Item Efectividad de un programa de entrenamiento físico para el desarrollo de la fuerza explosiva del tren inferior y su incidencia en los gestos técnicos en el fútbol femenino(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-03-04) Castro Portilla, Christian Fernando; León Paladines, Juan Francisco; Achig Balarezo, José FranciscoThe objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a plyometric training program in the development of explosive strength and its impact on the technical movements of driving and finishing in the women's soccer team of the Carneras reserve of the Salesian Polytechnic University. The population consisted of 25 participants aged between 18 and 25 years. A pre- experimental, longitudinal and prospective design was used. The training program was created at University of Texas-Arlington in 2016, had a duration of six weeks, with two weekly sessions of 60 minutes each. The evaluation of power in the lower body was performed using the Squat Jump and the Counter Movement Jump of the Bosco test, recorded on video and analyzed with the My Jump 2 application. Technical gestures were evaluated before and after the program by means of a technical control test conducted by Jorge Sanchez, soccer coach. Stakes, elastics, flexometer, plates and cones were used to perform the tests. The results indicated a significant improvement in explosive strength, which translated into an increase in finishing distance and driving speed, positively impacting technical ability. There were notable improvements in the results of the pre- and post-program tests, demonstrating the effectiveness of plyometric training to develop power and improve technical gestures in female soccer players.Item Efecto de la lateralidad mediante un programa de juegos tradicionales para mejorar el rendimiento matemático en estudiantes de 3ro de EGB elemental(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-11-23) Espinoza Espinoza, Pedro José; Tenesaca Ñauta, Christian Adrián; Achig Balarezo, José FranciscoThe present work has as a primary purpose to know the effect that laterality can have with respect to academic performance in the subject of mathematics, where it is considered to carry out an experimental investigation, with the purpose of improving laterality and its mathematical performance, said sample is conformed by 17 students belonging to the third "A" of E.G.B of the U.E, Dora Beatriz Canelos of the city of Cuenca, of the elementary sub-level, with ages between 7 to 8 years old. In the first instance, laterality will be evaluated by means of the Test "Of Lateral Dominance" created by Harris to have a starting point with the intention of determining their laterality, in the same way we will seek to obtain the summative evaluation grades of the first quarter of the school year 2021-2022 of the subject of mathematics, to know the initial performance, finally the aforementioned program will be applied during the Physical Education classes. This program yielded as a positive result, an effective relationship by obtaining an already defined laterality, with respect to the optimal performance in mathematical performance, maximizing their knowledge in a playful way, through the program of traditional games, which was adapted according to the need of the population groupItem Efecto de un curso de ajedrez en la atención y memoria de adolescentes de la Unidad Educativa Galo Plaza Lasso(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-02) Urvina Jetón, Bryan Patricio; Vásquez Sigcho, Pamela Elizabeth; Achig Balarezo, José FranciscoThe general objective of this degree project was to evaluate the impact of a chess program taught in person on the attention and memory factors in adolescents aged 12 to 14 years of the "Galo Plaza Lasso" Educational Unit of San Fernando canton for a duration of two months. The population consisted of 40 school students; the type of study applied for this degree project was a quasi-experimental design focused on cases and control in which 24 students were in the control group and 16 in the experimental group. During the program, two tests associated with the study variables were used; The D2 test evaluates the attention in a time limit where the evaluated has to develop the speed of processing and following instructions, the Inverse Digits Subtest of the WISC-IV analyzes the memory more specifically the working memory since it has parameters to evaluate the sequencing and panning skills. The purpose of this project was to evaluate if the chess program improves the aforementioned factors, in order to use it as a didactic strategy to help the cognitive part of the student. At the end of this project, the results obtained were published, which when comparing the control group and the intervention group, an improvement in the level of attention and memory could be observed in the second group formed by students who actively participated in the chess course. Finally, it was concluded that cognitive and motor benefits are obtained with the constant practice of chess; such as a greater retention of information, improvement in decision making and also in the attention and memory factorItem Efectos del ajedrez en el rendimiento académico, creatividad y memoria general en estudiantes adolescentes(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-07-27) Chuva Brito, Alex Ramón; Achig Balarezo, José FranciscoThis research project had as objective to analyze the effects of chess teaching programs on adolescent students between the age of 13 and 18 years by means of a bibliographical review, which describe academic performance, creativity and general memory. The methodology applied was a qualitative systematic review with a descriptive observational design (without a statistical analysis). A bibliographical investigation of articles published between January 2010 and August 2020 was carried out in the following digital sources: EBSCO HOST “SPORTDiscus”, ProQuest, the Network of Open Source Repositories of Ecuador (RRAAE) and Google Scholar. A total of 82 articles were found within this period of time, of which 9 met the eligibility or inclusion criteria. The published articles show that after comparing the experimental group with the control group of adolescents, learning chess helps these adolescents improve among others their cognitive and metacognitive skills, their coping mechanism, their mathematical problem solving skills and their socio-personal development. However, with regard to the research variables creativity and general memory, no psychometric checks or tests were identified to support them, which clearly shows a lack of instruments to validate research linked or associated with chess. As for the academic performance, no significant differences were found between the experimental and the control groupsItem Efectos y aplicabilidad de un programa de enseñanza de ajedrez a escolares enfocado a mejorar el rendimiento académico en el área de matemáticas. Revisión bibliográfica(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-11-09) Morocho Brito, Bryam Alexander; Arias Zumba, Henry Ismael; Achig Balarezo, José FranciscoThis research is a bibliographic review with the objective of analyzing the effects and the applicability of a program of teaching chess to pupils, focused on improving academic performance in the field of mathematics. Based on the research topic and the established selection criteria, a literature search was carried out in several digital platforms, such as E-book, Scopus, Google Academic and Mendeley. Ten scientific articles were found that met the following conditions: being applied to pupils up to 15 years old, being experimental, being a program of teaching chess in an educational setting, being within the quartiles of the scientific influence of the Scimago framework and being related to our research topic. After analyzing each of the ten articles individually and comparing them collectively, the studies agree that a program of teaching chess to pupils brings multiple benefits. Furthermore, the studies show that these benefits were not limited to mathematics, but that these benefits were also found in other areas, such as intellectual, emotional and social, which confirms the feasibility of the application of a chess-teaching program in the educational fieldItem Motivaciones para realizar actividad física de estudiantes universitarios. Revisión sistemática(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-02-27) Torres Flor, David; Achig Balarezo, José FranciscoThe following study, has as a goal to develop a systematic review of the results of different publications related with the application of the EMI-2 questionnaire of college students’ motivations for practicing physical activity. The results of this review would give clear data about which activities motivates more the college students. The publications that were reviewed had as study population college students, applied the Exercise Motivation Inventory2 (EMI-2). The results of the studies were compared in function of the following factors such as affiliation, appearance, focus on challenge, enjoy, competition, health pressure, avoid illhealth, agility, improve health, revitalization, social recognition, development of strength and resistance, stress management, and weight control. This comparison helps the professionals of the college institutes, to develop different sports programs aligned with the motivations of their students. The goal is finding the most common motivations for college students to practice physical activity and use that information in several areas of educationItem La práctica del ajedrez en personas de la tercera edad del centro de jubilación activa del IESS, efectos y estudio; Cuenca 2015(2015) Carrasco Zumba, Lucía Fernanda; Cuenca Quito, Edwin Francisco; Achig Balarezo, José FranciscoThe main objective of the following thesis was to design and run a program focused on learning and practicing Chess for older residents, who belong to the elderly attention center of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS) of Cuenca, through a workshop held from February to May 2015. The main purpose was to better the quality of life of the participants, taking advantage of the many benefits of playing Chess, especially for human intellectual capacity. We also meant to promote the game as recreational activity for the elderly. This was achieved using the empiric deductive method, which allowed us to build empiric knowledge through the initial evaluation, applying an experimental Pre-test – Post-test procedure (MoCA test and a test on Chess knowledge) to an 8 person sample of a population of approximately 2,500 people. The results obtained through the MoCa test showed the augmentation of cognitive capacities related to playing chess, for example: identification 7%, memory 30%, repetition 12% and also within concentration, attention and calculation. The conclusions showed that, as a result of systemization, pacification and the use of the right methodology; the participants were able to learn to play Chess and, in addition, have fun, benefiting of its practice to better their quality of life.
