Item Dominancia y afabilidad en las relaciones interpersonales en población penitenciaria masculina que cumple condena por delito de asesinato en el Centro de Privación de Libertad, Azuay no.1, de Ecuador en el año 2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-07-20) Bacuilima Oleas, Max Efren; Acurio Torres, Gabriela CarolinaInterpersonal relationships are important for human development and society as a whole. They exist in every context, including the prison environment, where they play a vital role in forming alliances and promoting rehabilitation. In this regard, dominance and amiability are essential characteristics for healthy interpersonal relationships and should be developed and positively reinforced among the prison population to support their recovery. The objective of this research was to describe dominance and amiability in interpersonal relationships among male prisoners serving sentences for murder at the Azuay No.1 Center for Deprivation of Liberty in Ecuador in 2023. The study employed a quantitative approach, utilizing a non-experimental, cross-sectional design with a descriptive scope. The sample consisted of 51 incarcerated individuals. The assessment tools used were Leslie Morey's Personality Assessment Inventory, its 2011 Spanish adaptation, and a sociodemographic questionnaire. The most relevant results were unexpected. Dominance levels were found to be appropriately adapted, while amiability was a prevalent trait, often leaning towards submission. This calls for a deeper analysis of this theme. The sociodemographic data reveals that the predominant prison population is aged between 30 and 39 years, has a primary level of education, and a history of unemployment prior to incarceration. This underscores the significance of considering these factors as significant risks in personality development.
