(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-07-15) Uzhca Guapacasa, Marcela Valeria; Palacios Cordero, Mireya del Pilar
This study is about the roll that sexual abuse has been developing and its relation with power through history. Research shows that the problem of sexual abuse has been derived from the relations of power that Foucault proposes. It will always exist the one who exercises power and domination over other subjects that are in some inferior positions. Whether it is through power, domination, superiority or authority on any aspect of life, but these interpersonal relations are micro-social in manner. It is found in any daily instance where there is a relationship with another person. Here, it can be said that it exists a unidirectional relationship of power. Whether it is family links, academic or diverse social groups. On the other hand, the pleasure that produces to exercise an abuse of power on the body of a person is what makes a person to commit sexual abuse. For all of this, on this analysis it is shown how it has been putting into place sexual abuse, starting from the micro-social relationships of power and from here it is derived the genealogy of sexual abuse

The thesis examines the epistemological implications of Enrique Dussel's critique of Eurocentrism, a relevant but underexplored topic in existing literature. Despite recognition of his contributions to Latin American thought, there remains a gap in understanding the epistemological aspects of his ideas. The study adopts a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive approach, focusing on a bibliographic review and content analysis of documents related to Dussel's critique of Eurocentrism. The research is structured into several chapters, each addressing a specific objective that contributes to the overall analysis. The first chapter discusses Dussel's theoretical perspective on modernity and Eurocentrism, reviewing previous studies on his work. The second chapter identifies the epistemological characteristics of his critique, detailing the qualitative approach and analytical methods used. The third chapter places the epistemological implications of Dussel's critique within decolonial narratives that oppose Eurocentrism, highlighting how these narratives develop in the context of globalization. Finally, the work synthesizes the key findings, underscoring the relevance of the identified epistemological implications and suggesting future research directions to explore Dussel's impact on other aspects of Latin American thought, particularly in relation to decoloniality and the critique of modernity within a globalized framework.

The Flipped Classroom has had a strong impact as an alternative model in recent times that has sought thatstudent assume a leading role and stop being mere spectators of learning, while teachers leave aside their role of being transmitters of knowledge to become mediators and organizers of the teaching-learning process.
Within the construction of beauty and identity imaginary of the undergraduates, the body occupies an important place. The influence of the medical discourse conceives the human body as a purely biological entity. The development of philosophical thought jointly with gender studies give the body a social sense and analyzes it as an object of study that speaks out of pressures and social tensions, resulting in a tour in which the dominion of a gender over other is built. The body becomes a shaping object according to the complexity of the social structure to which the person belongs; influenced by pressure from the media. By applying a Spanish version of SATAQ - 3 the main factors involved in shaping the beauty ideal of university students are explored, whose results provide comparable factors to studies conducted in other countries. Furthermore, with the use of focus groups, specific discussions are obtained, where differences between male and female students regarding the importance of body representation and others perception are found, while there are congruences between male and female students about the perception and meaning of hegemonic beauty disseminated in the media. The relative distance expressed towards hegemonic beauty for both men and women would be a positive factor in the construction of youth identities.

This investigation entitled Sexual Education: Perceptions, Knowledge and Attitudes of the Initial Education students at the University of Cuenca, is considered as the first approach and vision about Sexual Education that university students, who are studying to be educators of boys and girls between 0 and 6 years old, have on it. This research has been addressed from an exploratory descriptive study based on these three main categories: Perceptions, Knowledge and Attitudes about Sexual Education in childhood. Therefore, the study presents a qualitative approach, which collected the information from 16 semi-structured interviews carried out with 4 students from each semester of the Initial Education major at the University of Cuenca. The results show that the opinion and conception that students have on Sexual Education is assertive because it is considered necessary from the first stages of human formation. However, another of the obtained results demonstrates the deficiency of well-founded theoretical knowledge on the issues that surround Sexual Education in early childhood. It can lead to a gap when taking it into professional practice because although there is a positive predisposition, it is not theoretically known how to bring it to the reality of the classroom.

This monograph analyzes how the explanatory order, according to Jacques Rancière’s ideas in “The Ignorant Schoolmaster”, contributes to reproducing inequalities in contemporary educational and social practices. Based on a critical review of traditional pedagogy and the theory of the equality of intelligences, it examines how explanation, understood as a hierarchical mediation, limits the autonomous appropriation of knowledge and reinforces symbolic barriers that exclude non-institutionalized forms of knowing. The work develops three main axes: the restriction of access to legitimized knowledge, the denial of the equality of intelligences and its impact on epistemic subjectivity, and the alternatives for resignifying explanation as an emancipatory practice. The study draws on authors such as Illich, hooks, Biesta, Bourdieu, and Mezirow to contrast perspectives and deepen the critical reading of Rancière. It concludes that dismantling the explanatory order implies recognizing the capacity of all subjects to produce and verify knowledge collectively, displacing the dependence on the teacher as the sole guarantor. Thus, it argues that explanation can be transformed into a horizontal space of dialogue that democratizes knowledge and promotes educational and social equality. This reflection offers tools to rethink pedagogical practices towards more just and inclusive approaches.

Suicide is a complex and delicate subject that has been approached from different perspectives throughout human history. In this paper, we will focus on analyzing suicide from the philosophical viewpoint of Albert Camus, who considered the absurdity of existence to be one of the main causes of suicide in contemporary society. In this sense, our aim is to explore how Camusian philosophy can help us understand the roots of the problem of suicide today and how we can approach it from a more humane and comprehensive perspective. To do so, we will analyze Camus' main works, such as "The Myth of Sisyphus" and "The Stranger", and relate them to some social problems such as migration, violence and unemployment that affect our society today. In short, this paper aims to contribute to the debate on suicide and to offer a deep reflection on the meaning of life from the philosophical perspective of Albert Camus.

This monographic work focuses on theater as a didactic strategy from a perspective focused on the process and protagonist of the children in the development of theatrical activities, leaving aside the perfection of the final product. In this aspect, the theater becomes a didactic, and playful medium that respects the different learning rhythms of each of the children. In addition, this strategy is considered as a natural and spontaneous medium where dynamic spaces are developed that enhance children's creativity and imagination. Regarding the methodology implemented, it is qualitative, with a descriptive approach, since it allows understanding a social situation as a whole. By means of this work we try to demonstrate bibliographically the contribution of theater as a didactic strategy in the development of the social skills of infants, therefore, we proceeded to the elaboration of a didactic guide made up of a series of playful, creative and flexible activities focused on theater as a didactic strategy, with the purpose of improving and developing the social skills of infants at the kindergarten and high school levels. For the above-mentioned, it is recommended to use theater as a didactic strategy, since it significantly favors the development of the social skills of the infants.

(2019) Pazmiño Barreto, Karla Belén; Palacios Cordero, Mireya del Pilar
In the hard process of continue research advances in the area of sexuality and religion, the present study has set as the main object describing and exposing the discourses of Cuenca’s catholic women related with their sexuality and enjoyment of their sexual pleasure. This project tries to identifying the female model and role that was learned and it has followed socially and culturally from the Catholic perspective and how the women’s faith and their beliefs have influenced the learning correlated to sexuality. According to that, a qualitative approach and narrative kind of research was carried out in which 10 Catholic women participated in in-depth interviews, resulting in various criteria that allowed demonstrating all the influence of Catholic morality in the experience of sexual pleasure, having as reference sin and carnal disorders in women´s speeches. From this perspective, a wider area of study was evidenced where psychotherapy, together with a psycho-education in sexuality can promote and support programs for those women who, even with the passing years, carry with them a sense of guilt related to their decisions about having sexual intercourse before marriage, trusting on contraception to better enjoinment of their sexuality as a couple and to experience other ways to achieve sexual pleasure. At the same time, this work increases the interest on future studies about the constructed imaginaries into the religious-feminine psyche.
