Valor económico agregado en las microempresas del sector manufacturero en la provincia del Azuay durante el periodo 2019- 2021

Abstract

A globalized environment demands that companies face challenges in order to attract investment and maintain competitiveness, in addition to forcing them to manage effectively and efficiently, which increases the conviction of investors and shareholders to generate value. This article presents the results of a study aimed at analyzing the Economic Value Added (EVA) of microenterprises in the manufacturing sector of Azuay in the period 2019-2021. The information was obtained from the database of the Superintendence of Companies, Securities and Insurance, from which 170 microenterprises were sampled, classified according to their type of economic activity and type of company. In addition, to complement the statistical information, interviews were conducted with key actors. The results obtained showed that the manufacturing microenterprise sector since 2019 has been suffering a negative impact, this intensified during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, however, in the post-pandemic year there was a slight recovery of the sector, however, the destruction of value predominates.
