Methods: The research was of a descriptive cross-sectional type in which the unityof analysis were the senior citizens from the La Fortaleza group. As of the obtained data from Tinetti’s scale application and questionnaire, a database was made. The frequency and distribution statistics were analyzed with the SPSS version 25 program; in addition, to determine the statistical significance between the risk of falls and the variables, the Chi-Cuadrado statistic was used. The outcomes were presented in statistical tables and charts elaborated in Microsoft Excel 2016. Results: 86 senior citizens with an average age of 76,6 years were evaluated, determining a high risk of falls (61,6 %) in such a population. A relation between the risk of falls and the variables was obtained: age (p=0,000); personal pathological history (p=0,002), this group of pathologies are mainly related to arterial hypertension (p=0,035); and, the relapse of falls both in number and frequency showed a significant statistic (p=0,000). Conclusions: After applying Tinetti’s scale, it is evident a high risk of falls in the population associated mainly with age, number and frequency of falls.Item Tratamiento fisioterapéutico en pacientes geriatricos con artritis reumatoidea en los centros de rehabilitación Hogar Cristo Rey y tercera edad del I.E.S.S. Results: There was a predominance of female sex, with a mean age of 79.44 years, most of the participants were overweight, and a minority had a cardiopulmonary history. When applying the 6 Minute Walk Test, most patients did not comply with the meters determined for their age, likewise, when using the Borg scale, most of them presented severe dyspnea levels, likewise, there is a significant relationship in terms of age with the meters walked and the severity of dyspnea as well as with the cardiopulmonary history. Conclusions: In the application of the test, the participants did not meet the predicted meters for their age, additionally, having a cardiopulmonary history or 80 years or older was significantly related to severe dyspnea, but not nutritional status and sex. The Parkinsons Disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative and infrequent disease, it is the second after dementia of the Alzheimer's type, it affects 1 or 2 in 100 elderly people older than 60 years and it can be caused by environmental or genetics factors. In addition, to present a high risk for falls, according to the Berg scale and stages III and IV predominated in the population, however, when correlating the variables such as: age, sex, disease stage and alteration of balance, no significant relationship was found. Conclusion: The Balance Berg Scale is a useful tool to measure the balance disturbance and the risk of falls in elderly people with Parkinson's disease, it showed excellent validity and reliability. Although the instrument used was adequate; it is necessary to mention that the results don't show a significant relationship with the proposed variables, since the sample for this study was small.
