Abstract
The first years of life are essential for an aproppiate integrated development of children
because those are the moments they are exposed to a number of stimuli, which will
influence their growth whit activities that benefit their motor, social, cognitive, and
communicational skills. This will definitely have an impact on childrens future learning;
however, this might also be affected because of prenatal, perinatal, or postnatal factors.
Therefore, this study aims to identify the psychomotor development of the children
attending Bilingual School, using the Brunet-Lezine test.
General objective
To determine the psychomotor development of children attending Interamerican
Bilingual School.
Methodology
This is a descriptive and quantitative study. The purpose was to evaluate the
psychomotor development of four- to six -year-old children attending Interamerican
Bilingual School using the Brunet-Lezine test. The results were tabulated using the
statistical software IBM SPSS, version 22
Results
The results show that 47% of the participants were male, in regard to the socioeconomic
status, the middle level is prevalent at 82,4%; and 53,71% of their parents have been to
college. Finally, 96,25% of the participants show appropriate development, and 3,75%
show deficiency in their development.
Resumen
Los primeros años de vida son fundamentales para un adecuado desarrollo integral en
el niño, pues es el momento en el cual se expone a una gran cantidad de estímulos que
influirán en su desarrollo actual con actividades que favorecen habilidades motrices,
sociales, cognitivas, comunicativas que por ende tendrá implicaciones en sus futuros
aprendizajes; sin embargo, este progreso puede verse afectado debido a diferentes
factores ya sea prenatales, perinatales o posnatales. En virtud de ello se desarrolló el
presente estudio a fin de conocer el desarrollo psicomotor de los niños y niñas de
preparatoria de la Unidad Educativa Bilingüe, mediante el test Brunet Lezine.
Objetivo general
Determinar el Desarrollo Psicomotor de los niños y niñas de Preparatoria de la Unidad
Educativa Bilingüe Interamericana
Metodología
Estudio descriptivo, cuantitativo; se realizó la evaluación del Desarrollo Psicomotor a
niños y niñas de 4 a 6 años de edad, que asisten a la Unida Educativa “Bilingüe
Interamericana” mediante el Test Brunet Lezine. Los resultados fueron tabulados con el
programa estadístico IBM SPSS versión 22.
Resultados
En la presente investigación, el 47,5% de la población estudio corresponden al sexo
masculino; en el nivel socioeconómico predomina el nivel medio con el 82,4%; en el
nivel de instrucción de los padres el 53,75% pertenece al tercer nivel. En cuanto al
desarrollo el 96.25% tienen un desarrollo adecuado y el 3,75% tienen un retraso en el
desarrollo.
