Adaptación cultural de la comunidad Shuar en la ciudad de Cuenca; el caso de Melania Mitiap y Jhanely Estefanía Wampiu

Due to the large number of indigenous migrants in the City of Cuenca, and the limited documentation of their reality of life by living in a medium completely different from their origin, the journalistic investigation was proposed: "Cultural adaptation of the shuar community in the city of Cuenca; the case of Melania Mitiap and Jhanely Estefanía Wampiu". In carrying out this research, account was taken of the Shuar indigenous people living in the city of Cuenca, specifically two characters (Melania Mitiap and Jhanely Wuampiu) native to the Shuar ethnic group in the province of Morona Santiago, who already live 12 years in the urban basin. Through an audiovisual documentary of 45 minutes of duration, is narrated the life story of these characters, that goes from his childhood in the community Shuar San Luis of Inimquis, his family, his studies, the circumstances and reasons for which they decide to migrate to the city; until reaching their process of adaptation in the urban environment and as such process is related in the field of culture, the tradition and language they inherited from their ancestral people. This was not intended to generalize to all indigenous peoples, not even to the same Shuar community, what was sought was from a small lens to contribute with one of the different visions that this topic can have and to leave the curtain open for each one to present their own conclusion; and, more importantly, to encourage young researchers interested in topics relevant to the country’s multiculturality, and to delve into such important issues as the migration of these indigenous peoples and their acculturation process. Since this documentary is considered only as a small start and incentive to discover what our city hides in terms of the culture of the indigenous peoples and their histories; and, of course, there is much more to bring to light.
Adaptación de cuentos populares andinos a radioteatro con técnica de sonido holofónico

The project “Adaptación de Cuentos Populares Andinos a radioteatro con técnica de sonido holofónico” has as main objective the realization of five radial productions, in the scope of communicational creativity, they turn around of three sub topics that we have considered important like: popular stories, radio theater and holophony. They form a important link between them, recovering ancestral knowledge, traditions within social communication in the radial sphere, and with a technological plus in this case is holophony or binaural sound technique. The purpose of this project is to generate a production which appeals to the imagination of the human being, making through sounds and the construction of scenarios from the audition, the person who listens to the final products learn what means to create sensations and emotions without the need to use the five senses that human beings have, only one. In this way, we learn more about our culture in an attractive and innovative way, and we can know a little more where we come from, the different myths and legends that are born around the creation of certain cultures of our country, the same that we have taken into account of the different regions as Sierra, Coast and the Amazon. To obtain a variety within the five capsules presented as final product.

This research project analyzed the content published by the Ecuadorian digital media outlet La Posta on its Instagram account, focusing on its coverage of the political impeachment process during the period from April to May 2023 against former President Guillermo Alberto Santiago Lasso Mendoza, who held the presidency of Ecuador from May 24, 2021, to November 23, 2023. The study examines how La Posta's posts captured user attention and engagement, emphasizing the level of interaction generated by politically relevant topics. Furthermore, the influence of La Posta on public opinion was discussed, and recommendations were proposed to enhance digital content strategies and strengthen informational credibility. This thesis aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the role of digital media in shaping political perceptions in Ecuador.

This investigation was based on the analysis of the journalistic notes published in the diaries EL TIEMPO y EL MERCURIO, during February, March, April and May of the year 2012 and 2013. The intention was to determine which is the journalism current situation of the in risks of disastersthe management, as well as also to identify the problems that arise to the moment to treat information of this nature. To reach the objective I analyzed the content published in the newspapers, took the experts opinion and consulted manuals issued by institutions understood with this matter.All these actions gave recommendations that will be able to be used by the journalists during his professional exercise.
Análisis de la práctica profesional del periodismo deportivo en medios de Cuenca

The present research work "Analysis of the professional practice of sports journalism in the media of Cuenca" aimed to analyze the professional practice of sports journalism within the media in Cuenca. To investigate everything related to its beginnings in the communication in the city, the growth it has had and generate a general radiography of how this branch of journalism is currently. In order to carry out this research work, methods such as interviews and the testimony of professionals dedicated to sports journalism were used, as well as reinforcing some concepts issued by researchers, journalists and teachers. The material obtained in the fieldwork was reinforced with bibliographical review obtained from consultations about several authors who have written books and articles on sports journalism. The result that could be determined is a majority interest for the development of this profession within the journalistic plane, although with some flaws inherited from the beginnings of this branch that have still been overcome.

The research entitled "Analysis of the employment situation of women in the newsroom of the local newspapers, June-November 2014 period," started with a historical, social and political path, through the analysis of bibliographic history texts were reviewed the women and government policies in Ecuador; also from sociology, psychology and communication it was addressed: the power relationship as Lidia Heller, the characteristics of the glass ceiling as Mabel Burin and theory of labor categorization of women by Barbro Dahlbom-Hall. Later surveys and interviews with women working in rooms cuencanas current wording was performed. With the objectives determined professional profile, work environments and hierarchical levels. Finally, the data showed: lack of awareness of gender inequalities of power between men and women, and existing burdens of women when trying to combine work with domestic space.

Journalism has taken great leaps towards modernity through digital multimedia technology, digital convergence and transmediality. Hypertext and interactivity are characteristics that define the Web 2.0 that break with the linear and unidirectional communication enabling journalists, the media and users be closely connected. For the investigation we did a research analysis of transmedia narratives, online journalism and the characteristics that define a digital journalist. We proceeded to know and then to conduct a study of reception media Comunica-Girón, which bases its functional structure in the digital sphere, for which methods and research techniques of descriptive exploratory scope, process of observation were applied, documentary collection and tabulation of information.
Análisis de las representaciones sociales de violencia en la hinchada del fútbol ecuatoriano

The analysis of the social representations of violence among Ecuadorian football fans aimed to explain how social imaginaries are built regarding the most popular sport in Ecuador, taking into account moments in this sport in which extreme violence has been witnessed globally and locally that have significantly marked society. The main objective was to describe the most representative events of manifestations of violence that occurred in this field, especially those that occurred within the fans, to analyze how identities and regionalisms have been constructed within these groups; in addition to being able to determine through the qualitative and descriptive method what the antecedents and consequences of these social representations are. To do this, a qualitative analysis methodology was applied to acts of violence in football, as well as interviews and surveys to find out the opinions of the main members of this environment. From the conclusions obtained, it stands out that violence in sports settings is linked to fans who transform this sport into something more emotional, manifesting it physically and aggressively to defend the colors of their team; Despite this, these attitudes are not the absolute rule that all fans of this sport present nor are they present in all sporting events, but some exceptions are recognized as negative circumstances for the football environment.

The research was developed around the analysis of advertising studies in Cuenca university context. The process of executing the research was determined by three moments: First, it was responsible for collecting information on the historical background of emergence and development of the media; A second moment focused on the influence of advertising within the cultural, political, and economic context of globalization; The third and last moment was focused on the analysis of advertising studies in Social Communication careers at three Cuenca universities: University of Cuenca, Catholic University of Cuenca, Azuay University. The development of this third moment used the analysis of the current academic syllables applied in the mentioned universities, besides the opinions of teachers from the universities mentions, opinions gathered through interviews. What we try to investigate in this work was the approach that has the teaching of advertising in university education, trying to understand if this approach is merely commercial or if there is a formation of advertising closest to the social function to processes of social transformation. One of the axes from which it started was the relationship between advertising and society. It was considered important to investigate the extent to which advertising may or may not configure the structures, values, and social needs of a community, and since the university's academic sphere is the space in which future publicists are trained, it was thought important to address the relationship between advertising / society from this place.

This research aims to determine planning strategies for the development of the corporate brand Chamber of Tourism of Azuay, identify their strengths, weaknesses, by internal and external analysis of the institution in order to set strategies that allow us to achieve having a greater corporate positioning in the tourism market; with the aim of strengthening the tourism sector in the province through its two core competencies promotion and training. This is important to diagnose the failures in the market that the brand owns and skills that allow us to determine successful development in brand positioning, to ensure the soundness and institutional identity and thus allows up brand positioning with respect to their applying competitors related to the field of public relations knowledge, publicity, because at present it is important to have a corporate image that reflects what the institution is, what you want to give people, because this will be his biggest test.
Análisis del contenido informativo de las páginas web de cuatro municipios azuayos, en relación con la categoría participación ciudadana

ABSTRACT This research thesis titled “Analysis of information content of the web pages of four Azuay municipalities, in relation to citizen participation” has as a primary objective of determining the forms of citizen participation available through the information on the websites of the municipalities of Girón, Gualaceo, Paute and Santa Isabel. This paper also aims to verify that the laws that protect the right to information and participation, as established by the current Constitution of the Republic, are being completed. The research process was based on the review of bibliographic and legislative documents related to the topic of study. The analysis of this content, under qualitative and descriptive parameters, was the primary focus of the process. The research was based on four axes of analysis: design of the homepage, informative content of the news page, social networks and completion of the Transparency and Access to Information Law. Each axis of study was directed to identify citizen participation on the websites. The research findings clearly indicate that citizen participation does not exist, and we present proposals for improvement. The most significant suggestion is to include citizens in municipal administration decision-making through technology and social networks. The recommendations of this paper can be applied to all four of the municipal websites: www.giron.gob.ec, www.gualaceo.gob.ec, www.paute.gob.ec y www.santaisabel.gob.ec, because they share similar features in their information management, updates, interactivity and design.
Análisis del desempeño actual del periodista deportivo en los medios de comunicaciones digitales en Cuenca

Faced with the crisis and the threat of the gradual disappearance of traditional media, journalists and communicators have been forced to adapt to digital environments. Journalism has incorporated the use of technologies and developed new digital skills. This thesis analyzed the current performance of sports journalists in digital media in the city of Cuenca. To this end, three specific objectives were set: first, it explored how sports journalists integrate digital tools into their professional practice, which was achieved through a content analysis of posts on the social network Facebook. Second, through the use of in-depth interviews, specific professional experiences were recorded that demonstrate the use of emerging technologies to inform and connect with audiences. Third, the main best practices in the production and dissemination of sports content in digital media were identified; this was achieved through the analysis of these experiences. The research adopted a mixed approach, combining content analysis with qualitative interviews. Among the most relevant conclusions, it is noteworthy that sports journalists incorporated new digital tools into their daily work. Likewise, it was evident that there is no formula for achieving greater reach and impact on audiences, as each professional develops their own dissemination strategy, selection of specific topics, and builds their own model for managing media, sponsors, and audiences in a particular way.
Análisis del discurso político indígena en octubre de 2019, durante las manifestaciones en Ecuador

The elaboration of the study consisted of the topic of the demonstrations that took place in the month of October 2019, the same that were exposed by the indigenous people, and their respective representatives: Mr. Jaime Vargas and Mr. Leonidas Iza, who at the time represented the presidency of the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador (CONAIE) and the Indigenous and Peasant Movement of Cotopaxi (MICC). Likewise, this work proposed as a general objective: to analyze the type of indigenous political discourse used in October 2019 in Ecuador. Maintaining an organization according to the objectives to be achieved, in this case, the indigenous people had as a purpose, to leave without effect the new Decree 883 established by the President of the Republic of that period Lenin Boltaire Moreno Garcés, which meant for them an affectation in the whole socioeconomic area. Finally, a detailed critical analysis of the speeches made by the representatives of this demonstration was developed in detail; a comparison was also made with the public speech of former President Jaime Roldós. The purpose of this analogy was to elaborate a study of the political speeches against the reality of indigenous manifestations that Ecuador has presented. This work allowed to identify the type of discourse that was used during that period of public expositions in several cities of the Ecuadorian territory, being thus, a persuasive discourse, and statements of appeal, that served to persuade the government with the purpose of obtaining some type of support in front of the complicated situations.

Internet search engines are a source of scientific research that allows to obtain updated information at the time, events occurring in the world and all kinds of information that every student should know to interact and improve communication with their teachers. For this, there exist in the networks a series of search engines that help and enhance the learning process to the extent that they offer high chances of having important and quality information. Faced with this situation, the research topic "Descriptive analysis of internet search engines and their uses among teachers and students of the Basic Education School La Providencia, in the canton of Machala, province of El Oro, in the year 2016" is presented. Based on an existing problem in this institution. During the investigation the quantitative-qualitative approach was applied with a descriptive methodology. For this purpose, teacher surveys, interviews with teachers and an observation sheet were applied during the classes. The objective of the research is: To analyze the use of Internet tools, search engines and social networks by teachers and students of the Basic Education School La Providencia of the city of Machala, province of El Oro in 2016. The results provided by the research were processed and critically analyzed the same that allowed us to realize the lack of internet in the classroom and use different internet search engines in order to maintain effective communication and interaction between students and teachers.

The main objective of this work was to develop a proposal of communication, dowry characteristics of an adequate flow of information through appropriate work and creating a good working environment, through research, analysis and interpretation of the processes internal communication, helping to strengthen the channels used and addressing timely, effective and accurate information, in the Municipal Public Enterprise Mobility Traffic and Transportation of Cuenca EMOV EP. The proposal is divided into three chapters where the history of internal communication was counted, giving the necessary information that the state of information at the institution rose, and recommended how to improve it. The methodology of information was used, in addition to the tool used by the sample survey as part of the proposal in the analysis of existing information channels to reinforce the creation of the area of internal communication.

This study entitled: Analysis and description of the use of Facebook and Instagram as means and instruments to promote services and corporate image of the Hotel Oro Verde, Cuenca is mixed research that includes a qualitative and quantitative, exploratory, descriptive and transactional that was carried out in order to analyze the content published on social networks (Facebook and Instagram) during the 2019-2020 period and determine the appropriate informative content for these platforms. To achieve the proposed objectives, a content analysis was carried out considering three key dimensions that were: semantic aspects, thematic aspects and configurative aspects. Among the findings, the lack of a slogan that reinforces the informative content, inconsistencies between the image and the message that was wanted to be transmitted in some publications, weaknesses in the semiotic aspects related to the significance of the products stand out.

The main objective in this project is to dangle the university community to practice sports and a good diet. We used the qualitative and quantitative investigation in our research looking at the other city universities pages and we discover that none of them cares about these two aspects. The tools that we used in the webpage are: interviews, photographs, videos, calendars, and news. As a result of our work we can watch the site completely working with its different tabs associated directly with the University and sports, these are: Physical Education, University Sports League, Sports Medicine, Nutrition and Exercises, Sports News (national and international) and Contact. Each of them has different elements and media for the user so he will have a better understanding of every subject. With this website the students and teachers of the University will find alternatives to get a better quality of life and sports practice without going to any gym or nutritionist.
Creación de un cibermedio para la divulgación del cine en Cuenca

In the present degree project: “Creation of a cybermedia for the dissemination of cinema in Cuenca”, it was described how to create a cybermedia: First, the theoretical background of digital communication, cyberjournalism, the convergence of the media, the journalism and social networks. Key aspects to understand what is a cybermedia and how to write for one. Second, the methodologies that were used were: The Canvas Method, to determine the viability of the implementation of the cybermedia, this determining through each of the phases required by the model. Another method used was the application of a survey with 83 indicators, whose questionnaire was proposed to people attending the Film and Philosophy Conference at the University of Cuenca, with the results obtained of the following variables of knowledge, attitude, and behavior. According to these three axes, the questionnaire was developed and applied to the selected sample. Third, some of these concepts were applied to the creation of the cybermedia on the “Wordpress” platform, where the theme that served as the basis was chosen for the website. And the categories that fed content to the website and its supporting social networks were determined; as well as, the contents that were specified in multimedia format.
