Results: 93.7% of the sample studied was female, with the age group 14-16 years old and the urban origin being the most frequent. The prevalence of low self-esteem and negative self-concept was 9.4 and 23.6%, respectively. While the frequency of acne was 46.5%, being the mild severity more frequent. The most frequent physical consequence of acne was skin damage with 19.69%. Adolescents with acne had greater psychosocial consequences of negative self-concept with 39% and low self-esteem with 15.3%.
