Abstract
The current research carried out in the period of October 2018 and March 2019 in the House of the Elderly of the Municipal GAD of Cuenca-Ecuador, has as a fundamental axis, analyzing the experiences of older adults from a family environment, experiences related to Masculinities and familiar Institution from a gender perspective, with the objective of studying the behaviors based on the gender constructs, gender roles, gender stereotypes and hegemonic masculinity to determine the impacts that these have had within the family, in order to visualize the problem as the beginning of a learning procces that will leads us to try to deconstruct this characteristics to achieve a fairer and more equitable society.
Resumen
La presente investigación realizada en el período octubre de 2018 y marzo del 2019 en la Casa del Adulto Mayor del GAD Municipal de Cuenca-Ecuador, tiene como eje fundamental, analizar las vivencias de adultas/os mayores desde el ámbito familiar relacionadas con masculinidades e institución familiar desde una perspectiva de género, con el objetivo de estudiar los comportamientos basados en la construcción de género, roles de género, estereotipos de género y masculinidad hegemónica, determinar los impactos que éstos han tenido dentro del ámbito familiar, para de esa manera visibilizar la problemática como inicio de un proceso de aprendizaje que nos lleve a intentar deconstruir estas características para lograr una sociedad más justa y equitativa.
