The negative impact of disable is a social reality. Some groups endure discrimination and exclusion, that is, this people and their families suffer by a severe rejection due to poverty, discrimination, and the effective equal opportunities. For this reason, the first chapter is referred the general aspects, the importance and the assessment of the degree of development of their capacities, and their special educational necessities. The second chapter tells about how to improve the capabilities and abilities of the disabled students. It is very important and necessary to adapt the curriculum to raise the students learning. The third chapter refers to the planning which is based on the new curricular settings, guidelines, assessments, tests, and results. The forth chapter is about the competency in the different sports and the results. Inside this process it has been included adapted lesson plans for each pupil taking into account their individual necessities; developed by the well usage of the free time while developing ludic activities with the aim to improve and to potentiate their different sorts of movements.Item Programa de actividades físicas recreativas para incentivar la inclusión social en personas con discapacidad intelectual en la Fundación Mensajeros de la Paz(2016) Ortiz Pauta, Manuel Humberto; Morocho Alvarado, Rilda Mariela; Cornejo Zambrano, Andrés ManuelThis research was aimed at conducting a program of recreational physical activity for persons with intellectual disability in accordance with its needs; with the aim of achieving a process of social inclusion into the community. The study and research was carried out over a period of six months with the participation of 30 people with intellectual disabilities who are part of Mensajeros de la Paz foundation - extension Santa Maria de Quillosisa belonging to Santa Isabel town. To accomplish this purpose first of all was necessary know the historical background of intellectual disability, the definition and classification, understand what are recreational activities and the benefits that provide to people with intellectual disabilities, to finally design a program that contain physical and recreational activities whose characteristics be easy to apply and understand by these people. As for the results obtained with the design and implementation of the program it was possible to demonstrate that 90% of people suffer changes in their personal, emotional and social level through the practice of recreational physical activity that allows them to correct postural defects and locomotion; to improve their mood and join to the group around him and the society, achieving a bond of belongings in a reciprocal way so much of the community towards these people from these people into the community or society, while the remaining 10% did not have any progress due to the high degree of intellectual disability that they had.Item Propuesta metodológica de un programa en la etapa de iniciación en la bailoterapia en las personas mayores de 30 años de edad en el parque el Cebollar de la Prefectura del Azuay(2016) Calle Arevalo, María Teresa; Jara Bermeo, Johanna PriscilaThe following research will present the beginning of “Bailoterapia” that was developed in “Cebollar” park, with the purpose of helping the participants there to improve the learning process with a sequence of certain basic steps in choreographies which they can execute easily. Many participants are over 30 years old. To the fact of helping them more there were added the recreational games which allow people in there get better their mood and create friendship links between them. At the beginning of this process the survey was carried out to provide information on where people response regarding mood before and after performing “bailoterapia”. The methodology was based on the interviews and diagnoses asking people the most common diseases according to their practice. There were found the following: obesity, blood pressure and stress which were a wide information area to avoid or normalize each of them through physic activity. During the process of development of were performed merengue, cumbia, and nation rhythms that mostly like to the participants that motivate the practice of this activity based on easy steps of the routines that each class were specified to complete the choreography with the whole group of study. Finally, for the evaluation of this methodology it was done a survey after the ending of the process In which there are questions related to the well-being of people, skill to the execution of steps and a quantitate evaluation about the application of methodology from the instructorItem Efectos de un programa de voleibol recreativo en el nivel de sedentarismo en niños de 9 a 12 años(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-09-30) Balboa Pomavilla, Henry Jonathan; Romero Romero, Andrés Esteban; Brito Parra, Jorge EduardoBackground: the little movement in people and the long periods of time performing activities that require little effort lead to the appearance of non-communicable pathologies that sooner or later cause a high risk of mortality if it is not fought from the beginning, the promotion and Adequate practice of physical activity from an early age is an effective method to eradicate this social problem, in addition to improving the quality of life, it provides physical and psychological well-being by practicing it frequently. Objective: To analyze the effects of a recreational volleyball program on the level of sedentary lifestyle in children between 9 and 12 years from Honorato Vásquez parish. Methodology: a quantitative, pre-experimental study was carried out, the study sample is intentional for convenience that corresponds to 20 children belonging to the parish of Honorato Vásquez. To determine the level of physical activity of the participants, the PAQ-C questionnaire was used in the Spanish version with a cultural adaptation of the list of activities. The statistical analysis was carried out using Excel and the SPSS statistical program in version 20, the information is presented in tables using frequencies and percentages. The Wilcoxon test was applied to verify pre-post intervention differences. Results: the study population presents significant changes regarding the comparison of the two test take, in the first application of the questionnaire, 50% of the participants presented a null and low practice of physical activity, while after the application of the program and in turn the application of the second questionnaire shows a favorable increase in the practice of physical activity, with 85% of the participants performing moderate to intense activity and only 15% remain within a range of 15% practice. The Wilcoxon test demonstrated statistically significant changes in the participants' overall Physical Activity with a p value of 0.019Item Evaluación de la actividad física, comportamiento sedentario y medidas antropométricas del personal de enfermería(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-02-21) Lucero Calle, Edwin Vinicio; Suarez Bautista, Edinson Saul; Andrade Tenesaca, Dolores SusanaBackground: An estimated 60 per cent of the world’s population does not engage in physical activity necessary to obtain health benefits, thus increasing sedentary behaviour during work activities, and the use of passive transport contribute to sedentary lifestyle. General objective: To assess physical activity, sedentary behaviour and anthropometric measurements of nursing staff Methodology: The sample consisted of 150 people from the nursing staff of a health organization in the city of Cuenca. An analytical, prospective, observational study was carried out. Socio-demographic data were collected, observational measures and surveys were implemented. The data were processed using SPSS 20.0, using descriptive statistics, as well as Odds ratio and Chi square to measure the association between physical activity and sedentary lifestyle with anthemometric measurements. Results: The study group was composed mainly of women (94.7%), and children under 40 (61.3%), with medium socio-economic level. Physical activity in most subjects is light, with very low percentages of moderate activity (somewhat higher in nursing auxiliaries), but without statistical differences. Nurses spend more time per day on activities outside the home, while nurses do more at home. Conclusions: In the study population there is a high tendency to overweight and obesity, as well as abdominal obesity. Subjects with less physical activity and more hours devoted to sedentary activities showed a higher percentage of cases with overweight or obesity and abdominal obesity.Item Determinación del nivel de conocimiento del currículo de Educación Física 2016 y su aplicación en docentes del área(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-03-11) Montalván Astudillo, Joseline Samanta; Guamán Guayllasaca, Erick Fabián; Contreras Calle, Wilson TeodoroThe project sought to determine the level of knowledge of Physical Education teachers in the city of Cuenca about the 2016 curriculum and to develop a proposed guide for its implementation. This study is qualitative and quantitative in nature, allowing to establish the degree of application of the 2016 Physical Education curriculum by teachers in their planning. To develop this research, information obtained through the interview (carried out virtually) was used where possible barriers (problems) were defined regarding the application and implementation of the current Physical Education curriculum. Additionally, a "help guide for teachers" was developed where barriers and possible solutions are discussed for the application of a training program where both aspects were evidenced, the same as applied by an external professional in the area with a duration of 3 months. The research had two stages, the first was a case study, in which the level of knowledge of the teachers was determined with the interview and barriers were detected to execute the help guide with possible solutions that was applied to 12 teachers of different ages and gender of 4 educational institutions both public and private. In the second part, a pre-experimental study was carried out, where with the help guide developed, a training program was applied dealing with the barriers and possible solutions that were applied to 12 teachers from the La Asunción Private Educational Unit. This study served to gain knowledge about the level of preparation that teachers have for the implementation of the 2016 curriculum. For the development of a guide to help and for its subsequent implementation, barriers and possible solutions that are presented to the teacher were found Physical Education teacher when making use of the curriculum in their planning.Item Efectos de un programa de entrenamiento para el desarrollo de las capacidades físicas categoría sub-16(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-11-06) Nantipia Mitiap, Jhordy Alexander; Quezada Andrade, Jacinto DamiánPhysical capacities are all those conditions that an organism has and within the sporting framework they are the fundamental bases for optimum individual and collective performance. In the present research, the effects of a training programme for the improvement of physical capacities in the U-16 category of the football schools of the Municipality of Cuenca Paccha Headquarters are addressed. Through the implementation of a training programme for the development of physical abilities with an experimental approach with a duration of 12 weeks. The objective of this study is to analyse the effects of a training programme for the improvement of the physical capacities of the U-16 category of the sports institution in question. As for the results, the population group of the research was 22 members randomly grouped into 2 groups of 11 each. Group A is subjected to the training programme, while group B does not participate in the proposed training; but both groups were evaluated at the beginning and at the end of the programme with the tests corresponding to the physical capacity of strength by means of the horizontal jump test; speed with the 10x5 metres speed test; flexibility with the deep trunk flexion test and resistance with the Course Navette test or the Leger-Lambert test. It was concluded that the training plan implemented has had favourable results.Item Programa de danza folklórica para mejorar las capacidades coordinativas en estudiantes de básica media de la "Unidad Educativa Ángel Polivio Chávez"(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-02-29) Chabla Morquecho, Lupe Margarita; Tituana Salinas, Evelyn Yomara; Contreras Calle, Wilson TeodoroThe coordinative capacities are those that allow the subject to execute movements efficiently, accurately, and harmoniously through practice. Therefore, their development is of great importance in human being from early ages to adult ages; therefore, if they are not adequately worked in the first years of life, problems may arise in the future related to the integration of conditional physical abilities. The present study called “Folkloric dance program to improve coordination skills in middle school students of the “Unidad Educativa Angel Polivio Chavez” had the objective of applying a folkloric dance program to improve coordination skills in children. This is a quasi-experimental study since a folkloric dance program was implemented. The sample consisted of a total of 84 children from the “Angel Polivio Chavez” Educational Unit in the city of Cuenca. In order to know the level of coordinative capacities, the 3JS test was evaluated before and after the intervention, which allowed the evaluation of global motor coordination from a criterion perspective. Next, a 9-week folkloric dance program was applied, using three weeks for each rhythm (coast, highlands and east). Finally, a comparative analysis of the pretest and posttest on the effect of the folkloric dance program on the coordination capacities was carried out, resulting in significant differences in these capacities after the intervention.Item Propuesta didáctica para la inclusión basada en juegos pre-deportivos de fútbol en estudiantes de bachillerato de la unidad educativa “Miguel Merchán Ochoa” de la ciudad de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2026-02-19) Ochoa Quinde, Anthony Ariel; Picón Calle, Carlos Mateo; Quezada Andrade, Jacinto DamiánThe literature indicates that physical activity and sports play an important role in promoting inclusion within the educational environment, as they encourage interaction, cooperation, and respect among students. In this sense, physical education classes become a key space for strengthening coexistence and a sense of belonging, provided that the activities are carried out from an inclusive approach. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of implementing a teaching proposal for inclusion based on pre-sports soccer games in high school students at the Miguel Merchán Ochoa Educational Unit in the city of Cuenca during the 2025-2026 school year. The research is non-experimental and descriptive. The sample consisted of 28 first-year students in the General Unified Baccalaureate program. Data collection was carried out using the PIQ Perceptions of Inclusion Questionnaire and a field diary to record observations related to participation. The results of the pretest showed less favorable perceptions in aspects related to coexistence, social integration, and academic confidence. After implementing the proposal, the post-test showed an improvement in students' perceptions of their relationships with their peers and their school experience. It is concluded that the use of pre-soccer games with an inclusive approach is a relevant strategy for promoting inclusion in physical education classes, as it fosters opportunities for participation, emotional well-being, and positive coexistence.Item Prevalencia del nivel de Actividad Física en mujeres embarazadas de los centros de salud del Cantón Cuenca, 2025(Universidad de Cuenca. Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2026-04-03) Orellana Navarro, Tamara Fernanda; Sanango Martínez, Marcela Carolina; Cobos Bermeo, Nelson AlbinoDuring pregnancy, physical activity constitutes a fundamental pillar for maternal and fetal health; however, its practice may be influenced by social, cultural, and educational factors. The aim of this study was to evaluate the level of physical activity in pregnant women attending Health Centers in the canton of Cuenca during 2025. The methodology was developed under a quantitative approach, with an analytical cross-sectional design. A total of 215 pregnant women participated, selected through cluster sampling. Data collection was carried out using a sociodemographic questionnaire and the Pregnancy Physical Activity Questionnaire (PPAQ), a validated instrument used to assess the type, level, and intensity of physical activity during pregnancy.The results showed that the greatest contribution to total energy expenditure came from light-intensity activities, followed by moderate-intensity activities, while vigorous physical activity had minimal participation. Domestic activities constituted the main source of physical activity, followed by occupational and transportation activities. A progressive decrease in physical activity levels was observed as pregnancy advanced.In conclusion, although pregnant women engage in daily physical activity, it is mainly based on unstructured activities of low to moderate intensity, highlighting the need to strengthen physical activity promotion and education strategies during prenatal care.
