Item Competencias parentales en padres de niños que asisten a Centros de Desarrollo Infantil públicos de Cuenca(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-01-06) Arce Cuesta, Amanda Claribel; Rodríguez Jara, María de los Ángeles; Muñoz Pauta, Marco AntonioParental competencies are the set of capacities that allow fathers and mothers to face in a flexible and adaptive way the fulfillment of their role, in accordance with the needs of their children and the standards considered acceptable by society, taking advantage of all the opportunities that they offer the family influence systems to fully develop these capabilities. The purpose of this work is to determine the parental skills used by parents of children from 0 to 3 years old who attend public Child Development Centers in Cuenca. The study was developed with a quantitative research approach, the research was adjusted to a non-experimental cross-sectional design, and the scope was descriptive. A total of 130 parents, 117 mothers and 13 fathers have participated, it has been used as a measure of the Parental Competencies of the parents: the positive parentality scale (E2P). The results showed that parental competencies turned out to be optimal only in 42.3% of the population, on the other hand, such competencies tend to manifest themselves with better scores in women and at older age and family income, also, the optimal levels are more Frequent in the group of professionals and in widows or divorced people, especially for bonding and training skills. In spite of the above, the level or degree of association observed between the different variables evaluated and parental competencies was mostly weak and modulated by the sex of the parents, as well as by the marital status of the representatives
