Abstract
The present investigation entitled Traditional Historical Novel, Moral Conservatism and Female Character in La Innombrable (2019), by Raquel Rodas, proposes to analyze the historical context of Cuenca, towards the end of the 19th century, as well as the conservative thought, which conditioned Mercedes' life Andrade, the main character of the novel, who lived in a patriarchal and moralistic society. The general objective is to define and theoretically characterize the traditional historical novel, moral conservatism and the female historical character to analyze, within the methodical framework of hermeneutics, the novel La Innombrable (2019), by Raquel Rodas. The authors and definitions that will serve as a theoretical perspective are The Traditional Historical Novel and the new historical novel: a subgenre and two visions of Literature and History (2013), by Jorge Luis Herrera; Retrospective on the Evolution of the historical novel (1995), by Carlos Mata Induráin, who
conceptualizes the traditional historical novel; also, Conservatism (1985) by Klaus Von Beyme, Conservative and right-wing thought in Latin America, Spain and Portugal 19th and 20th centuries (2018), by Marta García, which will make it possible to conceptualize the moral thought of conservatism. To achieve the objectives of the research we will use the hermeneutic method developed in the book Time and Narration I. Configuration of Time in the Historical Story (1995), by Paúl Ricoeur.
Resumen
La presente investigación titulada Novela histórica tradicional, conservadurismo moral y personaje femenino en La Innombrable (2019), de Raquel Rodas, plantea analizar el contexto histórico de Cuenca, hacia finales del siglo XIX, así como el pensamiento conservador, que condicionaron la vida de Mercedes Andrade, personaje protagonista de la novela, quien vivió en una sociedad patriarcal y moralista. El objetivo general es definir y caracterizar teóricamente la novela histórica tradicional, el conservadurismo moral y el personaje histórico
femenino para analizar, en el marco metódico de la hermenéutica. Los autores y fuentes que nos servirán como perspectiva teórica son: La novela histórica tradicional y la nueva novela histórica: un subgénero y dos visiones de la literatura y de la historia (2013), de Jorge Luis Herrera; Retrospectiva sobre la evolución de la novela histórica (1995), de Carlos Mata Induráin, quienes conceptualizan a la novela histórica tradicional; también, El Conservadurismo (1985) de Klaus Von Beyme, los cuales posibilitarán conceptualizar el
pensamiento moral del conservadurismo. Para alcanzar los objetivos de la investigación emplearemos el método hermenéutico desarrollado en el libro Tiempo y narración I. Configuración del tiempo en el relato histórico (1995), de Paúl Ricoeur.
