Abstract
This research aims to investigate the influence of the work of the “Figlie di Maria
Ausiliatrice” in the Sígsig canton, from the 50s to the 80s. This incidence implies the
impact that this congregation has had at the level of education and society, mainly with
the “Sigseñas” women, objective to analyze this impact and the historical repercussion
of the Salesian presence in Sigsig, also identifying the fundamentals and principles of
Salesian pedagogy such as Don Bosco's preventive system based on reason, love
and religion, together with the pedagogy of charity and the stimulus of Maria
Mazzarello, founders of the congregation whose teaching method is present in Sigsig.
In the same way, carry out a construction of the collective history of the canton, based
on the testimonies of Sigsig women, who have experienced first-hand the incidences
of this Salesian presence in Sigsig, seen from the educational point of view with the
work of the current school. María Mazzarello”, and from a social perspective where
the great devotion present in the Sígsig to the “Maria Auxiliadora” is exposed, a
practice instilled by the Salesian congregation.
Resumen
Esta investigación pretende indagar sobre la influencia del trabajo de las Hijas de
María Auxiliadora en el cantón Sígsig, a partir de los años 50 hasta los años 80, esta
incidencia implica el impacto que ha tenido esta congregación a nivel de educación y
sociedad, principalmente con las mujeres sigseñas, teniendo como objetivo analizar
este impacto y la repercusión histórica de la presencia salesiana en Sígsig, además
identificar los fundamentos y principios de la pedagogía salesiana como el sistema
preventivo de Don Bosco basados en la razón, el amor y la religión, junto con la
pedagogía de la caridad y el estímulo de María Mazzarello, fundadores de la
congregación cuyo método de enseñanza está presente en Sígsig.
De la misma manera realizar una construcción de la historia colectiva del cantón, a
partir de testimonios de mujeres sigseñas, que han experimentado en primera
persona las incidencias de esta presencia salesiana dentro del Sígsig, visto desde el
punto de educativo con la obra del actual colegio “María Mazzarello”, y desde una
mirada social donde se expone la gran devoción presente en el Sígsig a la virgen
María Auxiliadora, práctica inculcada por la congregación salesiana.
