Abstract
The analysis of Arne Jacobsen’s works reveals a recurring structural pattern based on central supports and cantilevers. Three key stages can be identified in his architecture: the use of the cantilever system, the liberation of façades through continuous carpentry, and a mature phase characterized by complex architectural proposals. This research focuses on establishing a connection between two of his most representative domestic works: the Kokfelt House (1955–1957) and the Siesby House (1957), despite the limited documentation available on his residential projects compared to his public buildings. The aim is to highlight the principles of modern architecture applied by Jacobsen in the domestic sphere, through the use of graphic and documentary resources that contribute to understanding and appreciating his contribution to the history of modern architecture.
Resumen
El análisis de las obras de Arne Jacobsen revela un patrón estructural recurrente basado en apoyos centrales y voladizos. Se identifican tres etapas clave en su arquitectura: el uso del sistema cantiléver, la liberación de las fachadas mediante carpintería continua, y una fase madura con propuestas arquitectónicas complejas. La investigación se enfoca en establecer un vínculo entre dos de sus obras domésticas más representativas: la Casa Kokfelt (1955–1957) y la Casa Siesby (1957), a pesar de la escasa documentación existente sobre sus proyectos residenciales en comparación con sus obras públicas. El objetivo es evidenciar los principios de la arquitectura moderna aplicados por Jacobsen en su ámbito doméstico, mediante el uso de recursos gráficos y documentales que permitan comprender y valorar su aporte a la historia de la arquitectura moderna.
