Item Características sociodemográficas y tipos de aborto de las adolescentes que acudieron al Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso durante el periodo 2003-2013(2015) Barbecho Quito, Carmen del Rocío; Galabay Morquecho, Digna Cumandá; De la Cruz Cruz, Guadalupe; Rodríguez Sánchez, Dolores AmparitoBackground: teenage pregnancy is a public health problem, there are no physical, biological, or physiological preparation to take a physiologically appropriate pregnancy; being one of the main problems of the teenage mother, abortion puts in risk both mother and child. General purpose: Determine sociodemographic characteristics and different types of abortion of teenagers that went to Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital during the 2003 – 2013 periods. Methodology: A descriptive and quantitative study has been made in in all adolescents hat had gone to present their abortion, for what the Stadistic Department registration books had been reviewed, the information were analyzed in the “SPSS” 15 program, where simple tabloids and variable relations have been made, with their respective frequencies and percentages; in the quantitative variables, data as standard deviation were obtained. Results: The universe was was of the 901 cases of adolescents that suffered abortion. In our study, adolescents between the ages of 17-19 correspond to the highest percentage of abortions (78.8%), most from the city of Cuenca (73.5%). As for the Civil State a 38.4% were single, With respect to primary education level corresponds to the highest percentage (63,4%), and the type of abortion most frequent was the incomplete abortion (38.3%). Conclusion: during this period there has not existed a considerable decrease of cases of abortion in adolescents even though sexual education and reproductive has incrementedItem Caracterización del aborto recurrente en mujeres de edad fertil, hospital “Vicente Corral Moscoso”, 2015-2019(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-10-14) Bravo Durán, Johanna del Carmen; Cajamarca Calle, Jenny Maribel; Sánchez Campoverde, Diana EstherBackground: The World Health Organization (WHO) indicates that the fertile age in women is from 15 to 44 years, in this group of the population recurrent abortion has a low prevalence, for this reason the bibliographic production is limited, the present investigation tries to characterize the recurrent abortion and determine the reality in this area where the woman in fertile age is presenting (1). Objective: To characterize recurrent abortion in women in fertile age. Hospital “Vicente Corral Moscoso”, 2015-2019. Methodology: A quantitative descriptive study was carried out at the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital, and a search was made of clinical reports of patients with recurrent abortion symptoms between 2015 and 2019, obtaining a total of 83 cases, with prior authorization from the institution of health and watching the bioethical principles, the data were extracted in a self-elaborated form, after that the information was tabulated and processed in the statistical package SPSS v. 25, and presenting the information in frequency tables. Results: Most of the patients with recurrent abortion are older than 30 years in 54.2% of the cases, the history of previous abortion had 39.8% of the patients, and they had an average of 3.6 previous feats. The secondary education with 54.2%, with 37.3% primary, and 8.4% represents a higher education level; the rural sector represents 61.4%, while 38.8% are from urban area. Housework had 62.7%, the 14.5% practice had a profession, others had 10.8%, the 6% are studying, 3.6% are engaged in agriculture and 2.4% are artisans, 56.6% are married followed by common law union with 25.3%, single women with 16.9% in women with a diagnosis of recurrent abortion, also, the majority of patients had 2 additional diagnoses to recurrent abortion (38.6%), followed by one diagnosis (26.5%). The most frequent risk factors in women in fertile age with a diagnosis of recurrent abortion were vaginal infection (60.2%), being a passive smoker (50.6%) and overweight (45.8%). Most of the habitual abortion women did not have births (50.6%), followed by those who had vaginal birth with 36.1%, in the age groups younger than 20 years and older than 30 years, overweight stands out as more frequent nutritional status with 60% and 51.1% respectively, and in the case of the age group between 20 and 30 years, a normal body mass index prevailed. Conclusion: the patients with recurrent abortion symptoms who came to the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital are elderly, multi-pregnant mothers, with controllable risk factors and associated multiple pathologies.Item Conocimientos y actitudes de los estudiantes del 3ro bachillerato de la “Unidad Educativa Chordeleg” sobre métodos abortivos, 2018(2019) Palomeque Saquicela, Jéssica Paola; Pacheco Marcatoma, Blanca Sarbelia; Altamirano Cárdenas, Ruth XimenaBackground: morbidity and mortality in women due to abortion is one of the main indicators of the health dimensions that a population must face, in addition to highlighting poverty and the lack of education to exercise their rights. Having knowledge about various health methods of pregnancy termination reduces the morbidity and mortality of women in fertile state. General Objective: identify the knowledge and attitudes of the students of the 3rd baccalaureate of the Unidad Educativa Chordeleg on abortive methods, 2018. Methodology: a descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional study was carried out, working with a finite universe of 147 students of the Chordeleg Educational Unit of the 3rd baccalaureate. The instrument used was a questionnaire of knowledge and an attitude test, validated in the research of Trujillo and Sembrera (2015). This instrument was adjusted to our research, in order to achieve our objectives. The data were analyzed in the statistical program SPSS 15 and the results are presented in frequency tables and percentages. Result Results: According to the results of the surveys, it was found that 51% of adolescents reside in the rural area, 91.2% have an age between 17 to 19 years, 51% represent the female sex, 68% have received sex education by government entities. In relation to the knowledge on abortion, 74.1% evidenced low basic aspects of the interruption of pregnancy, 76% do not know about the safe medical abortive methods.
