Funcionalidad familiar según el modelo circumplejo de Oslon en la adolescencia inicial

Abstract

The presence of conflictive situations inside the family has been a subject of multiples studies, because is the main cause for the positive or negative development of each one of the family members, specially of the initial adolescences, a poor development could affect their different aspects of life: personal, social or academic, that’s the reason why a positive familiar functioning is so important in the wellness of the family members, being this one the main goals to accomplish in every society. The porpoise of the current investigation was to determinate the level of Family Functioning based in the Circumplex Model by Olson in initial adolescents. The study has a quantitative approach with a descriptive influence. The sample consists in 120 students, 49 men and 71 women who belong to a public school of Cuenca city. The instrument used was the family adaptability and cohesion evaluation scale (FACES III) by Olson, Portner and Lavee (1985), the Spanish version validate in Argentina by Schmidt (2000). The results have demonstrated that the most students belong to a balanced family type; therefore, their level of Family Functioning is Moderate, this means an adequate Family Functioning.
