The present study aimed to analyze the importance of the evaluation of motor development in Physical Education as the basis of school sports. For this, a search was carried out with two academic browsers such as Dialnet and Google Academic during the last 10 years. The results in English and at a general level on motor skills are abundant, however, at a specific level, to assess motor skills with projection to sport in school, they are scarce. It was found that there are various proposals for the evaluation of motor development, although there are few updated studies that analyze Physical Education as the basis of school sports. The strengths of using the 3JS instrument are analyzed as a sample that motor evaluation applied to the field of Education with sports projection is possible.

Las personas drogodependientes y la práctica planificada, sistemática de ejercicio físico en los centros de rehabilitación de adicciones
(2022) Arias Maldonado, Bryan Jonnathan; Aldas Arcos, Helder Guillermo
The planned and systematic practice of physical exercise and sports in addiction rehabilitation centers is deficient. The objective of this study is to reveal the intention of patients in addiction rehabilitation centers towards the planned and systematic practice of physical exercise and sports as a key factor. Sixty people between the ages of 17 and 72 years, with a mean of 34 years and a standard deviation of 14, from two important rehabilitation centers in the province of Azuay participated in the study. A questionnaire object of study previously validated by specialists in the area was applied. The results show that the majority (85%) of the patients of these addiction rehabilitation centers intend to practice physical exercise in a planned and systematic way two to four days a week due to the benefits that this practice has in their rehabilitation process. Furthermore, 98.3% of the surveyed population agrees that t is type of practice contributes to the use of their free time as a way of living together within a society without using drugs. It is concluded that the planned and systematic practice of physical exercise and sports for people in the process of addiction rehabilitation is essential for the proper use of free time and mainly as an alternative to inhibit anxiety due to the absence of psychotropic drugs since physical exercise generates chemical substances such as dopamine, serotonin, endorphins, adrenaline, and noradrenaline, which produce similar sensations that people in the process of drug use rehabilitation need to feel.

La periodización del entrenamiento deportivo. Un modelo clásico en la formación deportiva. Fundamentos teórico-metodológicos
(2015) Gutiérrez Cayo, Henry; Aldas Arcos, Helder Guillermo
Today's coaches have adopted new models in the process of preparing national team athletes and high performance, which differ from those proposed by relatively precursors of sports training theories. But for sports initiation process and lower categories, yet can be used effectively, the theoretical and methodological fundamentals of the periodization of Matveev, 19652001, as the number of core competencies for these categories range from one to two a year, having a moderate time between both competitions, allowing a periodization schedule according to the two competitions in the macrocycle, structuring periods, stages, mesocycles, microcycles respectively. In determining charges (volume and intensity) along the coach, structures should consider several aspects; including the biological, chronological and sports age, gender, sport characterization, the volume of the load applied in the previous macrocycle, objectives and date of the core competence. In the present study is a proposal to implement volume of cargo in the macrocycle structures from the sport initiation.

(2020) Buñay Buñay, Francisco Javier; Loaiza Dávila, Lenin Esteban; Ávila Mediavilla, Carlos Marcelo; Aldas Arcos, Helder Guillermo
The success that a coach can have in selecting a talent in a competitive sport such as Olympic weightlifting will depend a lot on the criteria applied, fundamentally considering the specific characteristics of the sport and the conditions that a child or adolescent must have to to be considered within the sports elite. Undoubtedly, there are many criteria for selecting a talent, from an empirical process to using physiological, body composition and genetic parameters. For this reason, the objective of this study was to determine the most efficient and scientifically proven criteria for selecting talents for Olympic weightlifting, through a systematic review of the various criteria used worldwide, to be considered and applied, in order to to unify them and to serve as a guide to the technicians of this sport at a national and international level. The search for studies was carried out in ten scientific databases, determining the publications of the last 30 years in English and Spanish with a filter by relevance. Sixteen potential articles that met the parameters established for the present systematic review were determined. A predominance of parameters that evaluate explosive strength, body composition and somatotype was evidenced. Systematizing the criteria to be considered as the most objective: calculation of the somatotype, the deep squat vertical jump test, the long jump without impulse run, the throw of the 2kg medicine ball and the snatch squat test.

(2018) Avila Mediavilla, Carlos Marcelo; Jarrin Navas, Santiago Alejandro; Aldas Arcos, Helder Guillermo
The professors of the chairs of the educational institutions of basic, superior and baccalaureate education, even more in Higher Education, have sometimes considered that the physical culture, physical education, and physical activity, do not represent a substantial contribution in the integral formation of the student in the levels of concretion of knowledge. There is no evidence of the protocols proposed to address or understand the relevance or importance that physical activity can have on the academic performance of university students. The fundamental objective of this research is to determine the relationship between physical activity, psychomotor actions that produce caloric expenditure through play, recreational and sports actions to improve physical and mental health and academic performance, which is the ability to respond satisfactorily to educational stimuli developed through the teaching - learning process to obtain a level of functioning and academic achievements over a period of time, which constitute a fundamental part for the integral and professional education of the student. The research is of a contemporary type, socially adapted to involve the spheres of knowledge, psychomotor, cognitive, affective and social, being the case that through surveys to students and teachers, it was determined that physical activity significantly influences academic performance of university students.

Nivel de actividad física en universitarios ecuatorianos antes y durante el confinamiento
(2023) Barreto Andrade, Jorge Antonio; Aldas Arcos, Helder Guillermo; Cobos Bermeo, Nelson Albino; Bravo Navarro, Wilson Hernando
The WHO established a world health emergency, confinement and social distancing for COVID-19. The purpose of the study was to determine the level of physical activity (PA) in Ecuadorian university students before and during confinement. A total of 1033 students (446 males and 587 females) from the Universities of Cuenca and the Catholic University of Cuenca, with a mean age of 23.23 years, participated in the study. The sample was selected by convenience, with a confidence level of 95% and a sampling error of 5%. The short version of the IPAQ questionnaire was used, which was applied online. The data were analyzed with the SPSS program, applying the Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistics, Pearson's coefficient test, t-test and independent samples tests. The students increased their weight (31.95%); in PA before and during quarantine by sex, there is a low but significant correlation; while, by age, there is a significant correlation in intense PA before confinement; and, in moderate PA and walking during isolation. Likewise, there is an increase in weight, a significant decrease in intense PA, being greater in men, slight in moderate PA, and in walking decreased in both sexes, and the time spent sitting increased. Confinement had a negative influence on the decrease in PA practice and increased sedentary lifestyle; women adapted better to confinement than men.
