    El rol del docente de educación básica en la prevención del abuso sexual infantil

    Nowadays, despite the great advances of scientific knowledge in society in respect to sexuality, there are children and teenagers (CT) that are still victims of child sexual abuse (CSA). We decided to compose the following bibliographic compilation and analysis in an effort to decipher the real issue behind this. The present work focuses in understanding the role of a basic education teacher in situations of CSA. In doing so, we’ve collected information that help us understand the following: the definition of CSA, factors of risk for CSA, factors that allow the detection of CSA, as well as physical-psychic consequences of short and long term in CT. On the other hand, the study also focuses on general proposals of detection, prevention, intervention, approach and attention of CSA from an integral perspective, moreover teacher role in the primary secondary and tertiary prevention. The analysis of the conducted studies reflect insufficient initial and continuing teacher training as well as present boundaries in the exercise of teacher role towards CSA. Faced with this reality, another important finding, is the evident necessity of strengthening public policies in the academic system with respect to the initial and continuing teacher training and the prevailing need of socialization of routes and protocols to follow for the prevention and action in cases of CSA.
