Item Percepciones de los terapeutas: un análisis fenomenológico de la terapia cognitivo conductual para la prevención del suicidio en Cuenca en el periodo 2024 - 2025(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-02-18) Arcentales López, María Paz; Paute Nieves, Walter Alexander; Delgado Quezada, Tania LorenaSuicide represents a global challenge that impacts people of all ages, genders, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and is a topic that has been widely studied from various psychological approaches. Within this framework, this research focuses on exploring the perceptions and experiences of therapists in Cuenca regarding the application of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for suicide prevention during the period 2024-2025. The specific objectives include, on the one hand, identifying therapists' perceptions about the effectiveness of CBT in suicide prevention and, on the other, describing their experiences in the implementation of this therapy in this context. The research adopts a qualitative approach, with a phenomenological design and a descriptive scope, aimed at understanding these perspectives in depth. To do so, semi-structured interviews, validated by experts, will be used, complemented by a sociodemographic form to characterize the participants. Data analysis, conducted through a qualitative thematic approach to the transcripts and the Atlas ti, allowed us to identify and organize the information into two main axes: therapists' perceptions of the effectiveness of CBT in suicide prevention and their practical experiences during its implementation. The findings highlight that CBT is perceived as a highly effective tool to reduce suicide risk, provided that its application is adequate, comprehensive and flexible, facing and overcoming contextual barriers.
