Item Análisis comparativo entre sistemas estructurales sismo resistentes para edificios utilizando sistemas combinados con pórticos, muros o diagonales en hormigón y acero(2015) Andrade Sojos, José David; Jaramillo Carrillo, Maribel Karla; Carrión Monsalve, Juan EugenioThe occurrence of frequent seismic events has been one of the reasons for the study of new structural systems able to adequately address the challenges of building in this environment. This project contains a structural analysis and design of earthquake resistant buildings systems. The earthquake resistant buildings systems studied are Special Moment Frames, Special Concentrically Braced Frames, Concrete Shear Walls and Steel Plate Shear Walls. The systems were applied to buildings that would be located in Cuenca, Ecuador, and intended for residential use. For study methodology, the following codes were used as bases: AISC 341-10 for systems with structural steel, ACI 318-11 for systems with concrete, NEC-11 for load conditions. For modeling of different systems, the finite element software Etabs 2013 was used. To perform a comparative analysis of the above systems, the variables that are usually employed in buildings’ designs were considered, such as, height (number of floors) and clear spans between columns. Additionally, an economic and technical analysis comparing the above systems was considered. The variations of stories used in the buildings were four, eight and twelve stories. The clear spans between columns were six and nine meters in length. Budgets for different buildings were calculated according to the corresponding system. Together with the results of the design, they were useful in the economic and technical comparison, helping to highlight the advantages or disadvantages of each system.Item Análisis de la tensión de adherencia del hormigón con el acero de refuerzo en diferentes estados de oxidación y diferentes tratamientos de pasivación y protección(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-11-09) Barros Ochoa, Carlos Julio; Mogrovejo Carrasco, Daniel EstuardoReinforced concrete is one of the busiest construction materials in the world, its operation is based on the adhesion between concrete-steel, in this way it allows the steel to take the tensile forces, maintain the union between the two materials, taking into account the adhesion capacity it carries and the susceptibility of factors such as corrosion processes, the types of rebar of the steel rods and the passivation products, which can positively or negatively affect the adhesion capacity between these two materials. The study was developed using an experimental model based on the “pull out” test, which allows to measure the variations in tensile stress due to potential changes induced in the adherence between these two materials. In this way, the “pull out” tests were proposed with different configurations to carry out the study and thus obtain knowledge about the behavior of adherence in the construction field. Specimens were made with different oxidation configurations of the rod, the type of rebar of the steel and the passivating agent. By means of the hydraulic press of the soil laboratory, "pull out" tests were carried out and the load-displacement results were obtained, with which the adhesion stress was calculated and thus, the influence of the different factors could be statistically analyzed that were raised in the study.Item Análisis estático de un tanque de hormigón pretensado superficial para gas licuado(2015) Carrera Vanegas, Pablo Sebastián; Moscoso Fernández Salvador, Jorge FernandoThe purpose of this project is do the analysis of a prestressed concrete surface tank to store liquefied petroleum gas.In the first chapter the justification and objectives to be achieved are explained. In the second chapter are described the liquefied petroleum gas characteristics and is realized a study of the characteristics of conventional, high strength and prestressed concrete and different types of high strength steel. And shows the losses because the prestressed strength. The chapter three corresponds to the method and process followed to achieve a safe and reliable analysis, which begins with the equilibrium of internal forces produced by prestressed strength with the external forces caused for the liquefied petroleum gas that acts directly on the tank walls.The chapter four shows the analysis of a prestressed concrete surface tank, based on the results obtained previously. In the structure analysis is consider two conditions the first one in that soil stays in settling state and the second one in the soil is in active state is consideration of soil moving because of presence of the earthquake, to determine the dynamic increasing of the lateral pressure, is realize differences between the Mononobe – Okabe method used by the Chile law and the method used by the Venezuelan law. To develop the structural analysis is used ETABS v 9.7.0 software, this one helps to get a structural reinforced concrete using ribbed slab bidirectional and play slab to the metallic structure giving a perfect analysis of the structure. To design earthquake resistance is consider the static analysis suggested by CEC 2002 to design of reinforced concrete and structural steel, is created an electronics files to help to design in the base of codes ACI 318-08 and AISC 360-10 respectively. Is very important the easy construction. Generally in Ecuador the bridges construction between the 10 to 20 meters to span, use slab concrete bridges. The next investigation show a typology frequently used in other countries as is the board bridges formed by box-beams. Is very important to say that our in country there an important bridge with this typology, Iberia Bridge with multiple spans of 14 meters. The following work took about the methodology of design of the of the board bridge consisting of box-beams; resumethe knowledge that should be taken for the right and functional development, for this reason we start the design of a beam reinforced of12, 15 and 18 meters of span and finally the use of the transversal post-tensioned to get the development of a monolithic structure. At a time to do excel spreadsheets of each one of the components that make up the board, all this analysis compares with the Software Finite Element Analysis SAP2000. It has seen suitable to strengthen the knowledge in the area of the construction of Bridges and viaducts. For that, it carried out a literature review of the main constructive technologies used in the canton Cuenca: Reinforced concrete, Prestressed concrete, and Steel. It carried out interviews to professionals in the branch of the construction that give information about their executed works, from which are formed a photographic library. Besides, it visited facilities that provide prefabricated elements like the factory “Carrasco RFV-Construcciones” for prestressed concrete, and the workshop of the Architect Patricio Aguirre that counts with the factory of structural profiles of steel, only for supplying his works.
