Síndrome posligadura en pacientes realizadas esterilización quirúrgica en el Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo en el periodo 2016- 2018

Abstract

Background: Due to occlusion in the blood irrigation of the gonad there is a certain degree of hypoxemia, meaning oxygen depletion and increase of the prooxidant balance in the ovary resulted from tubal artery occlusion by ligation, caused a depletion of the estrogen secretion and such hormonal alteration reflected in an irregular menstrual bleeding, accompanied by dysmenorrhea, abdominal pain, libido decrease: what is commonly referred to as the “post tubal ligation syndrome”.

Main Objective: To determine the post-ligation syndrome in patients who underwent surgical sterilization at the Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital in the year 20.

Methodology: A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out for all patients who underwent surgical sterilization at the Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital in the year 2018. For data collection a fill-up form was used to gather the variables of this investigation. The information obtained will be processed through the software SPSS 23. V and the analysis will be carried out by descriptive statistics using, frequencies, percentages and measures of central tendency (qualitative variables). The results will be presented in simple tables.

Results: The main post-ligation symptoms were increased vaginal bleeding 33.3%, 37.3% pain during menstruation, 26.5% breast pain was a nuisance, 36.3% reported feeling emotional instability; 70.6% did not present changes in sexual desire a large percentage. 69% of the participants belonged to the age group from 30 to 39 years; 38% obtained secondary education; Married patients predominated with 58.8%, while 71.6% reported having 3 or more children.

Conclusion: The patients that underwent a tubal occlusion surgery did present clinical symptomatology.
