Methodology: An analytical cross-sectional study, which included 232 women older than 24 years of age who were seen at the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital from July to December 2016 and who met the inclusion criteria, were evaluated in blood: glucose, insulin, HDL, LDL, triglycerides , As well as blood pressure, abdominal waist and body mass index Results: The prevalence of Acne was 39.2%, the mean age was 31.6 years; it was more frequent in women with third level of education (45.7%) the Insulin Resistance RP of 2,275 (CI 1.7 -3) and abdominal waist RP 0.7 (CI 0.5-0.9) were the risk factors that presented relationship. Conclusions: Insulin resistance was considered as a risk factor for acne while the abdominal waist was considered as a protective factor
