    Patrones de comunicación parental y su influencia en la funcionalidad familiar de los usuarios atendidos en el Instituto de Criminología, Criminalística e Intervención Psicosocial de la Universidad de Cuenca, Ecuador. Período septiembre 2024- febrero 2025

    Communication is an element that allows interaction in the different relationships within the family system, reflecting its fundamental role in its development and strengthening. Therefore, the present study aims to analyze parental communication patterns and their influence on the family functionality of users served at the Institute of Criminology, Criminalistics, and Psychosocial Intervention at the University of Cuenca from September 2024 to February 2025. For this, an analytical, non-experimental, and cross-sectional investigation was carried out. Likewise, the following instruments were used: the Family Functioning Questionnaire (FF-SIL) and the Scale for Evaluating Parental Communication Patterns. The sample consisted of 175 users who collaborated with the study and fulfill the role of parents. The results reflected that the predominant communication pattern in the parent-child relationship is fluid, and the families served are functional. In summary, the findings show that there is a direct relationship between the quality of communication used by parents and the level of family functionality.
