Item Prevalencia de los retrasos del desarrollo con o sin discapcidad y los factores asociados en niños y niñas de 0 a 5 años de edad que asisten a 3 centros fiscales regulares del área central del cantón Cuenca, enero-junio 2009(2010-11-11) Albarracín Matute, Lorena Alexandra; Gordillo Arévalo, Elizabeth Viviana; Auquilla Díaz, Nancy Eulalia; Huiracocha Tutivén, María de LourdesThe objective of this research is to determined the prevalence of developmental delay with or without disabilities, and to describe associated factors in children of 0-5 years. Was realized a Quantitative cross-sectional Study. A sample of 57 children (universe of 143) attending three Regular Public Centers of the Central Area of the canton Cuenca (Hernán Malo, San Francisco and ANIMA), For the identification of developmental delay test was used Brunet Lezine and disability EVE guides for children 3 years and BVD for ages 3-5 years. This study found that 12,3% of children had delayed psychomotor development, 10,5% without disability and 1,8% with disabilities. In the late children there is no benefit of early intervention, didn’t meet relation to the following factors: malnutrition, abnormal head circumference (microcephaly), family type (single parent). With the data obtained may require the need to implement programs with coverage, access and quality.
