    Funcionalidad familiar de adolescentes que presentan conducta adictiva

    Family is considered as the support network and as a care unit within society, is the basic unit for the development and experience of failures that teenagers could have, both in illness and health; therefore, evaluate the family functioning has become a fundamental factor to understand how this process are present in the human being. These, among other reasons, constitute the main motivation for this research that aimed to describe the familiar functionality of teenage boys with addictive behavior of the therapeutic community Hogar Crecer of Checa town in the Cuenca city. The study had a quantitative approach, a non-experimental design with a cross-sectional descriptive scope. Two instruments were used: the perception family APGAR test and the evaluation scale FACES III of Olson, which were applied to 31 adolescents that were threated in the above mentioned therapeutic community. The results have shown that nearly one-third of the families are classified as chaotic, which indicates a level of family functioning according to the variable high adaptability. In addition, more than half are unrelated families, which corresponds to a low level of family functioning in relation to the variable cohesion. It was determined, in general aspects, that almost the half of the overall amount of participants belong to a balanced family and a similar amount of participants perceived a moderated family functioning.
