Item Prevalencia y factores de riesgo de incontinencia urinaria en mujeres posparto en instituciones de salud de la ciudad de Cuenca, septiembre 2024 - febrero 2025(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-03-07) Sangacha Chamba, Valeria Priscila; Pacheco Maurad, Cinthya Vanessa; Zeas Puga, Ana LucíaThe average incidence of urinary incontinence in the postpartum period varies from 10.5% to 63%, and it is a condition that affects women's quality of life. It is connected to multiple risk factors, and diagnosis can be difficult due to insufficient data. The main aim of this research was to determine the prevalence and risk factors of urinary incontinence in the postpartum period (up to 12 months) at the Humanitarian Hospital Foundation Pablo Jaramillo C. and the Municipal Foundation for Women and Children in Cuenca, Ecuador. Between September 2024 and February 2025, 133 women participated in a cross-sectional and descriptive study. The International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire-Short Form was one of the instruments employed to collect data from the participants. According to the findings, urine incontinence was highly prevalent (66.9%), with stress incontinence accounting for the majority of cases (28.6%). The first four months had a greater frequency of urine incontinence (50.38%) when comparing the months postpartum and urinary incontinence (p=0.042). Moreover, a positive association was found between the months postpartum (p<0.001) To sum up, the high incidence of UI in the postpartum phase, particularly during the first four months, emphasizes how critical it is to establish prevention measures and interventions into effect in order to improve the health and standard of living of impacted women.Item Determinación de prevalencia de trastornos musculoesqueléticos mediante el cuestionario Nórdico en docentes de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas periodo septiembre 2024 - febrero 2025(Universidad de Cuenca, 2025-03-06) Rubio Ríos, Jean Carlos; Guerra Ordóñez, Salvador Alexander; Ayavaca Tapia, Luz MaríaMusculoskeletal conditions constitute a serious risk to public health, especially for professions such as teaching that require prolonged posture.
