Item Acabados: experimentación en pisos de tierra. Caso de estudio: sector de Guncay de la parroquia rural de El Valle del cantón Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-09-26) Heredia Viñan, Joseph Oswaldo; Zalamea León, Esteban FelipeThe construction of earthen floors represents a sustainable alternative to current construction processes that rely on concrete floors, which generate non-reusable debris and have a high environmental impact due to the production of prefabricated materials such as cement, ceramics, vinyl, and pvc. In this context, the present experimental study aims to design a mix formulation for stabilized earthen floors using local materials from the Guncay sector, a rural parish of El Valle, in the canton of Cuenca. The soil in the study area was characterized through field and laboratory tests, applying methodologies from the Peruvian Technical Standard E.080, the Ibero-American Protierra Network Protocol, and adapted studies from the NTE INEN standard. Based on these data, experimental formulations were developed incorporating natural stabilizers (such as cabuya fiber and rice husk) as well as other compounds such as lime, cement, and polyvinyl acetate. Subsequently, compression and moisture absorption tests were conducted on samples with different formulations to determine an optimal base mix, which was then used to construct six test panels on-site. Finally, waterproofing products were applied to the developed prototypes to evaluate their resistance to abrasion, moisture, stains, and chemical agents. In this way, a low environmental impact formulation was identified, allowing it to be considered as a viable flooring alternative in rural construction contexts.Item Accesibilidaden el espacio público para personas con movilidad reducida. Cuenca como caso de estudio(2017) Bustos Piedra, María Elisa; Marín Palacios, Mateo Sebastian; Hermida Palacios, María AugustaAccessibility and mobility in urban public space is a key component to cities sustainability. However, mobility’s planning has strongly privileged motorized vehicles, leaving pedestrians and people with reduced mobility behind as last term. This investigation presents a study that generates an accessibility index in 214 sections choose around the city using stratified random. On the basis of two variables, the first one was verifying the extent of compliance of the regulation for accessibility in public space for people with reduced mobility “Ordenanza Municipal sobre Discapacidad de Cuenca” valid since 2010. Seventeen parameters were analyzed in each section, that were grouped in 67 routes. The second variable was the identified obstacles that impede an appropriate mobility and the difficulty of overcoming them. For the obstacles mapping there were carried our three different journeys: without simulation, with simulation of reduced mobility using a baby stroller or a wheel chair and with wheelchair users, that helped validate the data obtained with simulation. The results indicate a critical condition of accessibility in Cuenca and a significant difference between journeys made with simulation and wheelchair users; therefore, a series of intervention models are proposed based on the most representative obstacles and the experience of wheelchair users, aiming to improve accessibility in the built environment. Loja entre el rio Yanuncay y Don Bosco.(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-07-31) Valdiviezo León, Nicole Stephany; Cardoso Martínez, Fausto AdriánRestoration project of the Casa Dominguez, a heritage house, with the aim of encouraging heritage acupuncture and promoting heritage conservation. The methodological approach combines the participation of different actors with research throughout the process. Case studies of interventions in heritage buildings in Calle las Herrerías and Plaza del Herrero are examined to extract guidelines applicable to a specific section of Avenida Loja. The diagnostic process includes the collection of information on the Casa Dominguez and its urban environment, with the participation of a group of key actors. A self- diagnosis is carried out and a co-creation workshop is held with the owners of the house to share information and proposals about the intervention. Various alternatives are presented and the opinion of the stakeholders is assessed. Finally, the proposal is validated by selecting the most appropriate one based on the prioritization of the stakeholders related to the Casa Dominguez.Item La acústica y su influencia en el entorno urbano(1990) Gómez Zambrano, Wilder Wladimir; Montero Calle, RodrigoItem Adaptaciones del patrimonio arquitectónico: intervención urbano - arquitectónica en la Casa Moreno Dentro del Corredor Cultural UCuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-07-17) García Palacios, María Daniela; Carvallo Ochoa, Juan PabloThe University of Cuenca has several cultural facilities: a theater, a museum, auditoriums, libraries, and maintains a direct urban link with the historic El Vado neighborhood, where it has five heritage houses, including Casa Moreno. Currently, the Casa Moreno, acquired in 2009, is uninhabited and the others are partially occupied by offices of different university departments, which makes urban life passive in its immediate context, since administrative activities limit interaction with the community. In the same way, the houses do not have a spatial connector or a program that integrates and connects them. Under these conditions, the research proposes the preliminary design of a cultural center in Casa Moreno that integrates into the program of Corredor Cultural UCuenca, starting in April 2023 and developed in parallel with this research project, which aims to revitalize the University’s heritage houses to serve the whole community through the implementation of mixed uses dedicated to art and culture. The study begins with the exploration of basic concepts that allow a general understanding of the urban and architectural characteristics of cultural projects, as well as their objectives and effects on the city and its heritage. Next, the architectural program is built, supported by an interdisciplinary methodology guided by the Department Ciudad Universitaria, by the analysis of the immediate urban environment, the review of the regulations and the documentary and architectural analysis of Casa Moreno. Finally, the intervention criteria are established through the application of restoration theories and case studies. The proposal for the new Cultural Center in Casa Moreno is closely related to the activity plan of the UCuenca Cultural Corridor project. At the same time, it aims to adapt to the dynamics of the neighborhood while exploring and enhancing the spatial qualities of the house. The project involves a close relationship with artistic activities, facilitating their free development and creative flow. Both the procedures and the outcome of the research serve as guides for future cultural projects that require adaptation to the built heritage in the City.Item La administración y control en obras de arquitectura:(2001) Cordero Guzmán, Américo; Montero Calle, RodrigoItem El adobe en la construcción de viviendas(1980) Malo Vega, Santiago; Muñoz Larrea, María del Carmen; Piedra Landívar, CésarItem El agua como elemento arquitectónico(2010-11-11) Luzuriaga Hermida, María Esther; Solis P., Javier Eduardo; Hidalgo Castro, Edgar PatricioItem Algunas alternativas de aislamiento térmico aplicadas a cáscaras de hormigón(1989) Garcés O., Edison; Ordóñez Castro, Galo Alfredo; Palacios D., Mauricio; Cordero Gulá, Raúl EstebanItem Alternativa de ordenamiento territorial de los corredores de A.M.C.(1985) Cáceres, C.; Salazar, V.; Villavicencio, Jorge; Vintimilla, F.; Cordero Cueva, Juan FernandoItem Alternativa para la construcción mediante el uso de bloques tierra serrín cemento(1991) Buñay V., Wilson; Guzmán C., Patricia; Monsalve T., Gustavo; Montero Calle, RodrigoItem Alternativas constructivas en ladrillo industrial visto armado y su articulación con elementos en madera(2009) Altamirano Altamirano, Milton Eduardo; Vásquez, MarceloItem Alternativas de hormigones alivianados con cascote de ladrillo, desperdicio de teja y cerámicos(1993) Cárdenas, Rolando; Montero Calle, RodrigoItem Alternativas de hormigones alivianados con deshechos vegetales para la construcción de bloques(1991) Cabrera V., José Luis; Carangui F., José Marcelo; Cordero Gulá, Raúl EstebanItem Alternativas de localización y diseño de nuevo parque industrial de Cuenca(1988-11-11) Albarracín E., Jorge; Balcazar R., Genry; Contreras C., Marco; Pauta Calle, Víctor FernandoItem Alternativas de recreación en las márgenes del río Isimanchi(1997) Encalada Núñez, Jimmy Alexánder; Cordero Domínguez, OswaldoItem Alternativas de usos recreacionales en las márgenes de los ríos del área urbana de Cuenca(1995) Astudillo y A., Daniel; Lozada M., Carlos; Morocho Q., Patricio; Orellana C., Sebastián; Cordero Cueva, Juan FernandoItem Alternativas de vivienda móvil y prefabricada(2007) Cuesta Marcelo; Vintimilla, Juan Fernando; Terán Burneo, JorgeItem Alternativas de vivivenda en propiedad horizontal de interés social aplicado a la ciudad de Cuenca(2009) Vintimilla E., Johanna; Zúñiga López, Marcelo
