The current research carried out in the period of October 2018 and March 2019 in the House of the Elderly of the Municipal GAD of Cuenca-Ecuador, has as a fundamental axis, analyzing the experiences of older adults from a family environment, experiences related to Masculinities and familiar Institution from a gender perspective, with the objective of studying the behaviors based on the gender constructs, gender roles, gender stereotypes and hegemonic masculinity to determine the impacts that these have had within the family, in order to visualize the problem as the beginning of a learning procces that will leads us to try to deconstruct this characteristics to achieve a fairer and more equitable society.
