Item Determinar los riesgos laborales en centros de atención veterinaria de perros y gatos en la región 6 de la República del Ecuador(2019-07-17) Agurto Miranda, Valewska Andrea; Copara Gualán, Nadia Fernanda; Zúñiga Rocano, Julio CésarVeterinary medicine professionals are constantly exposed to injuries caused by the handling of patients and in the region. The objective of this study was to determine the incidence of occupational hazards (RL) physical, chemical and biological, classify accidents, relate and analyze the percentage of risks by provinces in veterinarians and graduates who work in the care centers of dogs and cats from region 6 of the Republic of Ecuador. A survey of 13 questions was applied to a total of 338 people, 268 MVZ: 139 men and 129 women; 70 graduates: 36 men and 34 women, was categorized by center size, sex, and position. The classification table of RL was obtained, with the number and percentage of people exposed in each case. Occupational accidents were classified into bites, scratches and punctures within the position. The scratches were significant, both in doctors and veterinary graduates. In the relationship according to sex and position, it was found that exposure to RX, formaldehyde, isoflurane, sevoflurane and contagion of zoonotic diseases were not significant. The percentage of occupational hazards obtained within the provinces was analyzed, where exposure to formaldehyde was significant within the provinces of Azuay, Cañar and Morona Santiago. It is concluded that both veterinarians and graduates are exposed daily to substances and agents that affect their health, in addition 100% of respondents suffered some type of accident caused by inadequate handling and restraint of patients
