Item Apoyo social percibido por adolescentes en un colegio fiscal de Cuenca(2018) Gañan Ramírez, Wilmer Andrés; Marcatoma Naranjo, Samantha Marcela; Aguilar Sizer, Mónica ElisaThis research aimed to identify the type of social support prevalent in adolescent males and females respectively. The quantitative approach was used, the non-experimental scope of which was descriptive, since numerical results were obtained, obtained through the application of two psychometric instruments: The Duke-UNK Functional Social Support Questionnaire and the MOS Questionnaire of perceived social support. The sample consisted of 184 adolescents belonging to the first years of the unified general baccalaureate of the National Experimental College "Benigno Malo" of Cuenca, Ecuador; being 44.02% women and 55.97% men; with an average age of 15 years. The results show that women perceive more social support than men; predominantly perceived social support based on leisure and distraction relationships; continuing with emotional support and material help. While in the perception of the emotional support subscale men excel.Item Calidad de vida y apoyo social en cuidadores primarios de niños con trastornos del neurodesarrollo(2018) Chuya Vélez, Gabriela Alexandra; Coro Montoya, Katia Alejandra; Aguilar Sizer, Mónica ElisaThis research has the objective of describe the quality of life and social support in primary caregivers of children with disorder of neurodevelopment in the Centro of Development Child is in the University of Cuenca (CEDIUC). The approach used was quantitative, with descriptive scope; we worked with the entire population, being a census the type of study. The instruments used for the collection of information were the WHOQOL – BREF questionnaire for the quality of life variable, which contains four domains: physical, psychological, environmental and social relationships; and the DUKE – UNK – 11 questionnaire for the variable social support, consisting of two dimensions: confidential support and emotional support. The results obtained show that, the majority of primary caregivers perceive their quality of life at a medium level; the domain with the highest negative score was the psychological. Regarding the variable social support, about half of the population perceive it within the average, emphasizing that there is a small difference between the perception of affective social support and confidential social support.Item Calidad de vida y sobrecarga en el cuidador primario de niños con discapacidad intelectual en Cuenca(2019-09-02) Méndez Zambrano, Paulo César; Racines Jerves, Daniel Andrés; Aguilar Sizer, Mónica ElisaThe present research is focused on the relation between quality of life levels and primary caregiver burden, following a quantitative approach and a non-experimental research with a correlational analysis. The sample consisted in 116 primary caregivers of children with intellectual disability, chosen according to convenience sampling, 102 of them were women and 14 men, in an age range between 21 and 72 years. The WHOQOL-BREF scale that measures the quality of life and the Zarit scale for overload in the caregivers were used for this study, as well as a sociodemographic record to characterize the sample. There is evidence of a trend towards the average in quality of life in its four domains, as well as a balanced distribution between absence of burden, slight burden and intense burden in the study population. There is a moderate inverse relationship between the quality of psychological, social and environmental life with respect to overload and a slight relation, between physical quality of life and caregiver’s burden.Item El autoconcepto y adaptación a la enfermedad en personas diagnosticadas con diabetes en adultos en el Centro Médico Casa de la Diabetes(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-01) Torres Peña, Ana Isabel; Murillo Galindo, Fabián Esteban; Aguilar Sizer, Mónica ElisaDiabetes (DM) is one of the fastest growing diseases worldwide, which is alarming because its condition on quality of life also has psychological consequences. The objective of this research is to describe the dimensions of self-concept and the adaptive response to the disease in adults with diabetes who attend the Casa de la Diabetes medical center, through the application of evaluation instruments, being Self-concept form 5 (AF5). and Questionnaire to assess the level of adaptive response to disease in diabetic patients (R-A Questionnaire). The study has a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design, cross-sectional and descriptive in scope, the study population is 120 people aged 18 to 65 diagnosed with DM and a non-probabilistic sample was used, with a selection at convenience. , corresponding to 60 individuals. The results indicate that people have low self-concept categories in the emotional and family dimensions, the social and academic dimensions tend to be average, and the physical dimension is high. Regarding the adaptive response to the disease, the results indicate that 96.7% of the sample does not reach the degree of satisfaction and it is found that during early adulthood, as age increases, the adaptive response declines, due to the cognitive impairment.Item Estilos de crianza y su relación con sentimientos de culpa en estudiantes de bachillerato de la Unidad Educativa Hermano Miguel De La Salle, Cuenca, periodo 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-04-28) Ramírez Quezada, Melissa Viviana; Aguilar Sizer, Mónica ElisaParenting styles constitute a constellation of parental attitudes, which are experienced, communicated and practiced with the children, creating an emotional climate in which parental strategies to educate and protect their children are manifested with the intention that they present balanced psychosocial behaviors. However, situations may arise in which caregivers induce guilt in their children, which in the long term may turn into false feelings of guilt that may trigger disorders related to depression and anxiety. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between parenting styles and feelings of guilt in high school students of the Hermano Miguel De La Salle Educational Unit in the period 2022. The research design was non-experimental transversal and correlational in scope, it was developed under a quantitative modality. The population consisted of 525 students and the sample was selected with a margin of error of 5.2% and a confidence level of 95%, which gave a sample of 213 students. Data were collected through two instruments: Steinberg's Parenting Styles Questionnaire and Guilt Scale SC-35. The results indicate that the authoritarian style was the most frequent in the sample and that adolescents tend to blame themselves more than they should, in addition, it was obtained with the correlation that the authoritarian style has the highest mean of guilt feelings with 123.53 which corresponds to the level of "excessive guilt feeling".Item Estilos y estrategias de afrontamiento en estudiantes adolescentes de Sevilla de Oro(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-01-22) Cárdenas Torres, William Omar; Sigua Orellana, José Andrés; Aguilar Sizer, Mónica ElisaAdolescence is characterized by important bio-psycho-social changes, internal and external demands that will require a certain capacity for coping. Consequently, it is necessary to know the actions employed by individuals to face the changes that this phase of life implies, because the behavior patterns established at this age can have a positive or negative impact on the subsequent mental and physical health of the person. The objective of this research was to describe the predominant coping styles and strategies in high school students according to sex, level of instruction, age and academic institution. The study was conducted with a quantitative approach, a non-experimental cross-sectional design and a descriptive scope. The population consisted of 205 high school students belonging to the two educational establishments in Sevilla de Oro. As research instruments, the Adolescent Coping Scale (ACS) and a sociodemographic record were used. The results indicated that the strategies to strive and succeed, worry, focus on the positive and seek relaxing amusements, predominate among the studied population, as well as the coping style aimed at solving problems.Item Niveles de burnout y salud mental positiva en personal de emergencia(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-01-17) Terreros Peralta, Ricardo José; Aguilar Sizer, Mónica ElisaBurnout syndrome affects individuals with different professions. However, it has been a topic widely analyzed in the emergency crew of hospitals and health centers due to the conditions of their work, and because of their own characteristics such as: being against time, being under pressure, stress and direct contact with human suffering. Also, traumatic deaths may affect mental health, so the general objective of the research was to determine the relationship between levels of Burnout and Positive Mental Health in this group of people. The research had a quantitative approach, a non-experimental design and a correlational scope, in 142 individuals who work both at an extra and in-hospital level participated. Three instruments were used, the sociodemographic record, the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and the Keyesen´s Health Continuous Short Form Mental Scale in the Ecuadorian adaptation carried out by Peña et al. (2017), which presents a cronbach's alpha of 0.91. The data collection was developed in the period of March-August 2019. The results show that the participants have high rates of Positive Mental Health and have average rates of Burnout Syndrome. In comparison with the other studies reviewed in this research, it can be said that the average levels of Burnout are maintained in the emergency crew and an adequate well-being level of Positive Mental Health.Item Niveles de depresión en adolescentes varones de Educación General Básica y Bachillerato de la Unidad Educativa Gabriel Arsenio Ullauri de la parroquia rural Llacao del cantón Cuenca, periodo 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-02-22) Chacho Chacho, Elena Patricia; Quito Campos, Sandra Johanna; Aguilar Sizer, Mónica ElisaDepression is an emotional disorder to which adolescents are more vulnerable due to the physical, emotional and cognitive changes they experience at this stage of their lives, despite the fact that educational institutions are part of their support networks, in rural Ecuador. Most educational establishments do not have a Student Counseling Department since they do not meet a number greater than 450 students as established by the Ministry of Education of Ecuador, which is why they are excluded from this right. The objective of this work was to describe the levels of depression in male adolescents of Basic General Education and Baccalaureate of the Gabriel Arsenio Ullauri Educational Unit of the rural parish of Llacao. The population with which the study was carried out was 69 male adolescents, the reason for selecting the sex of the participants is that males frequently experience their emotions by reacting angry, irritable or aggressive and these symptoms are often confused with normative behaviors of the development. The method that was used had a quantitative approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, with a descriptive scope. The instruments that were applied were the Beck depression inventory and the sociodemographic file. The data analysis was carried out using the IBM SPSS Statistical 25 software. The results indicated that 68.12% (N=47) did not present depression and 31.88% (N=22) presented some level. The most intense symptom was crying, while difficulty concentrating and changes in sleep habits are the most prevalent. It was concluded that no relevant data on levels of depression were found.Item Percepción del adolescente frente a la comunicación con sus padres en un colegio de Cuenca(2016) Ruilova Vallejo, Juan Daniel; Aguilar Sizer, Mónica ElisaThe following work has aims to determine how the teenager perceives the communication with their parents, the predominant discourse in our Western society says that this stage of transition between childhood and adulthood is full of conflicts teenager is on a quest for independence that generates conflicts with parents before his attempts to strengthen the external relations to the family giving greater importance to the peer group. For this reason arises to studying the perception of the teenager from communication with his parents in 154 students in a high-school in Cuenca applying the scale "PACS", to then analyze the questions and percentage data that will have a global vision about the topic. For this pilot test was taken 21 young people on the basis of which it was decided to slightly modify terms in the instrument to facilitate the understanding of it, without altering the evaluated data. At the end of the investigation could determine that adolescents perceive that there is better communication with the mother, we also found that in some respects is needed to strengthen communication for example in: the ability of intuition, in confidence and openness to talk about all the issues .Item Relación entre los niveles de expresión emocional y los de habilidades sociales en estudiantes del primer año de la carrera de psicología de la Universidad de Cuenca, periodo 2021(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-12-03) Contreras Alvarado, Paúl Emmanuel; Ochoa Gutiérrez, Jorge Francisco; Aguilar Sizer, Mónica ElisaEmotional expressiveness and social skills are two aspects that should be considered in human interaction, as each of them are characteristic components of human interaction. On the one hand, social skills can be defined as a set of behaviors expressed by an individual in an interpersonal context composed of feelings, attitudes, desires, opinions, etc., in a manner appropriate to the situation, respecting others; while emotional expressiveness is the ability of people to express their emotional states in observable behaviors. It should be emphasized that, as the theory indicates, a correct emotional expressiveness will allow the establishment of social relationships based on the same skills present in the individual. The present work has as objectives to demonstrate the relationship between the levels of emotional expressiveness and social skills in first year students of psychology at the University of Cuenca, period 2021; as well as to determine the levels according to the different factors of social skills in students, and to identify the levels of emotional expression with the differentiation by sex of these. The study has a quantitative approach, non-experimental design type, cross-sectional and correlational scope. We worked with a population of approximately 221 students and a sample of 140 participants. The Social Skills Scale (EHS) and the Emotional Expressiveness Scale (EES) were used for data collection. Data processing was performed in the statistical program SPSS V26 and editing of tables and graphs in Excel 2019. The results of the present research showed that there is a relationship between the levels of emotional expression and those of social skills in the students; thus demonstrating that the research fulfilled its general objective. In conclusion, the behavior of the data evidences a positive correlation between the two variables.
