Morbilidad y mortalidad materno neonatal y calidad de la atención en el Hospital Aida de León Rodríguez Lara, Girón, 2010

Abstract

Maternal and neonatal mortality are indicators of the degree of development of our country and guarantee the rights of society to lower your rate, it becomes a priority for the public health system. Objective: To describe the main causes of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality, and quality of care at “Aida de Leon Rodriguez Lara” Hospital from Giron, in the first half of 2010. A descriptive study was conducted by the Perinatal Information System (SIP) of all the attention in the period from January to June 2010. The variables were obtained of the Perinatal Information System of the Perinatal Maternal Clinical History of the Ministry of Public Health and they were analized. There were 117 cards. The statistical analysis was done through the program SIP and Excel, and the standards of quality were achieved according to manual of the Ministry of Public Health. Results: There were not either maternal or neonatal deaths. The five leading causes of maternal morbidity were dystocias, abortions, premature rupture of membranes, pyelonephritis, vaginosis. In contrast the neonatal morbidity hyperbilirubinemia, risk of sepsis, ABO incompatibility, respiratory distress, restriction of growth. The ratings of compliance with quality standards were good percentages, except in the management of obstetric complications. The ages of risk (less than 20 and greater than 35) were 37% of unintended pregnancies by 46% and 3% use contraception. There was 35% of deficient prenatal control.
