Item Análisis de la figura pública del indígena a través de la prensa, en la ciudad de Cuenca entre los años de 1920 y 1925(2019-04-02) Alvarado León, John Fernando; Borrero Vega, Ana LuzThe objective of this research is the construction and analysis of the public figure, the indigenous people of rural parishes, the early twentieth century through the press, the users of widespread protest in the public space of the city. It also aims to define the phenomenon of "invisibilization" and the visualization of indigenous populations in the public sphere, during the construction of citizenship and the development of the modernity of the early twentieth century. The problematic of the investigation is directed to the figure of the natives denominated of the local press and at the time as the "Indians", or the "Indian", that can be read in the editorials, a "literate and enlightened" press. What is a relation between the reality of the indigenous people and the activities and the discourse on the construction of a modern city, where traditions and new identities have been transformed in itself, the ideology of the literate city, conflicts On the subject of the investigation, the "uprising of the Indians" of 1920 and the "salt strike" of 1925.
