This research aims to comparatively analyze the intercultural competences built and developed by the high school students of the Chiquintad High School, 2019-2020 school period. To do this, a qualitative investigative approach has been used to interpret analytical induction when contrasting propositions related to the concept of intercultural competence. Specialized bibliography was analyzed to obtain qualitative and quantitative information that allows focusing the evolution of Latin American intercultural education with emphasis on the Andean region and Ecuador. From a critical intercultural perspective, relevant information obtained from the SDG 1, 4 and 5 indicators was analyzed, interpreted and systematized; from the Intercultural Project within the epistemic, political, social and cultural paradigm of the Buen Vivir (OBV); from current state of the public educational service; and from the internal and external evaluation of learning within the legal framework of the LOEI to propose a conception of Intercultural Competences as a trivalent logic of knowledge-do-powers. Results of the Baccalaureate of the Chiquintad High School are based on knowledge-do-powers where the compared groups show a weakening in their intercultural competences of POWER necessary to overcome the coloniality of knowledge and power, as well as for the appropriation of know-how from your community. Definitely, public education policies are worn out by the politicization of education suffered in recent years and do not represent routes of action for the Intercultural Project and the Buen Vivir.

(2018-07-05) Hidalgo Villacís, Cesar Ernesto; Godoy Chacha, Juan Diego; Collado Ruano, Javier
The thermal behavior and the energy consumption of the housing envelope of the MIDUVI type house are analyzed, implanted in Ecuador, near of the cantonal head of Pucará, Province of Azuay. Where the use of an envelope that does not respond adequately to the climatic conditions of the site is presented, which gives rise to the lack of thermal comfort inside the dwelling, that can lead to health problems. The purpose of this study is to determine if implementing bioclimatic materials in the architectural envelope it is possible to improve the comfort conditions in social housing, for andean páramo climate. To achieve this objective, a research is proposed with an experimental-quantitative approach, in order to evaluate the architectural envelope (independent variable) and its influence on the thermal quality of the indoor environment (dependent variable) in the dwelling type, the following steps were followed: a) collection of climatic data, b) verification of the current status of MIDUVI housing and its relationship with users, c) determination of local materials and their thermal characteristics, through laboratory tests, d) simulations of the thermal and energetic behavior of the current and proposed envelope; and e) comparative analysis between envelopes. Data from meteorological stations were taken to obtain real climate data. The data collected was used to create and develop the simulations in Energy Plus v8.7. and verify the thermal performance of the envelope. It was concluded by means of the thermal-energetic simulation that by means of the implementation of bioclimatic materials in the enclosure, the interior temperature increases up to 5 ° C, reaching 15 to 18 ° C, very close to the comfort range; besides an increase of 51% in the relation with the exterior temperature. On the other hand, if artificial air conditioning is used, the proposed envelope presents a better energy performance than the current one and can save up to 74% of the monthly energy consumption in heating.

The objective of this research was to value the work of youth collectives that develop artistic mediation practices in public spaces. An exploratory qualitative-descriptive methodology was used, using methods of bibliographic analysis and direct participatory observation, with semi-structured interviews with cultural managers and representatives of the collectives and communities of the Cuenca canton. Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) was applied to circumstantial material obtained through interviews with key actors. It was possible to establish that the way of operating of all the youth collectives studied contributes to the educational field through their artistic proposals; however, the work of two of the four groups analyzed falls more clearly within the parameters of social education, by deploying a permanent dynamic of offering workshops and educational activities to rural communities, a fact that has generated the empowerment and self-management of young people, and the involvement of communities in a process of identity self-affirmation. The work of youth collectives contributes to social education and enriches the educational field through their socio-educational interventions. Lacking the limitations imposed by formal education, their didactics are pluralistic, flexible, playful and responsive to the needs of the inhabitants of urban and rural communities. The support to youth collectives in the canton of Cuenca by the Academy, local governments and citizens could mean an important step forward to expand and diversify the educational offer to its population.

This work is contextualized in the transition between virtual and face-to-face education that took place in Ecuador as a consequence of the COVID-19 health crisis, and responds to the challenges and pedagogical transformations that have arisen in the subject of Cultural and Artistic Education (ECA), that occurred in this historical moment. The research has the objective of analyzing how the change of modality raised a revision of the educational paradigm whose implication affects the ways of conceiving knowledge that in this case is centered from the arts: how is a class that responds to these changes configured? For this, a quantitative methodology was used, three categories of theoretical analysis were developed with the review of multiple publications, at first the thought of Morin (1999, 2002, 2009, 2020) is reviewed, the transdisciplinary methodology of Nicolescu (1996) and learning based on artistic creation projects by Caeiro (2018). A systematization of projects designed in ten cycles of Basic GeneralEducation (EGB) that respond to these categories is presented and the degree of effectiveness of this proposal compared to the traditional class is contrasted, through a survey with a Likert scale; The results are analyzed based on variables such as education based on artistic disciplines, the approach to complex thinking and the relevance of ECA in general education. As a result, a content plan is offered for the classes from First to Tenth EGB that shows in a practical way how the contents could be designed under the paradigm of complexity and aligned to ways of producing knowledge from artistic education. In conclusion, it was confirmed that ECA is an indicator of quality in education that allows critical reflection on the challenges that education currently faces.

The research proposes an innovative pedagogical proposal that capitalizes on the characteristics of stand-up for the development of critical thinking in the classroom, through Cultural Artistic Education. This pedagogical approach was meticulously designed, covering all stages of the educational process: anticipation, construction and consolidation. Described in detail, this design seeks to be easily replicated by other teachers. The research was carried out at the "Ciudad de Cuenca" School of Basic Education, with the participation of 90 students between 11 and 12 years old. After the application of the proposal, a pair of evaluation rubrics were used: one to evaluate the execution of the stand-up and another for the students to analyze their own experience, putting into play key elements of critical thinking such as argumentation and decision-making. decisions. The results obtained reveal significant progress in understanding and addressing the problem of developing critical thinking in the educational context. Although progress was seen in areas such as verbal expression and time management during stand-up performances, challenges remain in fundamental aspects such as critical thinking, confidence, and the ability to reflect on the impact of personal experiences. In conclusion, this research highlights the importance of adopting innovative pedagogical approaches that harness the potential of stand-up to foster key cognitive skills in students. While notable progress has been made, it is clear that work to strengthen critical thinking in education must continue, with a renewed emphasis on confidence and critical reflection

This work proposes an innovative didactic plan for teaching within Cultural and Artistic Education at the Second Year of High School level, focusing on the use of theatrical improvisation as a pedagogical tool to stimulate social creativity in adolescents. Based on William Layton’s acting method and the SED Structure (Dramatic Expression Session), the approach transforms curricular content into meaningful learning experiences that promote communicative, empathetic, and collaborative skills. The proposed didactic plan aligns with the current Ecuadorian curriculum and is validated through an applied class centered on interculturality using Day of the Dead traditions from various countries. The experience showed improvements in student participation, critical thinking, and creative expression, as well as concrete benefits for professional teacher development, as the educator assumes an active and reflective role in learning mediation. This pedagogical model proves effective for the holistic development of young people and for educational innovation through the arts.
