft skills are in the hotel industry and their impact on job performance. The research used a qualitative observational approach with a descriptive-experimental scope and cross-sectional section. Initially, an exhaustive literature search was conducted, followed by the development of gummies enriched with Costus igneus extract. Subsequently, a controlled experimental study was carried out with convenience sampling. The experimental group consumed one gummy daily for seven days, while glucose measurements were taken at three key times: the first day before and after ingesting the gummy, and again at the end of the consumption period. The Accu-Chek device was used for these measurements. In addition, the organoleptic characteristics of the product, such as taste and texture, were evaluated through surveys qualified with the Likert scale. This approach made it possible to analyze both the impact of regular consumption of the gummies on glucose levels and the acceptance of the product by the participants. The results obtained provide a basis for future research focused on the optimization of the product and its potential application as a food supplement in the control of blood glucose. This work combines a scientific approach with innovation in functional foods.Item Equidad de género dentro del mercado laboral hotelero. Estudio de caso: Hotel & Centro de Negocios Valgus. The hospitality industry stands out for having a high female presence. This study focuses on the Valgus Hotel & Business Center, located in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. Its main objective is to contextualize the fundamental characteristics of the hotel labor market in this city, investigating the situation of working men and women in the sector after the boom experienced in Cuenca. The main purpose of this study is to accurately represent the labor dynamics of those who make up this sector, belonging to the country's active labor force, and who are frequently affected by gender prejudices and discrimination in their labor roles. The primary purpose of making these challenges visible is to establish a more equitable and fair work environment for professionals in the tourism sector, promoting the full and efficient inclusion of all individuals who contribute to this productive area. In addition, it seeks to identify the jobs with the highest participation of women collaborators in this particular hotel and analyze whether these roles are linked to gender stereotypes or if they effectively ensure equality and equity for employees. This analysis delves into the gender situation in the workplace, especially in a context such as the hotel industry, where working conditions and opportunities for both men and women are evaluated and questioned. This study not only seeks to understand the distribution of work according to gender, but also seeks to promote fair, discrimination-free and merit-based working conditions, providing an inclusive environment that guarantees equal opportunities for all workers, regardless of their gender. This place stands out for its historic houses, festivities such as the celebrations in honor of the Señor de los Milagros, the festivals of the Cruces and Chicha Machay, as well as for its various natural sites such as the Cerro de Pillachiquir, Comúnloma, Loma de Guamán and the Quingeo River. This research shows a feasibility study for the implementation of a glamping in the parish of Quingeo, offering lodging services, gastronomy and recreational activities that take advantage of the local tourist richness. In addition to promoting the economic development of the parish, it seeks to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants, such as Mrs. Rosa Jiménez, owner of land in the area, who is interested in investing in the project if its viability is demonstrated. The methodology includes a detailed diagnosis of local needs, a technical study to evaluate the required infrastructure, a market analysis to understand potential demand, a financial feasibility study to ensure the economic sustainability of the project, and an environmental and social impact assessment to mitigate possible negative effects and maximize benefits for the community. This study was carried out using a mixed approach methodology through a quantitative study based on the compilation of data from the Ministry of Tourism as well as from different web sites in order to deepen the reality being studied. Variables such as location, capacity, services, advantages, and prices were considered in the study. Afterwards, a qualitative approach was applied using interviews so as to know the perception regarding the current situation of the hotel industry. As a result of this study, it could be perceived that the formal supply of guest houses is not enough for the boom of tourism. Besides, there is a huge informal supply which does not have license and operates without any inconvenient. This situation turns into an unfair competition difficult to overcome for the businessmen who have invested and want to work legally. This circumstance should be checked and improved for the benefit of the economic, cultural, and touristic development of the region. The work is structured in three chapters, which range from the problem statement to the strategies proposed to improve both demand and supply. In the first chapter, a diagnosis of the current situation of rural tourism in San Joaquín is presented. To this end, the geographical, cultural and social context of the parish was analyzed, as well as its natural and heritage resources. The main problems that limit the growth of the sector were also identified, including the lack of adequate infrastructure, the lack of promotion of local attractions and the lack of training in the management of tourism services. The second chapter describes a market analysis that identifies the profiles, motivations, and preferences of potential tourists. In addition, the current trends in rural tourism and how they could be adapted to the reality of San Joaquín are explored. In the third chapter, concrete strategies are proposed to improve the tourism offer, such as the development of thematic routes, the creation of alliances with tour operators, the training of the community and the promotion of cultural and gastronomic events. Hotel Italia, an accommodation establishment that is categorized by the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador as a third-class institution, corresponding to 3 stars. Through the analysis of Hotel Italia's internal and external factors, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that affect its competitiveness in the market were identified, where the main tourist profile has been defined. With this information, strategies were defined to improve the hotel services and products, with the aim of strengthening its corporate branding. Qualitative and quantitative methods with a descriptive analysis were used in the research. Based on the data collected, the foundations were laid for a proposal that strengthens Hotel Italia's services and products. This unique establishment proposes to offer guests a memorable experience by immersing them in a themed environment, highlighting the country's abundant cultural and natural diversity. The cultural and community focus of this project sets it apart, as it seeks not only to adopt eco-friendly practices, but also to promote awareness and respect for cultural diversity, thus enriching the visitor's experience. The proposal aims to position the Sidcay parish as a tourist destination, allowing visitors to delve into the culture, history and traditions of Ecuador's diverse regions. The use of information and communication technologies in the hotel industry is of great importance and has multiple benefits as they have revolutionized the way hotels operate, improving efficiency, service quality and customer experience. The use of these tools for communication and marketing in hotel companies, through websites or social networks, are part of the strategies that are currently used to carry out brand promotion and dissemination processes as a way to build loyalty and attract New customers. This research aims to propose communication and marketing strategies through the use of ICTs in three three-star hotels in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. Casa Merced, Casa Ruth and Hotel Majestic are the establishments studied. The collection of information through semi-structured interviews with managers and staff in charge of the communication and marketing department, surveys and participatory observations, allow the information to be compiled and processed from a mixed approach. Caso Hostal Amancay(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-11-28) Ávila Mendieta, Daniel Alfonso; Segovia Benalcázar, Carmen Andrea; Delgado Oleas, Nancy KarlaThe purpose of this intervention project is to develop digital marketing strategies oriented to the product, price and promotion of Hostal Amancay, as well as to grant the necessary guidelines to facilitate its implementation. Hostal Amancay is a 2-star tourist accommodation establishment, located at Calle Gran Colombia 10-51 and Padre Aguirre, in the city of Cuenca- Ecuador. The establishment was registered in the Tourist Cadaster in July 2017. It has 12 rooms with private bathroom, distributed between singles, doubles, triples and suites. Currently, it has services of: cable TV, restaurant, Wi-Fi, laundry, room service, currency exchange, excursions, yoga classes and bar.To develop this document, bibliographic reviews, field visits to the facilities, surveys, interviews with the manager and staff were used. It was considered necessary to segment into 3 chapters; chapter 1 being the current situation of the establishment. Both the theoretical basis and the analysis of data obtained with the surveys can be visualized within chapter 2, finally chapter 3 includes the proposed strategies to improve the price, product and promotion using digital marketing tools. Surveys were conducted with a representative sample of guests in order to receive their perceptions about the product, the promotion, price and the measures that the establishment could implement in the post-pandemic framework. The surveys were designed and shared through the Google Forms platform and tabulated using the Survey Heart app. Considering that it is proposed to apply the proposed marketing strategies and technologies in the future, this establishment will have a diffusion not only local or national, but international, thanks to the use and greater dynamization of advertising, which will be directly linked to the price to know how to cope with temporality. It is opportune to implement strategies in the hotel establishment taking into account that the pandemic has become an opportunity to reinvent itself and take better advantage of technological tools. Through this proposal, it is intended to guide the administrators of the inn, so that, according to their needs and possibilities, they replace the empirical administration that they are currently developing with an administration based on processes, systems, techniques and appropriate strategies. A mixed research process was followed to develop the proposal. First, a bibliographic analysis of the different administration models was carried out, later, as to determine the problems of the current administrative system of the inn, the internal administrative system was diagnosed; a comparative table of the current situation of the establishment with the current accommodation regulations in which the percentage of compliance with the established requirements is indicated, and finally a SERVQUAL survey was applied to measure the quality of the inn service. From this evaluation, the key points were obtained to design the hotel management model that improves the operation in the different areas of the establishment, increases the quality of hotel services and in turn generates greater productivity in the inn.Item Propuesta de un manual de procedimientos para el servicio pet friendly en hoteles cinco estrellas de la ciudad de Cuenca. The evolution of this trend, especially in five-star hotels, nowadays, represents the inclusion of variants that also seek to satisfy the basic needs of pets during their stay. The main purpose is to optimize the promotion and marketing of the establishment, taking advantage of the fundamental strategies of the 4 P's of the Marketing mix. The lack of a marketing plan has resulted in a significant limitation to attract customers efficiently. The project is structured in three key stages: exhaustive diagnosis of the current situation, design and detailed elaboration of the marketing plan with specific strategies for attracting new customers, and a phase of socialization and dissemination of the plan. The research methodology includes the detailed analysis of the environment, surveys aimed at 150 clients, elaboration of the SWOT matrix, cross-SWOT and PESTEL analysis. As a whole, the project seeks to strengthen and position the Capillapamba Tourist Complex in the competitive rural tourism market.Item Propuesta de un plan de marketing para el posicionamiento en el mercado de una marca hotelera, caso: “Hotel Rosamia”(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-08-04) Matailo Carchi, Karina Alexandra; Delgado Oleas, Nancy KarlaThe present titling work has focused on the proposal of a marketing plan for the hotel Rosamia located in the historic center of the city of Cuenca, province of Azuay, for this a situational study of the establishment was carried out through an analysis of the macroenvironment, microenvironment and strategic, which allowed to identify the external and internal factors that can affect the hotel. Likewise, resources, capabilities, and competitive advantages were evaluated to identify opportunities and challenges, through tools such as the SWOT matrix, EFE and EFI matrices. To this, a market study was added, in which important data was collected on the preferences, perceptions and needs of potential customers of the Rosamia hotel, in addition to obtaining valuable information to adapt the services and the value proposition of the hotel to the specific demands of each segment. Finally, it was possible to develop a proposal for a marketing mix plan to increase the profits of the Rosamia hotel, strengthening its image and positioning in the tourism market of Cuenca. Where key elements of marketing were addressed, such as the hotel's service offering, competitive pricing strategies, the appropriate distribution channel, and effective communication and promotion strategies.Item Propuesta de un plan de posicionamiento digital enfocado en el área de repostería: Caso Tortatelier(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-09-11) Quezada Samaniego, Andrea Nicole; Vélez Bonete, Karen Lissbeth; Delgado Oleas, Nancy KarlaThe objective of this study is to develop specific strategies to improve the digital positioning of the Tortatelier pastry shop, located in the city of Cuenca. The positioning plan includes digital marketing techniques aimed at increasing the visibility of the establishment, with the purpose of improving its sales by at least 50% in a period of 6 months. To define the strategies, both the results of the interviews with owners of two establishments and success stories in digital marketing in the pastry area were used, as well as those obtained through the application of surveys aimed at frequent consumers of the Tortatelier. In the first case, with the intention of knowing the most used and effective techniques in the current digital marketing market and in terms of market research to identify the preferences in the consumption of content of their potential customers. To achieve the above, three objectives have been proposed, the first, to diagnose the current situation of tourist attractions and services that the canton has, the second, the updating of the tourist services cadaster of the Sígsig canton, and finally, the proposal of strategies for the reactivation in areas related to the tourist activity in the canton. Mixed research was achieved through the application of interviews, surveys, observations, field visits, among others. The research has managed to assess the current state of the canton regarding the tourist attractions and the consequences of the effects of the pandemic. It has also been possible to update the cadaster of tourist services taking into account accommodation, catering and intermediation. To conclude, strategies are proposed that contribute to the tourist reactivation of the Sígsig canton after the Covid-19 health emergency.
