Item El acceso a los espacios públicos para las prácticas musicales en la ciudad de Cuenca(2017-05-11) Roldán Aráuz, Paola Gabriela; Arjona Cardona, Joan AntoniUrban public spaces are the scenario in which urban diversity converges. Among the cultural aspects, music plays an important role for this convergence of the citizens. However, musicians reckon that these spaces are not easily accessible because the Municipality of Cuenca has set an excessive amount of procedures for the acquisition of permits, since the GAD (local government) must look after the conservation of these public actives, citizen’s security and wellbeing. To research this conflict, local musicians are interviewed with the purpose of studying the needs they have over these spaces, the activities that take place within and the perceptions that musicians have about legislation and the entity responsible for their administration. In contrast, institutional requirements and regulations are also analysed to understand if musicians’ lack of interest for citizen participation can be justified. We conclude that, when it comes to public spaces, the local administration has substantive failures on the managing and distribution of public information, it also doesn’t fulfil a favourable role in citizen participation in Cuenca. On the other hand, flaws have been found in musicians as well, in whom the desire to receive economic and cultural benefits without the minimum intervention of their individual civil actions come to light. Finally, the level of involvement and individual necessity could be a determinant in their intentionality to access information from another source by themselves, which doesn’t happen in the local context.Item Alcances y límites del plan estratégico de Paccha(2006) Guamán Ayora, Dino Rómulo; Balarezo Pinos, HumbertoItem La alfabetización como proceso de inclusión social: parroquia San José de Raranga del cantón Sígsig. (Aplicado en personas entre 15-65 años de edad)(2008) Avecillas Andrade, Tania Silvana; Sacaquirín Rojas, Diego Rafael; Salazar Vintimilla, Ana CeciliaItem Análisis de caso sobre migración de retorno con familias de la parroquia rural Guapán: cuando los padres retornan a casa, ¿cómo se reconfigura la realidad social de la familia?(2019-06-17) Guerra Auqui, Isabel Katerine; Minchala Ruilova, Mayra Isabel; González Espinoza, ClementinaTo analyze the reconfiguration of the social reality of family institution in the context of return migration, imposes a challenge to research proposals that pretend to make a comprehensive study of the subject; especially when the existing scientific literature is mostly developed in the field of economic studies. The contribution of this research is to display the items that reconfigure the social reality of the nuclear family, when parents return to their interaction context. This, in relation to the significance of family, the roles interaction, the influence of the extended family and community in the rural area. For this purpose, the theoretical framework is based on theories of microsociology and return migration. The methodology is developed within the approach of several qualitative case analysis, using the retrospective analysis of trajectories method. The results reveal reconfigurations on differentiated circumstances, in the families participating in the study; thus, the significance is reconfigured on affective relationships; the roles of interaction in relations of power, gender relations and economic relations; while the extended family and the community have acted as a mechanism of support and social coercion.Item Análisis de casos acerca del proceso participativo y la toma de decisiones en tres organizaciones de base de la asociación UPCCC – Cañar(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-07-23) Tenemaza Llivicota, María Laura; Zhimnay Valverde, Cristian FabiánThis research analyzed the participatory process and decision-making in three grassroots organizations of the UPCCC– Cañar association, using a qualitative approach because reality is socially constructed, thereby revealing the organizational process and being the most suitable for data collection and analysis. The research is descriptive in scope, hence there will be no deliberate manipulation of variables. The primary data collection method will be qualitative interviews, which will initially be conducted in an unstructured manner. Additionally, document review will be employed as a technique to examine existing documents that provide relevant information about the processes of social organizations, their main milestones, and the participatory impact of their members. The results allowed for the analysis of factors that motivate or hinder participation in the organizations. Subsequently, a description of the conditions under which participatory processes occur was provided, helping to identify elements that encourage and obstruct participation. Furthermore, a comparison of information regarding the motivations and conditions that hinder participation in the organizational processes of the three organizations was conducted. Finally, it was identified that there are factors that weaken the organizational process, which are not unrelated to the current reality, such as migration, a determining factor, the participation of organizations in the electoral arena, and the absence of leadership.Item Análisis de género de la inserción laboral femenina de migrantes venezolanas en las parroquias de Totoracocha y Sinincay del cantón Cuenca durante el año 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-05-23) Naula Córdova, Deisy Leonor; Soliz Huarz, Dayanna Michelle; Zhimnay Valverde, Cristian FabiánOne of the main elements associated with this migration is of an economic nature; in this sense, in the countries of destination, immigrants seek to cover basic needs and improve their quality of life and that of their families. In this line, this research aims to analyze the labor market insertion of Venezuelan immigrant women in two stages, one when they are looking for work and the other when they are already working. This study is approached from a gender perspective and its objective is to analyze the labor market insertion of Venezuelan immigrants in the city of Cuenca, for which the factors of insertion, labor conditions and the relationship between human mobility and labor market insertion guide the study. The methodological approach applied is qualitative and its designs are: case study and participatory research. Data were obtained from non-participant observation; semi-structured interviews and secondary documents. The findings indicate that the labor insertion of the participants who live or work in the parishes of Totoracocha and Sinincay is conditioned by personal, sociofamily, cultural and external factors. They also work in conditions of labor exploitation, which is reflected in their income, workday, legal benefits, etc. Finally, it is evident that, despite having a regularized migratory status in Ecuador, their labor opportunities and conditions only partially improve and worsen when their migratory status is irregular.Item Análisis de la agroecología, formas de organización, situación, económica, y educativa de agricultores de la parroquia de Sayausí(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-03-25) Bermeo Pintado, Lorena Mireya; Torres Solórzano, Dayse Salomé; Álava Atiencie, Nubia GabrielaThe present study analyzed the current situation of farmers in the rural parish of Sayausí - Cuenca, prioritizing describing their economic, educational, organizational conditions and the level of application of agroecological principles in their productive activities. The methodology applied in this research was case analysis, using quantitative and qualitative techniques for a better understanding of the phenomenon studied. 211 structured surveys were carried out with farmers in the area and 8 in-depth semi-structured interviews. One aspect to highlight is that the sample was segmented between farmers organized in different agroecological associations and those who work independently, that is, not organized, in order to establish comparisons between both groups. Among the main findings, it is worth highlighting firstly that 6 out of every 10 farmers in Sayausí are women, 62.1%, a phenomenon that is directly linked to the so-called “feminization of agriculture” observed in rural areas. Likewise, it was found that 3 out of every 4 agricultural producers in the 76.3% area are integrated into agroecological organizations, evidencing the close relationship between organized participation and better levels of income and education among those who are part of these organizations. However, through this study, women's limited access to leadership and decision-making spaces within these organizations came to light. An encouraging fact is that the participating women showed on average a greater degree of application and commitment to the various principles of agroecology.Item Análisis de la aplicación de los principios agroecológicos en los procesos organizativos y productivos de la asociación “24 de septiembre” de la comunidad de Maras del cantón Paute(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-01-17) León Rojas, Ruth Elizabeth; Álava Atiencie, Nubia GabrielaAgroecology, as an agricultural practice, is based on the harmony between agroecosystems, people and nature. It represents an alternative to the modern agricultural production model, which places food security and sovereignty at serious risk. In this context, the study aims to analyze the application of productive agroecological principles and the organizational components of the Association of organic vegetable producers "24 de septiembre" located in the community of Maras, in the canton of Paute. For this purpose, it applies a comprehensive methodology (quantitative, qualitative and participatory). The results of the study population show that the partners always apply some practices framed in all the agroecological principles and others never. Of the principles identified, their degree of applicability varies, thus a "very good" application of the principle of utilization of local resources is observed, on the contrary, the principle with a "regular" degree of application is the care of water. In terms of its organizational status, the production of organic fertilizer is an important milestone for the association. Its strengths lie in its inter-institutional relations. Among its weaknesses is the lack of a management and business model to ensure its sustainability. Overcoming weaknesses and enhancing strengths involves the implementation of financial, commercial, technological, communication and organizational strategies. In conclusion, the association should strengthen the application of agroecological principles and its organizational components with the support of governmental institutions, in order to enhance local production and guarantee the necessary food for rural and urban communities.Item Análisis de la eficiencia institucional en el tratamiento y disposición final de residuos plásticos en el año 2021: Caso de estudio EMAC EP(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-05-31) Cedeño Astudillo, Viviana Pamela; Quizhpi Lupercio, Tania Jacqueline; Capelo Ayala, Delfa HumbertinaThe inadequate management of plastic waste, both in public and private institutions, is a significant cause of environmental problems, given the constant growth in its production. In the city of Cuenca, the company EMAC EP assumes the responsibility of adequately managing the treatment of this waste. The objective of this work is to analyze the company's efficiency in the management and final disposal of plastic waste during the year 2021. The methodological design adopted consists of a simple case study of descriptive scope, in which qualitative tools were used to collect information. Interviews were conducted with six representatives from different areas within the company's organizational chart, as well as with four presidents of grassroots recyclers' associations. In addition, a registration form was implemented as an instrument to record and systematize the information obtained from the recycling plant. Among the main results, factors that intervene in the recycling process such as organizational, financial, regulatory and social actors have been found. The EMAC EP Company is efficient as a company in the regulatory field, since, in this factor, norms, rules and ordinances have been established that have helped the waste management process. However, its efficiency in the plastic waste recycling process is very low since it does not intervene directly in this process to be efficient as a company.Item Análisis de la experiencia organizativa de mujeres ¨Sinchi Warmi¨ en el contexto del conflicto ecoterritorial minero, periodo 2018-2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-11-20) Castro Vásquez, Ana Gabriela; Cevallos Segarra, William Steven; Paño Yáñez, Pablo JoséThis research work analyzes the organizational experience in the community organization of Sinchi Warmi women in resistance, in the context of the mining ecoterritorial conflict in the period 2018-2023. For this, an integrative and participatory methodological strategy such as ECAP is used from three dimensions: qualitative, quantitative and participatory. It is a simple Case Study with exploratory – descriptive scope; there were 15 surveys, 8 interviews with women of the organization and 4 with people involved in the extractive problem, 7 participant and non-participant observations, in addition to 3 participatory workshops and two transects allowing to approach more closely the territorial field. The results presented show that the Sinchi Warmi organization is characterized by being a plural and diverse collective that from its social incidence resists in favor of the rights of women, collectives and nature in the mining ecoterritorial context in the community of San Antonio de Río Blanco. However, each of the rural and urban women live different realities around mining extractivism, since it is important to measure from the female agency and territorial community feminism the organizational experiences of the organization, dimensioning the impacts from the systems of domination in the body, land and territory of women in resistance. Some relevant quantitative findings are established for future research that can be analyzed from the gender perspective taking into account the differentiated impacts that mining activity produces. Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Administrativas, 2025-10-17) Cárdenas Segarra, Nancy Leonor; Zhimnay Valverde, Cristian FabiánThis research focuses on the reality of informal workers who work near the 9 de Octubre market in the city of Cuenca, a vulnerable and marginalized social group due to economic precariousness and lack of access to basic services. The study aims to analyze the strategies that these women need to deal with social exclusion, taking into account that work is informal, as a means of subsistence, without guarantees of stability and social protection. The research considered that social marginalization is persistent due to structural and socioeconomic factors that influence disproportionate behavior towards women in the informal sector. Given that it is necessary to carry out an analysis because women are the ones who run the greatest risk due to excessive responsibilities and discrimination at work. Statistical and theoretical data show that the increase in the number of informal workers and the high representation of women in this sector prove that the situation of exclusion and precariousness is worsening. Finally, a case study is carried out, working only from life stories and non-participant observation, thus describing their situation in the informal sector, identifying the factors that determine their exclusion and determining the main consequences of this problem.Item Análisis de la migración y del rol que desempeñan las mujeres en el desarrollo económico y social de las comunidades de la parroquia de Sidcay(2001) Guzmán Ruiz, Lourdes Janneth; Peralta Ortega, Susana Janneth; Santos Jara, EnriqueItem Análisis de la movilidad infantil para la obtención de recursos tecnológicos educativos en el infocentro comunitario de Canchagua durante la pandemia COVID-19, periodo marzo-agosto 2021(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-09-12) Albarrasín Caldas, Jennifer Fernanda; Espinoza Mora, José David; Encalada Calle, Daniel AlbertoThis study focuses on the development of the educational process in the context of the health emergency in the parish of Canchagua-Cotopaxi. The research was developed with the objective of analyzing children's mobility to obtain educational technological resources in the community Infocentro. A qualitative approach was used with a case study methodological design: simple-holistic, descriptive type. Using the techniques of analysis of secondary documents, semi-structured interviews, surveys and focus groups. Among the results it was found that the economic factor is a determining factor in the situation of mobility and access to technological means, in an area that is geographically dispersed, where the lack of technological equipment necessary for the community Infocentro, educational policies and state provisions are not adapted to the particularities of the sectors lacking services and connectivity. We can conclude that the adoption of technologies for education in rural areas implies many challenges to obtain an efficient quality education, starting with the active involvement of the actors for the joint construction of alternatives to reduce the digital gap through the satisfaction of the different needs arising from education.Item Análisis de la participación ciudadana dentro del proceso de rendición de cuentas de los GADs Parroquiales del cantón Cuenca en el año 2018(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-02-25) Palacios Rodas, José Francisco; Encalada Calle, Daniel AlbertoParticipatory democracy is that which aims to involve multiple social sectors in decision making and management of public resources. Therefore, citizen participation and accountability are elements that have been incorporated at the normative level into representative democratic systems, with the ideal of avoiding the concentration of power by those in power. The contribution of this research is to analyze citizen participation linked to the accountability process of the Parish GADs in the canton of Cuenca, for which a qualitative approach was used, through the analysis of multiple cases of rural parishes: Baños and Paccha. The techniques used were: semi-structured interview, documentary analysis and survey. The results reveal that: the accountability process has an informative character and consists of five phases, from which citizens can be involved exclusively in the Citizen Consultation and Public Deliberation; the actors involved in citizen participation are characterized as: active citizens, while the citizens characterized as passive are those who are far from the participation arena; finally, it can be said that the perceptions about citizen participation-accountability vary according to the actorsItem Análisis de la participación ciudadana y desarrollo local, caso: Municipio de Girón(1999) Bonilla Macas, Jorge Gilberto; Buñay Sanmartín, Sandra; Balarezo Pinos, HumbertoItem Análisis de la participación de la red de mujeres de Paute en el desarrollo local del cantón(2010) Barrera Guachún, Cecilia Verónica; Salazar Vintimilla, Ana CeciliaItem Análisis de la participación de las mujeres en el arbitraje de fútbol profesional del Ecuador en la provincia del Azuay en el año 2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-07-12) Gutierrez Solis, Jonnathan Francisco; Guillén Salgado, Margarita LucíaThe main objective of this research is to characterize the participation of women in professional soccer refereeing in Ecuador, in the province of Azuay, in the year 2023, for which categories such as gender, stereotypes and discrimination were addressed. Methodologically, a case study was carried out. The scope was descriptive and the approach was mixed, that is, quantitative and qualitative methodology was combined. A survey was applied with the purpose of identifying the sociodemographic aspects of the women who belong to the Association of Soccer Referees of Azuay (A.A.F.A). Also, interviews with the purpose of determining the conditions that hinder the access, permanence and progress of women in the professional field of arbitration. To process the information, we proceeded to work with the computer software SPSS and Atlas Ti. The main results indicated that the participation of women in arbitration is low. In the province of Azuay there are 7 women of the 42 referees belonging to the (AAFA) and they represent 17%. It was observed that all women have witnessed or experienced gender violence, contrasting with male referees, where 50% have been affected by some type of violence. These findings highlight worrying patterns of gender discrimination in the field of arbitration. It is concluded, in this way, that arbitration still carries strong traits of machismo anchored to gender stereotypes where categories such as discrimination and exclusion are predominant in women.
