Item Análisis y diseño de una red San (Storage Area Network) para la Universidad de Cuenca(2007) Serpa Serpa, Jhoanna Elizabeth; Zhañay Ledesma, Henry Paúl; Parra González, Luis OttoItem Sistema integrado de contabilidad y manejo de información socio-económica de los/as alumnas del colegio universitario Fray Vicente Solano(2009) Arcentales Arévalo, Eduardo; Panjón Quinde, Wilson; Granda Juca, María FernandaItem Modelamiento del perfil de un usuario usando tecnologías semánticas(2014) Román Jarrín, Sebastián Rodrigo; Sáenz Peñafiel, Juan José; Espinoza Mejía, Jorge MauricioThe processes and activities carried out for the modeling of a digital television user profile which apply semantic technologies and external resources, are presented in this research to enrich this information. The structure of this research is divided in six chapters. The definition, scope, and goals of the project are contained in the first chapter. Subsequently, the technological context, on which the project is based, is detailed in the second chapter. This chapter involves the theoretical and conceptual framework of the topics to be dealt in the development of the thesis. Among these topics are User profiles and their modeling, Social networks, Ontologies, and Methodologies for their creation. Then, in the third chapter, the Ontology creation methodology called NeOn, which was selected within the technological context, is detailed step-by-step. Later, the method used to the collection of user profiles data from Social Networks, the data collection form, and the digital television events as external sources are specified in the chapter four. The next chapter, the chapter five, details the entire procedure followed to the prototype construction of the collection of user profiles data through semantic technologies. The configuration repository topics, the definition of the application architecture and the analytical process, design, implementation, and testing of a definitive prototype, on which will be presented the results achieved in the project, are addressed both in previous analysis as in prototype construction. Finally, conclusions and recommendations are presented in the chapter six. Furthermore, in this chapter, future works within the same guideline of user profiles and semantic technologies are outlined.Item Aplicación de tecnologías semánticas y realidad aumentada para realizar búsquedas de personas, puntos de interés y actividades dentro del campus central de la Universidad de Cuenca(2017-05-09) Chimbo Vega, David Geovanny; Contreras Andrade, Pablo Andrés; Espinoza Mejía, Jorge MauricioTwo technologies that have made great strides in recent years are semantic technologies and augmented reality. From semantic technologies is possible emphasize that they allow to model and store the information maintaining a high level of expressivity, improving the processes related to the search of information. On the other hand, augmented reality is a technology that is characterized for helping to improve the user experience by performing activities in a given physical context since they allow to combine the physical environment with virtual elements generated by computer in real time. The hypothesis in this work is that semantic search systems are an ideal complement to augmented reality applications where the objective is to search and visualize the location of elements such as people, places, events, etc. In order to support this hypothesis, this paper describes the design and implementation of a system that makes use of the two mentioned technologies, whose objective is the search of places, activities or people in the context of the University of Cuenca.Item Pronóstico de lluvia en una cuenca de alta montaña basado en técnicas de aprendizaje automático (Machine Learning) y datos del radar meteorológico de medición de lluvias de banda X CAXX(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-02-26) Lara Sanmartín, Franklin Enrique; Vázquez Patiño, Angel OswaldoLiterature related to the rainfall forecast in highlands using Machine Learning techniques is not extensive, especially in tropical Andean regions such as Ecuador. One of the possible reasons is the limited data due to the difficulty of implementing hydro-meteorological stations in these zones. This also because of the complex topography, which at the same time makes it difficult to obtain acceptable forecasting results since there is a high level of temporal rainfall variability. In order to obtain better rain observations in Ecuador, a network of meteorological radars called RadarNet-Sur was implemented; each radar provides observations of reflectivity which can be used to derivate rain rates. One of the most essential zones that one of the radars covers is the city of Cuenca (> 600.000 inhabitants) where extreme events such as flooding’s and river overflows can have catastrophic consequences. Therefore, the development of rain forecasting models, in order to prevent the effects of the extreme events previously mentioned, is crucial for the decision-makers. In this thesis, Support Vector Machine and Random Forest techniques were used to forecast one-hour reflectivity by using the data of Radar CAAX and converting it into rain rate. The results indicate that it is possible to learn from the data only by using a reflectivity variable captured by the X-band radar. On the one hand, the random forest models provide values approximated to the optimum for the metrics PCC, BIAS and RMSE, which allow forecasting reflectivity in order to transform it into rain rate.Item Metodología para la creación de aplicaciones de realidad extendida aplicada a espacios expositivos. Caso de estudio: Museo Remigio Crespo Toral, Cuenca, Ecuador(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-02-18) Agudo Guiracocha, Dayana Isabel; Barreto Paredes, Christian Fabian; Parra González, Luis Otto; Granda Juca, María FernandaExtended reality applications must consider critical aspects such as experience design, interaction design, and changing system requirements. In particular, when it comes to applications developed for exhibition spaces, which are spaces in which users seek to obtain unique and satisfactory experiences, it is necessary to consider aspects that allow these applications to provide users with good user experiences. In this context, it is necessary to apply a development methodology with which applications that provide a good user experience are obtained. The objective of this work is to develop and evaluate a methodology for the creation of this type of applications, based on UserCentered Design and the Agile development approach, in the context of exhibition spaces. Additionally, a case study is presented, in which the proposed methodology is used to develop the prototype of a web application that allows 360° tours of the Elia Liut exhibition and the Archaeological Reserve of the “Museo Municipal Remigio Crespo Toral” of the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. This work considers an experimental research methodology that contemplates two approaches. The first approach consists of a theoretical component that provides the necessary foundations for the development of this work. The second approach consists of: i) the empirical evaluation of the proposed methodology, against the performance and perceptions of the users. ii) The empirical evaluation of the usability of a prototype developed using the proposed methodology. Finally, the results of this work indicate that the proposed development methodology is easy to use, useful and there is the intention of using it in the future. As for the prototype, it was determined that it is usable.Item Prototipo de sistema informático para el descubrimiento de patrones de publicación y citación en la producción científica de la Universidad de Cuenca a través de indicadores bibliométricos y técnicas de minería de datos(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-03-03) Landívar Ordóñez, Tania Maricela; Rendón Loja, Ronaldo Sebastián; Sigüenza Guzmán, Lorena CatalinaCollections management in university libraries is a fundamental activity, since it is in charge of providing a set of bibliographic sources that satisfy the information needs. However, in some cases access to certain sources may have a high economic value. Based on this premise, there is a need for strategies/methods to help make decisions regarding collection management. At the University of Cuenca, this process is managed based on certain guidelines such as databases with greater global significance or usage statistics generated by the providers, which partially reflect the scientific and academic activity, as well as the information needs. For this reason, the purpose of this degree work is to implement a web system that allows the generation of a knowledge base based on the discovery of publication and citation patterns that support this type of decisions. For this process, scientific articles of researchers with affiliation to the University of Cuenca indexed in Scopus and Latindex in the period (2016 - 2020) are taken into consideration, a methodology for data analysis and collection was applied, as well as certain concepts of bibliometric analysis such as Bradford's law and data mining techniques for data processing. In addition, the traditional development methodology was used as a reference for the development of the system. Among the main results, it was possible to obtain a list of bibliographic sources (scientific journals) where most is published, cited, consulted and have the highest impact factor. These sources are verified if it is available in the bibliographic databases contracted by the University of Cuenca, information of great relevance that supports the decision making process.
