Item Análisis de dos métodos de medición equidad de género, aplicados en Latinoamérica; beneficios que obtienen las organizaciones y empresas(Universidad de Cuenca, 2017) Ramírez, Fernanda Y.This is a review of the two methodologies applied in Latin America, that can be beneficial in the organizations and companies that measure gender equity, and could be applied in or context This document also analyzed the legal framework and public policies, to gender equality in the organizations is no longer merely declaratory and becomes effective in bridging the gap between men and women. In addition, it addresses gender equity since education, it is known that women and men has equal terms to prepared, however, there is no equity in laboral participation and same conditions. Finally, show the benefits in terms of productivity, which has the implementation of measures and plans of gender equity for companies and organizations by improving the work climate and the publicity of companies with gender equity.Item Calidad en el servicio público: una experiencia personal de aprendizaje y adaptación(Universidad de Cuenca, 2017) Tenesaca, VíctorThe Constitution of Ecuador (2008) in its article 227, talks about the principles governing public administration and among them stands out one that is familiar to every Industrial Engineer: quality. This article describes a personal experience in the public sector in the specific area of quality and for this purpose, two specific cases are presented: The first is the improvement plan for direct care units and under the agreement of the Ministerio de Inclusión Económica y Social, MIES, developed between the years 2014 and 2015 and that was elaborated by its Department of Service Quality staff. The other talks about the work done actually by the Department of Evaluation and Accreditation of Universities and Polytechnic Schools of the Consejo de Evaluación, Acreditación y Aseguramiento de la Calidad, CEAACES, for the improvement of higher education in Ecuador. First, it presents the tools and methods that were designed and used in order to solve problems in the area of social services and on second, the experience of working in an area of high complexity such as higher education. It is intended to show both the way in which a problem is solved through the design and construction of specific tools, as well as possible scenarios of performance and application of knowledge for the engineer.Item Determinación de la preferencia en millennials de productos, presentaciones y envases de bebidas personales para el desayuno a través de análisis conjunto(Universidad de Cuenca, 2017) Romo Urgilés, Pablo Cornelio; Llivisaca Villazhañay, Juan CarlosVhe purpose of this study is to provide a context about the attributes that outline consumers¢ preferences toward the products that are supplied by the local industry of milks and beverages. This paper analyzes product, presentation, and packaging preferences of Millennials for personal breakfast beverages using Conjoint Analysis. Data was obtained using a survey applied to 200 students of the Languages Institute of University of Cuenca (Ecuador) between October and November, 2016. In this context, Conjoint Analysis was used with a full profile conjoint design following a detailed methodological procedure. Ordinary Least Squares Multiple Regression was used to formulate three different types of preference models: an individual model for each participant, a model for each socio-economic group, and a general aggregated model for the analyzed sample. Results show that globally, the type of packaging (41,07%) and the size of the presentation (31,16%) are more relevant attributes than the type of product (27,77%) to establish a consumer¢s preference for a personal breakfast beverage.Item Filosofías de gestión de la producción(Universidad de Cuenca, 2017) Moura Jardim, Eduardo Galvão; Sarmento Costa, RicardoThe main objective of this article is to reflect on three philosophies of production management that have evolved over the years and remain in the interest of organizations from different sectors of society. They are known internationally by the expressions LEAN, ToC (Theory of Constraints) and SCM (Supply Chain Management). Its origins, concepts, characteristics and central differences are reviewed here shortly. In this sense, the aim is, firstly, to align perceptions and to identify the dynamic contemporary life scenarios that give them more and more importance for the prosperity of the business. It should be noted, however, that the success and maintenance of such philosophies in a given system depend decisively on the decisions, skills and behavior of those operating it at different hierarchical levels. Although not being the panacea for solving all the evils of a company, LEAN, TOC or SCM and their implementation and use tools have been adapted to different circumstances with different emphases and denominations. Examples of such situations are finally cited as a concrete indication that the efforts made in this regard by the corporations involved have been helpful.Item Identificación de riesgos laborales en los talleres de metales, maderas, cerámicas y aula de pintura en la facultad de artes de la Universidad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2017) Cabrera, Juana; Alvarez, XimenaUniversities are centers of study where health protection should be a primary concern to maintain a healthy style of life within the university environment. The University of Cuenca has a policy which incorporates all existing requirements to ensure safety and welfare within the university community. According with this policy was designed a Management System Security for workshops and painting classroom of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Cuenca. Management Systems Occupational Health and Safety incorporate ideal tools to prevent, eliminate and mitigate the working conditions that are potentially dangerous. Furthermore, it was proposed a management system in occupational safety and health that incorporates tools to prevent, eliminate and mitigate working conditions that are potentially dangerous. This technical note is part of the model of security management for the workshops of metals, wood, ceramics and painting classroom of the Faculty of Arts designed for the University of Cuenca. The security management system was designed to be applied to the teaching-learning environment in a useful, practical and sustainable manner over time, which will reduce exposure to risks. The study identifies the physical, mechanical, chemical, ergonomic and psychosocial risks, with the aim of creating in the teachers and students awareness of the importance of occupational safety during academic training and in their professional practice contributing to the prevention of accidents and occupational illnesses.Item Internet de las cosas en el ámbito de los sistemas de planificación colaborativa de previsión y reabastecimiento(2017) Cortés Pellicer, PascualInternet of Things (IoT) concept refers to a network of everyday objects connected through Internet. This concept is producing significant changes in the use that is given to certain objects and is having a considerable impact in the activities that are realized in the companies. Thus, everything could be an information generator, being more immediately available to the occurrence of events. This aspect can be taken by companies as advantage to know more quickly and better the operation of their business and their environment. The Collaborative Planning Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR) is the business management initiative that offers greater collaboration and visibility through the Supply Chain (SC). The IoT, based on RFID cards, could be an special relevance tool in scenarios of CPFR, where it is fundamental to share certain information, to plan with more precision and to respond more effectively along the value chain. The objective of the present article is to analyze the utility of IoT in a CPFR context.Item Una mirada a la televisión digital por tecnologías IPTV a través de la red de cobre con tecnología ADSL(Universidad de Cuenca, 2017) Guamán, FranklinThe need to be informed has led man to look for immediate mechanisms of communication, to be aware of the evolution process of the planet and in some way, become a fundamental element of this evolution. As time goes by, new information technologies have become one of the most important means of human development, as well as a cultural and intellectual supplement, and a lifestyle. Traditional communication services such as television are being influenced by the development of new technologies and it¢s necessary to reshape new platforms for the coming decades. The most important aspect of this evolution is the convergence of analogue to digital television. This article presents a synthesis of the study of digital television using the Internet Protocol (IPTV) through the copper network with ADSL technology (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) which is, at present, the alternative mainly for broadband networks to traditional platforms of digital television- incorporating the traditional world of television broadcasting services with the online access world, as well as provide technical concepts, necessary conditions to deliver the service, operation, main protocols for digital transmission, minimum requirements, advantages and disadvantages of the service.Item Posibles impactos de la fabricación aditiva en la cadena de suministro(Universidad de Cuenca, 2017) Vintimilla, PaolaThe present work analyzes on the bibliography the intervention of Additive Manufacturing or 3-D Printing in Supply Chain and proposes possible future scenarios where levels and actors of the chain are modified. The 3-D printing is constantly evolving and is gradually being part of production systems, modifying the production and distribution processes to which we are used to. The possible impacts of Additive Manufacturing on Supply Chain that are proposed in this work are determinated by the stages found on the bibliography and by mixed models, they are as follows: First stage: Prototyping, Second Stage: 3-D printing for final parts or products in factory or commerce, Third Stage: 3-D Printing at Home, Mixed Model 1: Factory and Home Printing, and Mixed Model 2: Home Printing with Brand Authorization. The different scenarios are also compared to each other according the SCOR model, which determines the participation or not of certain actors of the Supply Chain and the modification on production and distribution systems.Item Rol del ingeniero industrial en el sector público Ecuatoriano(Universidad de Cuenca, 2017) Burneo Celi, VanessaThe role of the Industrial Engineer has evolved over the years, currently it has solid bases to fulfill a work of integral manager of all the resources of the organization, expanding its field of action to diverse areas, leaving aside his work only in the industry of goods production and transferring their knowledge to the services production. The current Ecuadorian public sector aims to improve its processes, working methods and the systems organization to provide a quality service to citizens, with efficiency and effectiveness. This research seeks to determine the contribution that the Industrial Engineer can offer to the Ecuadorian public sector, by comparing the competencies developed during their higher studies and the competencies that this sector needs.Item The role of the industrial engineer in an Energy system development(Universidad de Cuenca, 2017) Ortiz Ulloa, Juvenal AlejandroMultiple renewable and more efficient nonrenewable energy systems are studied these days. It is thought that this task only concerns to some specialized fields like chemistry, mechanics, electricity or hydraulics. However, The Industrial Engineering provide a group of skills to add value to any energy related study. An energy system means many interconnected aspects such as: the primary energy source, the conversion process, the desired product and the demand. All of them are variables that must be studied as one system. An Industrial Engineer has unique planning and managing abilities to optimize and manage the resources used in energy projects. This study shows some applications of the Industrial Engineer profile in the developing of a new energy system.
