The present research aims to identify the level of self-esteem in adolescents between 15 and 18 years, with self-esteem being a determining factor for the development of the adolescent in terms of personality, mental health and adaptation to the environment. A quantitative approach has been used, with exploratory-descriptive research. The study group consisted of 246 adolescents, men and women enrolled in the city of Cuenca evaluated using the Self-esteem Scale of Rosemberg. The results indicate that there are high levels of self-esteem with 59% and no significant differences were found between the levels of self-esteem by age and gender.

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene el propósito de identificar el nivel de autoestima existente en los adolescentes entre 15 a 18 años, siendo la autoestima un factor determinante para el desarrollo del adolescente en cuanto a su personalidad, salud mental y adaptación al medio. Se ha utilizado un enfoque cuantitativo, con una investigación de tipo exploratoria-descriptiva. El grupo de estudio estuvo conformado por 246 adolescentes, hombres y mujeres escolarizados de la ciudad de Cuenca evaluados mediante la Escala de Autoestima de Rosemberg. Los resultados obtenidos indican que existen niveles altos de autoestima con un 59% y no se hallaron diferencias significativas entre los niveles de autoestima por edad y género.
