| dc.description | Antecedentes: La cervicalgia mecánica es uno de los motivos más frecuentes de consulta en el campo de la Terapia Física, ésta afecta a un 30% - 50% de la población mundial 1, 2. En el Centro de Salud El Valle Cuenca - Ecuador, en el período Septiembre 2014 – Febrero 2015, de los pacientes atendidos, el 37,02 % fueron diagnosticados con cervicalgia mecánica 3. Objetivo General: Evaluar los resultados de la aplicación de liberación posicional mediante Técnica de Inhibición Neuromuscular Integrada (TINI) en puntos gatillo miofasciales para el tratamiento de cervicalgia en el Centro de Salud El Valle Cuenca Abril- Octubre 2015. Metodología: Estudio Cuasi–experimental no controlado, con diseño preprueba - posprueba en un solo grupo, evaluado según las variables; puntos gatillo miofasciales, umbral de dolor a la presión, escala visual análoga (EVA), edad y género; el tratamiento consistió en aplicar la técnica TINI. Los datos obtenidos se analizaron, organizaron e interpretaron mediante el programa estadístico SPSS 15. La eficacia del tratamiento se determinó a través del valor p, obtenido con la prueba t para muestras relacionadas. Resultados: Finalizada la intervención, se evidenció una disminución significativa del dolor según la escala EVA (p=0,000), disminución de puntos gatillo (p=0,000) y un aumento del umbral de dolor (p=0,000). | dc.description.abstract | Precedents: Cervicalgia is one of the most common reasons for consultation in the area of Physical Therapy. It affects 30% to 50% of the world population 1, 2. In El Valle Medical Center in Cuenca-Ecuador, from September 2014 to February 2015, 37.02% of patients seen were diagnosed with Cervicalgia 3. General Objective: To evaluate the results from the application of positional liberation through Integrated Neuromuscular Inhibition Technique (INIT) in myofascial trigger points as a Cervicalgia treatment, in El Valle Medical Center, Cuenca-Ecuador, from April 2015 to October 2015. Methodology: Quasi-experimental study, without a control group, pretest-posttest design on one experimental group and evaluated according to these variables: myofascial trigger points, pressure pain threshold, visual analogue scale, age, and gender. Treatment consisted in applying INIT. The data obtained was analyzed, organized, and interpreted using the Statistical Software SPSS 15.0. Treatment efficacy was determined through the value of p, obtained with t-test for dependent samples. Results: After the intervention, according to the Visual Analogue Scale, levels of pain were significantly lower (p=0.000), the number of trigger points dropped (p= 0.000) and a higher pain threshold was observed (p=0.000). Conclusion: The effects of the INIT were statistically significant effect in reducing the symptoms caused by neck pain.
