Item Análisis comparativo de hábitos alimentarios, composición corporal y condición física, entre estudiantes de bachillerato de una institución educativa urbana y rural(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-09-12) Coronel Matute, Raúl Ismael; Jiménez Puglla, Ariel Eduardo; Contreras Calle, Wilson TeodoroIn today's educational field, the social, physical and emotional changes of students are constantly evolving, leading to changes in their eating habits, body composition and physical condition. For this reason, during adolescence it is important to detect the levels of these variables in time, in order to know the relationship between them; and based on that, to establish recommendations given by the World Health Organization (WHO) to prevent future diseases and improve the health of students. The objective of this study is to analyze the eating habits, body composition and physical condition level, among high school students of an urban and rural educational institution of the city of Cuenca in the school period 2023-2024. A total of 146 students with a mean age of 16 ± 1.5 years, belonging to an urban and rural educational institution, selected probabilistically by cluster, participated in the study. In the first instance, a food consumption frequency questionnaire was applied; after that, the high priority Alpha-Fitness battery was carried out to assess the body composition and physical condition of the students. The results obtained show a good physical condition on the part of the men and a regular level in the women; likewise, the BMI and waist circumference reported normal values. However, in terms of dietary habits, most of the participants showed an inadequate consumption of nutrients and ultra-processed foods. Finally, there was an association between BMI and waist circumference and physical condition, while no relationship was found with eating habits.Item Análisis comparativo de la agilidad en escolares de básica media de dos instituciones educativas: una rural y una urbana(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-09-11) Quezada Murillo, Diego Denilson; Narváez Arévalo, Alex David; Contreras Calle, Wilson TeodoroAgility Agility is an important physical ability in human development, with which quick and coordinated movements can be made. It is a motor skill that involves several activities such as changes in direction, accelerations, among others. The reality of schoolchildren according to their location can significantly influence this ability, in this case two urban and rural institutions are taken into account, which have a different reality in schoolchildren, where they practice different daily activities, therefore the emphasis of the study. The objective is to evaluate the level of agility in secondary school children from a rural educational institution Abraham Barzallo and an urban educational institution February 27 of the canton Girón. The research is observational, non-experimental, descriptive comparative, with a quantitative and cross- sectional approach, the study was developed with 140 students selected in a non-probabilistic and intentional way. The schoolchildren will participate voluntarily. To determine their level of agility, they will be evaluated with the Illinois test, which consists of a circuit of changes in direction and speed of movement. This will allow us to determine the level of agility in the two groups of schoolchildren. With the data on the level of agility, a comparative report was made of the results of the Illinois Agility Test, which allowed us to establish whether there are statistically significant differences between the elementary school students from the urban institution 27 de Febrero compared to the rural institution Abraham Barzallo.Item Análisis comparativo de los test físico-técnicos aplicados en la categoría sub 13 de las escuelas de fútbol del Club Deportivo Azoguez y Liga Deportiva Cantonal de Cañar(2010) Naula Sucuzhañay, Jorge Alfonso; Narváez Inga, Giovanny Miguel; Contreras Calle, Wilson TeodoroItem Análisis comparativo del desarrollo de las disciplinas deportivas en el Instituto de Educación Física de la Universidad de Cuenca(2014) Cedillo Ramón, Fredy Ernesto; Mora Quito, Juan Pablo; Contreras Calle, Wilson TeodoroThe present research project contains a Corporative Analysis and Development of the different kinds of sports and disciplines that are part of the physical education institute at Cuenca`s University, it has been developed in four chapters, each and one of them will demostrate the ways, the sources and the means of how Physical Education Institute began, as well as, the importance of physical education and the sports in the University, the activities incorporated within “The Good Living” program and the results that had been obtained in the surveys ,in which, students participated, the same that approved the different kinds of sports and disciplines such as: Chess, Athletics, Basketball, Soccer, Gymnastics, Judo, Swimming,Volleyball. For data analysis, Microsoft Excel 2016 and IBM SPSS Statistics 25 were used. During the lockdown, the transition to virtual education affected Physical Education, resulting in the exclusion of some students and allowing others to continue their studies from home. This situation highlights digital inequality as a significant challenge in educational equity and underscores the crucial role of teachers in mitigating these disparities. However, the implemented educational policies have not had clear positive impacts for teachers and students, demonstrating the need for more personalized strategies to ensure an effective educational process. Despite the findings, there are pending challenges for the effective integration of ICT in education, demanding continuous efforts from educators and educational institutions. The limitations of the study include the time needed for the in-person application of the surveys and obtaining permissions from educational authorities. Nevertheless, the study highlights the importance of evaluating the quality of Physical Education. For future research, it is suggested to expand and diversify the sample, including opinions from different educational stakeholders and segmenting by urban and rural areas. This would provide a more holistic and representative understanding of the challenges in the use of virtual platforms in education in the Azuay province.Item Análisis integral de la motivación en boxeadores(2019) Chavez Cevallos, Miguel Enrique rubenIntroduction: Motivation leads to the permanence of sportspeople in the management process where they are involved. After the first evaluation, an 8- week program of activities was applied, with a frequency of one hour a week on Thursdays, during physical education hours. The results indicate an average self-esteem of 29; and likewise an average of 131 in motivation, before and after having applied the program. Finally, after the comparison it is concluded that in this study self-esteem and motivation were not favored, but neither were they found to have been at low levels, the results were presented and discussions were held with the necessary arguments. Análisis presiones plantares durante su desarrollo, revisión actualizada(2016) Barreto Andrade, Jorge Antonio; Villarroya Aparicio, Adoración; Contreras Calle, Wilson Teodoro; Brito Vasquez, Vicente Enrique; Loaiza Dávila, Lenin EstebanRace walking is intended to move the body as fast as possible while maintaining similar to those of the normal gait characteristics due to the requirements and restrictions of the regulations. This, together with the search for speed, makes the gait pattern, seen externally, appears uncomfortable, forced and unnatural. Hence, it is known the bad support made by marchers and frequent injuries suffered in the feet, and according to several authors, the distribution of the forces of each segment of the foot and the floor influences disorders thereof. At work eight marchers participated (4 men and 4 women) with a mean age of 21.63 years (± 4.24), with the purpose of analyzing the plantar support during the race walking. To register pressures portable system for static and dynamic analysis of foot support, PDM 240. The pressures were recorded during normal march and race-walking in 20m sections and valuesof the 7 central cycles were averaged. During normal march, the pressure peaks are higher than in subjects not marchers, shifting pressure towards the outer zone, suggesting that this activity has also modified its normal way of walking. In race walking, there are significantly higher peak pressure during normal driving, especially in the hind foot and forefoot smaller, more displacement of these to external radios, 4th and 5th metatarsal.Publication Desarrollo de las HMB en niños de 1-5 años en educación inicial(2016) Barreto Andrade, Jorge Antonio; Contreras Calle, Wilson Teodoro; Icaza Samaniego, Valeria LeonorThe movement is inherent in human beings, and in the infant stage, expressed mainly in the game in all its manifestations, considering that man is moving even before birth, in the womb. Thus, several authors argue the importance of giving priority attention to movement in the early childhood education, in which the child will be experimenting and experiencing through your body what happens around them. So, the more rich and varied are the spaces and learning materials, the richer will be the experience of the child, contributing significantly to their motor development and laying the foundations for the motor, which, help to strengthen the other capabilities personality of the infant. The objective of this paper is to summarize the different theories about the importance of human movement in the child's development.Item Determinación del nivel de conocimiento del currículo de Educación Física 2016 y su aplicación en docentes del área(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-03-11) Montalván Astudillo, Joseline Samanta; Guamán Guayllasaca, Erick Fabián; Contreras Calle, Wilson TeodoroThe project sought to determine the level of knowledge of Physical Education teachers in the city of Cuenca about the 2016 curriculum and to develop a proposed guide for its implementation. This study is qualitative and quantitative in nature, allowing to establish the degree of application of the 2016 Physical Education curriculum by teachers in their planning. To develop this research, information obtained through the interview (carried out virtually) was used where possible barriers (problems) were defined regarding the application and implementation of the current Physical Education curriculum. Additionally, a "help guide for teachers" was developed where barriers and possible solutions are discussed for the application of a training program where both aspects were evidenced, the same as applied by an external professional in the area with a duration of 3 months. The research had two stages, the first was a case study, in which the level of knowledge of the teachers was determined with the interview and barriers were detected to execute the help guide with possible solutions that was applied to 12 teachers of different ages and gender of 4 educational institutions both public and private. In the second part, a pre-experimental study was carried out, where with the help guide developed, a training program was applied dealing with the barriers and possible solutions that were applied to 12 teachers from the La Asunción Private Educational Unit. This study served to gain knowledge about the level of preparation that teachers have for the implementation of the 2016 curriculum. For the development of a guide to help and for its subsequent implementation, barriers and possible solutions that are presented to the teacher were found Physical Education teacher when making use of the curriculum in their planning.Item Efecto de un programa de entrenamiento interválico intensivo corto en futbolistas juveniles(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-11-20) Granizo Riquetti, Hernán Alberto; Contreras Calle, Wilson TeodoroPhysical preparation in football is a fundamental pillar to optimize sports performance. The inherent logic of this discipline requires repeated sprint sequences with incomplete recoveries, generating fatigue in the players; for this reason it is essential to have an excellent ability to repeat short and maximum stimuli to achieve the desired results in official competitions. The purpose of this work is to analyze the effect of a short intensity interval training program on the performance of the repeat sprint ability (RSA) in 15 youth male soccer players (U-16). Two evaluations were carried out: an initial or pre-program and a final or post-intervention of the RSA, based on the test RCA Aziz et al. (2000), using the RACES TEST® device from Chronojump®. A training program with a duration of 12 weeks was developed, divided into three stages of four weeks each: Accumulation, transformation and realization. The results showed very significant changes statistically (p£0.05) in all test parameters with the T test of related samples, obtaining the following values: RSA Mean 6,28 s to 5,98 s; RSA Best 5,78 s to 5,69 s; RSA Worse 6,76 s to 6,31 s; RSA Ideal 46,29 s to 45,57 s; RSA Total 50,26 s to 47,83 s and the Fatigue Index 8,58 % to 5,11 %. These values corroborate that short intensive interval training improves the ability to repeat sprints, therefore performance. In addition, it is a simple and replicable program for all formative categories in soccerItem Efecto de un programa para el desarrollo de las habilidades motrices gruesas en preescolares que no reciben clases de Educación Física de la Escuela de Educación Básica Ángel Polivio Chávez de la ciudad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2025-10-29) Santana López, Eduardo Manuel; Fernandez Bautista, Angel Salvador; Contreras Calle, Wilson TeodoroThis study analyzes the effect of an intervention program aimed at developing gross motor skills in preschool children who do not receive Physical Education classes at a public school in Cuenca, Ecuador. The research follows a quantitative, pre-experimental, using the Test of Gross Motor Development (TGMD-2) before and after the intervention. The sample included 33 children aged 3 to 5 who participated in a structured play-based program over eight weeks (24 sessions). Results showed significant improvements in both locomotion and object control skills, with an overall gain equivalent to one year and three months of motor development. The findings suggest that, in the absence of formal Physical Education, structured motor programs can effectively promote children's overall development. This study highlights the importance of training professionals in Physical Activity and Sport Pedagogy to address diverse educational needs and reinforces the value of early Physical Education. Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2025-10-31) Santana López, Carlos Francisco; Quinde Molina, Estefania Elizabeth; Contreras Calle, Wilson TeodoroThis research analyzes the strategies used by students of the Physical Activity and Sports Pedagogy program (PAFD) at the University of Cuenca to pass their subjects. The study starts from the observation that many students prioritize approval over meaningful learning, which puts in tension the educational models promoted by the institution. The general objective was to understand what strategies are considered effective to achieve approval, especially in theoretical subjects, and what factors condition their use. Through a qualitative-phenomenological approach, 12 students and 8 teachers were interviewed. The analysis, carried out with open and axial coding, combined inductive and deductive approaches. The results of the analysis of student and teacher data show that any strategy that leads to passing, regardless of its formative or ethical value, is considered effective, having a strong inclination towards strategies focused on passing, such as extra work, copying, superficial memorization and the selection of subjects according to their contribution to professional competencies. Students condition their behavior according to the perceived stimuli of the educational environment: type of evaluation, teacher's attitude, perceived difficulty of the subject and external pressure. Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2025-10-31) Macas Saraguro, Víctor Steven; Lema Cedillo, Martin Rogerio; Contreras Calle, Wilson TeodoroThis study addressed the knowledge gap on the effects of implementing an acceleration and sprinting program for sprinters in the context of soccer. Therefore, its impact on sprints during training was evaluated. A quantitative quasi-experimental design (no control group) was used with 56 youngsters from the Gad Parroquial Javier Loyola Soccer School. The adapted program was applied for 6 weeks, measuring the variables (5-0-5 agility test and 10x5 speed test) in pretest and posttest. To control possible biases, sports motivation (by means of a psychological survey), average BMI and the percentage of lean mass of the lower body were recorded before the intervention. The analysis evidenced significant changes in acceleration, speed and agility in both genders: 5-0-5 test (female Δ=0.61 s., male Δ=0.42 s.), 10x5 test (female Δ=1.02 s., male Δ=0.69 s.). It is concluded that individualization of training based on gender, physical profile and motivation not only enhances immediate performance, but also establishes bases for sustainable sports development in soccer academies.
